73% of Americans Believe that Wasteful Governemnt Spending to Blame for Federal deficit

Once again Barack Obama is on the wrong side of the issue against the belief of the American people.

According to a recent Gallup poll, an overwhelming majority of the American people think that wasteful government spending is responsible for the out of control federal deficit. 73% of Americans believe that government spending too much on programs, that includes 91% of Republicans, 73% of independents and 56% of Democrats.

However, Obama thinks what makes America great is government spending and by not spending we are harming future generations. Yet another issue that we be up for debate in the 2012 Presidential election. As the Gateway Pundit reminds us, Obama has tripled the US federal deficit since he took office.

Geithner Says Republicans Have Already Promised to Increase the Debt Ceiling

This morning on ABC’s “This Week”Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says he is certain that Congress will raise the debt ceiling. Geithner stated that Republicans have said that the GOP said this to the president on Wednesday … ”I sat there with them, and they said, we recognize we have to do this. And we’re not going to play around with it.”

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says he is certain that Congress will raise the debt ceiling, saying leaders are “not going to play around with it” and risk the “catastrophic” consequences of defaulting on the nation’s debt obligations.

“I want to make it perfectly clear that Congress will raise the debt ceiling,” Geithner said in an interview with ABC News “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour. When asked if he was sure, Geithner responded, “absolutely,” adding that Congressional leaders made clear they understood the importance of the matter when meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House last Wednesday.

Barack Obama: The Incredible Shrinking President … Leadership & Polls Going Down

President Barack Obama has looked far from the Leader of the Free World in recent months. In fact, Obama appears to be more and more nothing more than a shrinking violet. Barack Obama, “Lost in Smallness” and the Incredible shrinking President.

As per the most recent Rasmussen poll, Obama is at a -18 Daily Presidential index and has an 45% approval and 54% disapproval rating. Could it possible be because this President has shown no sign of leadership what so ever when it came to war in Libya or the recent debate over the 2011 budget?

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 21% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Thirty-nine percent (39%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18 (see trends).

UPDATE I: Just when Obama thought it could not get any worse, it has. It is being reported at the Drudge Report this morning that Obama has reached new lows.

Rasmussen poll: Obama — Strongly Approve: 19% (new low); Strongly Disapprove: 39% — Total Approval: 44%…developing…

Make that a -20 Daily Presidental Index as a record low of only 19% stronly approve of the job that Obama has done as president.

The LEFT is obviously none to please with many of Obama’s recent policy reversals including having a 2011 budget that called for no government spending from the White House and settling for $39.5 billion in cuts.

The most recent lack of Obama leadship is his wanting a Mulligan on the Debt Reduction. Barack Obama already put out a budget plan for 2012 that was a total joke to reduce the out of control US deficit. Having been embarrassed by the seriousness of the Ryan Plan and the fact that “We the People” want government spending cut … Obama, the Follower in Chief now has to release budget, debt reduction Part Deux. However, the pathetic reality of this reactionary President is to release debt reduction that pulls out one of the old pages from the Democrat play book and tax the rich. We can remember this failed during the lame duck session of Congress, now Obama wants to trod it out again.

An 11th Hour Budget Deal Struck … There Will be no Government Shutdown

Budget deal made, government shut down averted …

GOP House Speaker John Boehner has done what previous Democrat controlled House Speaker Pelosi, Democrat Senate Majority Leader and Democrat President Barack Obama could not do last year. Boehner managed to get a budget passed in spite of Democrats. Sadly, Democrats last year thought it not in their interest to pass a budget when they controlled both the House Senate and Presidency.  As the Politico reports:

After a long day of trading offers, the White House and House Republicans reached agreement Friday night on a budget framework that would cap 2011 appropriations near or below $1.050 trillion while cutting domestic and foreign aid by more than $40 billion from the rate of spending at the beginning of this Congress.

Behind the closed doors of special meeting of the Republican Conference, Speaker John Boehner presented the package to his party as at least an agreement in principle and said at one point: “We have a deal.” The Senate should now feel confident enough to move ahead with a stop gap spending bill to avert—or at least shorten—any shutdown beginning at midnight.

Initially Reed and Democrats did not want $1 dollar of any spending cuts. In the end they wound up with a deal to cut about $38 billion in federal spending. In the end it appears that the Tea Party was victorious in the end. However, there needs to be serious action to take on the national debt. It would appear that Harry Reed and Barack Obama were handed their hat this evening. Now wait until the debt ceiling vote.

The only great news of the night for Barack Obama is … he gets to go on yet another vacation now.

More Wasteful Government Spending … $600,000 for a Gurgling Toad Sculpture at the Pentagon’s Mark Center in Alexandria, VA

Why are any of us not surprised … this is just like spending $3000 for the ceramic cat on the Wheel of Fortune.

What is wrong with these people? The Pentagon is looking to spend $600,000 on this so-called art of a gurgling toad sculpture. Is this going to be the centerpiece in the main lobby of the Mark Center? NOPE.  To make matter worse, only an estimated 2,500 people will see this piece of art daily. This is yet just another example of what happens when people spend others peoples money. The US Treasury is going broke and we have government folks who think its a good idea to spend $600K on a frog. UNREAL.

A $600,000 frog sculpture that lights up, gurgles “sounds of nature” and carries a 10-foot fairy girl on its back could soon be greeting Defense Department employees who plan to start working at the $700 million Mark Center in Alexandria, Va. this fall. That is unless a new controversy over the price tag of the public art doesn’t torpedo the idea.

Decried as wasteful spending that will be seen by just a couple thousand of daily workers who arrive on bus shuttles, foes have tried to delay the decision, expected tomorrow, April 1. But in an E-mail, an Army Corps of Engineers official said that the decision can’t be held up because it would impact completion of the huge project.

Sadly, this is not an April’s Fools joke, the only fools are those that thought this was a wise purchase. All the kisses in the world will not turn this $600K toad into a prince.
