Attorney Cleta Mitchell Says to Congress: IRS Scandal Against Tea Party & Conservative Organizations is Real and the DOJ Investigation of the IRS Is a Sham
Attorney Cleta Mitchell addresses Congress regarding the continued IRS scandal … IT IS REAL, STILL NOT OVER AND THE INVESTIGATION IS A SHAM!
It would appear that there is more than a “smidgen” of corruption in IRS-gate.
- The IRS scandal is real. It’s not pretend, it’s real.
- The IRS scandal is not just a bone-headed bunch of bureaucrats in some remote office contrary to what the president of the United States told the American people on [Super Bowl] Sunday.
- The IRS scandal is not over. It is continuing to this day and the Department of Justice investigation is a sham.
Explosive testimony lit up a House hearing on the IRS targeting scandal Thursday, as GOP super lawyer Cleta Mitchell told representatives that the systematic effort to delay the processing of grass-roots groups’ applications for nonprofit status continues to occur.
Mitchell represents several grass-roots conservative organizations whose applications under sections 501c3 and 501c4 of the internal revenue code were delayed for years in the run-up to the 2012 election. She said that targeting had not stopped.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Hammers DOJ’s Eric Holder on Compromised Integrity of IRS Investigation
How could this not be considered a conflict of interest?
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned Attorney General Eric Holder on the impartiality and conflict of interest in the IRS investigation of conservative groups and Tea Party organizations by the IRS. To data no one has been held accountable, even though President Obama and Holder both initially proclaimed their outrage. However, of all the attorneys in the Justice department, he managed to find one to lead the investigation that was a big Obama campaign donor. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! What would happen if a Republican administration did the same? These folks are as corrupt as it gets.
“In the 280 days since that inspector general report, nobody has been indicted,” Cruz said. “Not a single person. In the 280 days since that inspector general report, it’s been publicly reported that no indictments are planned. Today in this hearing, you were unwilling to answer a question whether even a single victim of targeting has been interviewed.”
And, Cruz said, “most astonishingly, it has now been publicly reported that the lead lawyer heading the investigation was, No. 1, appointed from the civil rights division, which has historically been the most politically charged division in the Dept. of Justice. And even more astonishingly, is a major Democratic donor and donor to President Obama.”
Hmm, what does the Obama administration and IRS have to hide … I thought this was supposed to be the most transparent presidency ever? Time to appoint an independent prosecutor. Where is the MSM reporting this abuse of power?
Attorney General Eric Holder had a long day on Wednesday. He clashed with a number of no-nonsense lawmakers during a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, including Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Cruz pressed Holder on the Justice Department’s investigation into the IRS targeting scandal, calling the results of the probe “astonishing.”
“In my view, the integrity of the Department of Justice has been severely compromised,” Cruz told Holder. “Predecessors of yours in both parties, Democrat and Republican, when faced with serious charges of abuse of power for partisan gain have made the right decision and appointed special prosecutors.”
“I would call upon you to carry out the tradition of independence that attorneys general have honored that office with for centuries and protect the integrity of the Department of Justice,” he later added. “Given the political sensitivities, given the fact that individual citizens believe they are being persecuted by the federal government for partisan reasons.”

Five Mobsters Arrested Three Decades After the 1978 Lufthansa Heist at JFK Made Famous in the Movie ‘GoodFellas’ (Update: Bonanno Crime Family Suspect Vincent Asaro, Jerome Asaro, Thomas DeFiore, John Rigano & Jack Bonventre Arrested)
Five men believed to be reputed mobsters associated with New York’s Bonnano crime family have been arrested Thursday in connection with the 1978 Lufthansa heist at JFK International Airport. The “heist” was made famous in the 1990 movie. ‘GoodFellas’. Huh, I would have thought at this point either those involved in the multi-million dollar heist would have died of old age or been whacked for their involvement in the crime. Many of those who took part in the crime turned up dead to keep their silence. Mastermind of the heist James “Jimmy the Gent” Burke was a member of the the Lucchese crime family and died in prison in 1996. However, it would seem that Jimmy the Gent had some secrets in the basement of his home, now owned by his daughter.

Five men believed to be mobsters were taken into custody on Thursday on charges of murder and other crimes linked to an long-unsolved 1978 Lufthansa heist at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, an FBI spokeswoman said.
