27 Year Old Inmate Mark Daniels Facing Charges for Assaulting the Aurora Movie Theater Shooter James Holmes

HMM, SHOULDN’T WE GIVE THIS INMATE PRISON PERKS, AND A PACK OF CIGARETTES INSTEAD?

27 year old Mark “Slim” Daniels is supposed to be charged with assault for an alleged attack on James Holmes, the Aurora move theater shooter. The incident occurred earlier this month at the Colorado State Penitentiary. The fellow state maximum security penitentiary prisoner Mark “Slim” Daniels threw himself at Holmes and took a few swings at the convicted mass killer earlier this month. Charged, really? Let’s just call it prisoners meeting out their own brand of justice. James Holmes is serving multiple life terms for carrying out the Aurora movie theater massacre that killed 12 and wounded 70. Sorry if this is wrong, but I would have no issue if this inmate had shived Holmes and killed him. The jury in James Holmes murder trial should have sentenced this SOB to death, not life in prison.

James Holmes, condemned to spend the rest of his life in a Colorado prison, was allegedly assaulted there by a fellow inmate, a state corrections spokeswoman said Saturday.

The incident occurred earlier this month at the Colorado State Penitentiary, which Holmes’ calls home given his multiple life terms for carrying out the Aurora movie theater massacre that killed 12 and wounded 70.

“It was not an attack, it was a very minor incident in passing in a hallway,” Adrienne Jacobson, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Corrections, told CNN.

While the 27-year-old Holmes wasn’t injured, the incident was serious enough to warrant charges against the other inmate.

Jacobson told the Denver Post that inmate, 27-year-old Mark Daniels, will be charged with assault on Holmes and assault on a correctional officer.

The Colorado newspaper said that it first learned of the encounter in a letter received Friday, purportedly from Daniels, saying the incident occurred October 8. But corrections officials hadn’t seen the letter and couldn’t confirm that Daniels wrote it.

Hmm, maybe there is honor among thieves as earlier reported in this story.

Tony Torrez  has been charged with murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, assault with the intent to commit a violent felony, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, child abuse, child abuse resulting in death and tampering with evidence. On Tuesday  in a road rage incident, Tony Torrez fired shots at the vehicle driven by Alan Garcia, the father of murdered Lilly Garcia. He had to have seen that there were children in the car.

Albuquerque police said late Wednesday that a suspect had confessed to a road rage shooting that killed a four-year-old girl on Interstate 40.

Authorities said Tony Torrez, 32, had been charged with murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, assault with the intent to commit a violent felony, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, child abuse, child abuse resulting in death and tampering with evidence. He was being held on $650,000 bail.

Police said Torrez had confessed to Tuesday’s shooting, which killed Lilly Garcia as she rode in a vehicle driven by her father Alan, who had just picked Lilly and her brother up from school.

Police said Alan Garcia was traveling westbound on Interstate 40 and was attempting to exit the freeway when Torrez’s vehicle cut across traffic and forced Garcia out of his lane. Investigators said Garcia and Torrez exchanged words before Torrez pulled out a gun and fired at Garcia’s truck.

Lilly Garcia was struck at least once in the head. She was rushed to a local hospital, but was later pronounced dead. Her father and brother were unhurt.

UPDATE I: Anonymous Tipster turns Torrez into Police.

Torrez told an acquaintance that “he shot the girl on Interstate 40″ and that Garcia’s “red truck tried to run Tony off the road,” the court documents said. The acquaintance later became an anonymous tipster to police, and his information was used in Torrez’s arrest warrant.

After he was arrested, Torrez “confessed” to the shooting, said police Chief Gorden Eden.

The anonymous tipster told police that Torrez’s address on his driver’s license and registration weren’t correct, and gave two other addresses for Torrez on the same street.

It appears the family did not know the suspect, police told CNN affiliate KOAT.

Pastor Kills Brick-Wielding Man during Sunday Church Service in Detroit

THOU SHALL NOT KILL UNLESS YOU ARE ATTACKED BY A CRAZED MAN WITH A BRICK …

A Detroit pastor shot and killed a brick-weilding man with his Glock handgun during a Sunday church service. The incident allegedly happened about 15 minutes into the 1:30 p.m. service at the City of God ministries storefront church on Grand River near Lahser. According to the Detroit Free Press, the man with the brick never actually made it into the church, but went after the pastor in the vestibule. The pastor responded with gunfire, shooting the man multiple times, hitting the man in the chest. The man died a short while later at Botsford Hospital. The pastor was taken into police custody for questioning.