The arrests in the three-decades-old crime, made famous by the 1990 film “Goodfellas,” were the result of an FBI search last summer at the New York home of James “Jimmy the Gent” Burke, said FBI spokeswoman Kelly Langmesser.
Burke, the suspected mastermind of the heist, died in prison in 1996 while serving time for the murder of a drug dealer. Robert De Niro played a character based on Burke in the film.
Those arrested were Bonanno family suspects Vincent Asaro, Jerome Asaro, Thomas DeFiore, John Rigano and Jack Bonventre.

File this one under, better late than never … Arrests Made in Cold Case Investigation, Including ’78 Lufthansa Heist.
The investigation looked at numerous crimes, some predating even the airport heist, including a homicide committed in the late 1960s. The federal investigation first became public in June, when F.B.I. agents descended on a home in the South Ozone Park neighborhood of Queens and began digging in the basement, soon finding human remains, the person familiar with the investigation said.
The property was owned by the daughter of the late James (Jimmy the Gent) Burke, the underworld figure whom investigators have long suspected of masterminding the Lufthansa theft.
One of the men who has been arrested, Vincent Asaro, 78, is expected to face charges in connection to the airport robbery, according to a second person familiar with the investigation. It is not immediately clear what investigators believe to have been his role.
The other men under arrest are not accused of that particular crime.

NY Times Goes in the the Tank for Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton … Revisionist History Report Says Al-Qaeda Not Linked to Benghazi Attack & Was Fueled by Anti-Islam Video
All hands liberal MSM on deck … its time to shill for Obama and namely protect Hillary Clinton for 2016 … Benghazi-gate, What Benghazi-gate?
The NY Times reported this morning that Al Qaeda was not linked to the Benghazi consulate attack that killed four Americans, including US Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Instead, the attack was led by fighters who had benefited directly from NATO’s air power and logistics support during the uprising against Colonel Qaddafi. However, most astonishingly, the Times was back touting that the attack was “fueled in large part by anger at an American-made video denigrating Islam.” GOOD GRIEF. Hmm, doesn’t the Times realize that Hillary Clinton is already on record that in September of last year, Clinton suggested the attack was the work of Al Qaeda or Al Qaeda affiliates?
Darrell Issa disputes NY Times Propaganda Piece on Benghazi and tries to educate a bias NBC ‘Meet the Press’ David Gergory
Months of investigation by The New York Times, centered on extensive interviews with Libyans in Benghazi who had direct knowledge of the attack there and its context, turned up no evidence that Al Qaeda or other international terrorist groups had any role in the assault. The attack was led, instead, by fighters who had benefited directly from NATO’s extensive air power and logistics support during the uprising against Colonel Qaddafi. And contrary to claims by some members of Congress, it was fueled in large part by anger at an American-made video denigrating Islam.
A fuller accounting of the attacks suggests lessons for the United States that go well beyond Libya. It shows the risks of expecting American aid in a time of desperation to buy durable loyalty, and the difficulty of discerning friends from allies of convenience in a culture shaped by decades of anti-Western sentiment. Both are challenges now hanging over the American involvement in Syria’s civil conflict.
The attack also suggests that, as the threats from local militants around the region have multiplied, an intensive focus on combating Al Qaeda may distract from safeguarding American interests.
In this case, a central figure in the attack was an eccentric, malcontent militia leader, Ahmed Abu Khattala, according to numerous Libyans present at the time. American officials briefed on the American criminal investigation into the killings call him a prime suspect. Mr. Abu Khattala declared openly and often that he placed the United States not far behind Colonel Qaddafi on his list of infidel enemies. But he had no known affiliations with terrorist groups, and he had escaped scrutiny from the 20-person C.I.A. station in Benghazi that was set up to monitor the local situation.
You thought the MSM was in the tank for Obama? You haven’t seen nuthing yet. They will be all-in, all the time for Hillary Clinton from now until the 2016 presidential election. The Libs in the MSM now have to make up for a weakened, scandal plagued, dishonest and untrustworthy lame duck Barack Obama, the lie and disaster that is Obamacare and an anemic economy. So why not start with as Powerline calls it, some revisionist history on Benghazi. It would appear that we have found Hilary’s weak spot and the MSM must now cover it up … but what difference does it make?
The Times stops short of claiming that the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi was “spontaneous.” It says, instead, that the attack was not “meticulously planned.”
That may or may not be true. But the quality of the planning — good enough, as it turned out — seems irrelevant. Again, what matters is that the State Department should have been prepared for the attack and taken action accordingly. This the New York Times does not dispute.
It also matters that the Obama administration’s account of the attack, per Susan Rice, was inaccurate even if one accepts the Times’ dubious reporting. The Times acknowledges this, though it chooses to characterize Rice’s account as just a “misstatement.”
The adequacy or inadequacy of the Obama administration’s response as the Benghazi attacks unfolded also matters. So does the treatment of those in the State Department who have dared to question Hillary Clinton’s actions relating to Benghazi.
Whatever else the Times story demonstrates, I believe it shows that this story won’t go away as long as Hillary Clinton aspires to be president.
UPDATE I: House Intelligence chair, Rep. Mike Rogers, (R-Mich): Benghazi attack ‘Al Qaeda-led event.
The 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya was an “Al Qaeda-led event” according to multiple on-the-record interviews with the head of the House Intelligence Committee who receives regular classified briefings and has access to the raw intelligence to make independent assessments.
“I will tell you this, by witness testimony and a year and a half of interviewing everyone that was in the ground by the way, either by an FBI investigator or the committee: It was very clear to the individuals on the ground that this was an Al Qaeda-led event. And they had pretty fairly descriptive events early on that lead those folks on the ground, doing the fighting, to the conclusion that this was a pre-planned, organized terrorist event,” Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., told Fox News in a November interview.
“Not a video, that whole part was debunked time and time again,” Rogers added of the attack which killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, “which just leads to questions of why the administration hung with that narrative for so long when all the folks who participated on the ground saw something different.”
Rev. Jesse Jackson Compares ‘Duck Dynasty’s’ Phil Robertson to Rosa Parks’ Bus Driver … Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged
Some will do anything to keep races at each others throats and make a buck in the process …
Late to the game but never wanting to miss a chance to miss the media attention, Rev. Jesse Jackson of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition condemned Phil Robertson’s, the ‘Duck Dynasty’ patriarch, comment African Americans and gays and compared them to the comments made by Rosa Parks’ bus driver. HUH? So let’s understand this, Jackson thinks that Robertson’s comments are more offensive than telling Rosa Parks to get to the back of the bus? Good grief, could Jackson possibly marginalize Rosa Parks anymore? Jackson stated that the Rainbow PUSH Coalition is demanding to meet with network execs, along with Cracker Barrel’s CEO, to discuss the future of all “Duck Dynasty” memorabilia or content. Yea, no shakedown here.
If Jackson was intellectually honest here, he would see who’s civil rights were actually violated. I guess the Reverend Jackson does not care about Freedom of Speak and Freedom of Religion when it does not go along with his liberal agenda.
Duck Dynasty makes how much in merchandise, I need me some of that …
Jesse Jackson Sr. has jumped into the controversy surrounding comments by Phil Robertson, star of A&E’s backwoods reality TV show, “Duck Dynasty.”
In an announcement sent out Tuesday, Jackson Sr. compared Robertson’s recent comments about African-Americans, gay people and women to comments made by the driver of Rosa Parks’ bus.
“At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law,” he said in the release. “Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was ‘white privilege.’”
Jackson’s human rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, has demanded meetings with A&E and with Cracker Barrel regarding the two companies’ treatment of Robertson, who stars in the show as the head of a Louisiana family that makes duck calls.
The Gateway Pundit reminds us that he who cast stones, best check out if the house they live in is made of glass as the it was the Reverend Jackson “who once said he wanted to cut Barack Obama’s penis off and who fathered a love child out of wedlock.” Oh yea, and lest we forget that the Rev. Jesse Jackson was accused of harassment by a gay male staffer two years ago. But all this does not matter for when one brings this up, we are accused of judging Mr. Jackson.
UPDATE I: This is classic as reported at The Raw Story … Because it is perfectly acceptable for Jessee Jackson and hid personality and large platform to benefit from race baiting. Judge not lest ye be judged.
Jackson’s statement also called for executives at A&E Network, which airs Robertson’s show, and Cracker Barrel, which sells Duck Dynasty-related merchandise, to meet with himself and representatives from not only his organization, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, but the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the National Organization for Women.
“It is unacceptable that a personality who has been given such a large platform would benefit from racist and anti-gay comments,” the statement read.