There is no separation of Church and Glock

Violence marred a church service Sunday when a man with a brick attacked the pastor, who whipped out his Glock handgun and fired several shots, killing the man, Detroit police said.

The incident allegedly happened about 15 minutes into the 1:30 p.m. service at the City of God ministries storefront church on Grand River near Lahser, Assistant Chief Steve Dolunt said.

“The pastor had had issues with the man before,” Dolunt said. “He had been threatening him to do bodily harm. He walked into the service and went after the pastor with a brick. The pastor pulled out his Glock and fired several shots. I think he hit him 4 or 5 times, and the man died.”

The pastor was taken into police custody for questioning, Dolunt said.

After the questioning wraps up, police will submit a warrant request to prosecutors, who will then decide whether the shooting was justified.

“We’re not sure at this point whether the man had mental problems or what,” Dolunt said. “It’s still under investigation.”

As we always say, don’t bring a brick to a gun fight.

75 Year Old Army Vet James Vernon Saves 16 Children From Knife Attack by 19 Year Old Dustin Brown at at Morton Public Library in Illinois

SCARED MONKEYS HERO OF THE WEEK … 75 YEAR OLD RETIRED VETERAN JAMES VERNON.

75 year old US military vet James Vernon saves that day as he fought off a crazed knife wielding lunatic, 19 year old Dustin Brown, and saved 16 children at a public library in Illinois. James Vernon was teaching a chess class with 16 children at Morton Public Library when authorities say 19-year-old Dustin Brown entered the room with two knives. That is when the 75 year old vet took action. Vernon suffered “two cut arteries and a tendon” while defending the kids and credited his knife-fighting skills he learned in the US Army for allowing him to delay Brown enough to get the kids to safety. According to a court affidavit, Dustin Brown told police afterward that he “failed in his mission to kill everyone.” Thanks to the efforts of hero James Vernon. Brown was ordered held on $800,000 bond pending a November 5 court appearance on charges of attempted murder, armed violence, aggravated battery to a person over age 60 and burglary for entering the library with intent to commit a crime. This POS is also due in court Monday, Oct 22 on child pornography charges filed against him in March.

Pekin Daily Times:

Sixteen children and a handful of their mothers found the only door to their library room blocked by a man who held hunting knives in each hand as he screamed, “I’m going to kill some people!”

Dustin Brown, 19, specifically wanted to kill children Tuesday at Morton Public Library, he said after the would-be victims escaped safely.

Had he brought a firearm instead, “It would’ve been a different story,” James Vernon said Thursday.

Blood was shed, but mostly Vernon’s, because the retired chess club teacher kept his cool, gave his class an avenue of flight and remembered the knife-fight training the Army gave him five decades ago.

Vernon, 75, won his “90 seconds of combat” with Brown, “but I felt like I lost the war,” he chuckled. He cut two arteries and a tendon on Vernon’s left hand as Vernon blocked Brown’s knife swipe.

“I failed my mission to kill everyone,” Brown told police, according to a prosecutor’s court affidavit that accompanied formal charges Thursday that included attempted murder.

23 Year Old Armed Robbery Suspect Dashawn Terrell Cochran Used Uber for His Getaway Car in Maryland

I BET UBER NEVER HAD THIS IN THEIR BUSINESS MODEL …

23 year old armed robbery suspect, Dashawn Terrell Cochran, appears to have used UBER as his getaway vehicle from the scene of the crime. After having held up a store in Parkville, Maryland, the suspect was seen getting into a the back of a silver Lexus. The Baltimore County Police Department say he pointed a gun at a store employee and demanded that he give him money. When the Baltimore police pulled the drive over, the driver said he was an Uber driver. Imagine that. Cochran was arrested and charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and theft less than $1,000. He is being held on $500,000 bail. The Uber driver and another passenger in the vehicle were released, having had nothing to do with the robbery.

I guess they really are everyone’s private driver … even armed robbers

UBER

A 23-year-old man suspected of armed robbery tried to take an Uber car to help him get away after he held up a store outside Baltimore, police said.

The suspect, Dashawn Terrell Cochran, was at a store in Parkville, Maryland, early Wednesday morning when he allegedly took a bottle of Tylenol cold medicine to the register, the Baltimore County Police Department said. Police said he then pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money.

Cochran ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, but officers began to track his path, police said.

Cochran was seen getting into the back of a silver Lexus, and when officers pulled the car over, the driver said he was an Uber driver, police said.

Maybe it is the UBER passengers that need all the back ground checks and not just the UBER drivers.
