Presidential Election Polls: Rasmussen Now Has Ohio Dead Even Obama 45%, Romney 45% … Paul Ryan has 51% Favorable Rating in Buckeye State

Romney-Ryan on the rise in Ohio …

The latest Rasmussen poll has the Presidential election all tied up in the Buckeye state of Ohio. Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are now tied at 45% each in the first Rasmussen poll since Romney named Paul Ryan his VP candidate. In the previous poll conducted on July 17, 2012 Obama lead Romney 47% to 45%. Also, it would seem that the pick of Ryan as the GOP candidate for VP suits Ohioans well. In another Rasmussen poll, Paul Ryan has a 51% favorability rating while only 39% have an unfavorable view.

Rasmussen Reports’ latest look at the presidential race in Ohio shows President Obama and Mitt Romney running dead even at 45% each.

A new telephone survey of Likely Ohio Voters finds that six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate and four percent (4%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Ryan appears to be a solid pick for VP in Ohio, a must win state for Mitt Romney if be plans on winning the presidency.

Lunatic Fringe: VP Joe Biden Tells Supporters that Republicans Would “put y’all back in chains,” During a Campaign Speech in Danville, VA … A New Low for Obama/Biden

Just when you thought that Obama-Biden couldn’t get any more low rent … HEY AMERICA, HOW’S THAT HOPEY-CHANGEY THING WORKING OUT FOR YOU?

OBAMA-BIDEN has hit a new low and that is saying something for these two. At a campaign even in Danville, VA Vice President Joe Biden told supporters that Republicans would “put y’all back in chains.” Huh? And yes, the hideous comment was racial and meant to evoke putting blacks back in chains. This is what passes as a campaign? Could the Obama-Biden campaign get any more ugly? Politics is supposed to be a contact sport, but this is a new low in American politics. However, what else would one expect from a President and his Chicago style politics who cannot run on his record?

Vice President Joe Biden told supporters that Republicans would “put y’all back in chains,” during a campaign speech Tuesday in Danville, Va.

VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: They’ve said it. Every Republican’s voted for it. Look at what they value and look at their budget and what they’re proposing. Romney wants to let the—he said in the first 100 days, he’s going to let the big banks once again write their own rules–unchain Wall Street. They’re going to put y’all back in chains. He’s said he’s going to do nothing about stopping the practice of outsourcing…

Biden was introduced at the campaign event by Center for American Progress Action Fund president Tom Perriello, who called Biden “the conscience of our nation’s capital.”

The conscience of our nation’s capital? No wonder Washington, DC politicians have such a low approval rating. I think Perriello got the words conscience and brain dead confused.

The Romney campaign reacted to Biden’s vile and inappropriate words calling them “not acceptable”. However, in an interview with Andrea Mitchell, Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter the campaign has “no problem with those comments.” How low rent and in the gutter is the Obama campaign going to go? Actually, they have called Romney a killer and not some one who is going to put Americans back in chains. Just curious, what happened to Obama’s message of civility?

“The comments made by the vice president of the United States are not acceptable in our political discourse and demonstrate yet again that the Obama campaign will say and do anything to win this election.”

What a contrast we are witness to with Obama’s stooge VP Biden and the GOP pick Rep. Paul Ryan. Biden acts like the village idiot and Ryan comes across as a sincere, honest, serious VP candidate with a plan to prevent America from going over the fiscal cliff. Voters need to answer a question, everyone speculated as to who Mitt Romney was going to pick as his VP candidate and whether that person would be ready to lead America being only a heart beat away from the Presidency. Maybe that same question needs to be posed regarding Joe Biden. Who thinks this loose cannon is capable of being President?

Will US Rep Paul Ryan (WI-R) Pick for Romney’s Vice President Bring Wisconsin into Play and Affect Other Midwest States Like Iowa, Ohio, Michigan?

With today’s selection of Rep. Paul Ryan (WI-R) as Mitt Romney’s Vice President, will this have an affect on the Presidential races in Wisconsin and other Midwestern states like Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Minnesota?

According to a recent Rasmussen poll, Obama leads Romney in Wisconsin 49% to 46%. However, this poll was taken prior to the announcement of Ryan being named Romney’s VP pick. In last months Rasmussen poll, Romney inched ahead of the president for the first time in the state – 47% to 44%. It is safe to say that the “Cheese head” state is in play.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Wisconsin Likely Voters shows the president drawing 49% of the vote to Romney’s 46%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

Romney is viewed favorably by 50% of Wisconsin voters and unfavorably by 48%, showing little change from last month. The latest findings include Very Favorable reviews from 23% and Very Unfavorable ones from 30%.

Romney leads the president 46% to 39% among Wisconsin voters who are not affiliated with either major political party. The GOP challenger has a seven-point lead among male voters in the state, but the president is ahead by 11 points among female voters.

In 2008 Barack Obama defeated John McCain in Wisconsin 56% to 43%. However, in 2012 Obama is yet to reach 50% as the incumbent. With the recent GOP successes in Wisconsin like the Governor Scott Walker victory in 2010 and his his follow up victory in 2012 with the failed Democrat recall election, Republicans have reason for hope in possibly wrestling Wisconsin away from Democrats in 2012.

Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) in Deep trouble for Reelection, Trails All Three Republican Challengers Brunner, Steelman & Akin

Big MO not on the side of Senator Claire McCaskill in reelection bid in Missouri.

Incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) trails all three GOP opponents in the latest poll. The full poll results can be seen HERE. John Brunner (R) holds an 11 point margin over McCaskill, leading by a 52%  to 41%. Former state Treasurer Sarah Steelman (R) leads by an 8 point advantage 49% to 41%. Rep. Todd Akin (R) leads by 5 points with a 49%  to 44%  margin. In all three cases, McCaskill is polling well under 50%, in two instances she is in the low 40′s. Can you say vulnerable? Just like Barack Obama is Missouri, McCaskill is polling poorly with Independents.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) trails all three of her potential Republican rivals, according to a new survey conducted for two Missouri news outlets, cementing her status as this cycle’s most vulnerable incumbent.

Businessman John Brunner (R) holds the largest advantage over McCaskill, leading by a 52 perent to 41 percent margin. Former state Treasurer Sarah Steelman (R) leads by a 49 percent to 41 percent margin. And Rep. Todd Akin (R) leads by a 49 percent to 44 percent margin.

McCaskill’s big problems come among independent voters. She scores just 40 percent among independents against Akin, and she’s mired in the mid-30s when she’s matched up with Brunner and Steelman. And while McCaskill has said she would like President Obama to campaign with her, Obama wouldn’t be much of an advantage — the poll shows Obama trails Mitt Romney by a 51 percent to 42 percent margin.

Missouri is a key US Senate targeted pickup state for the GOP in 2012 in order for the Republicans to regain control of the Senate. McCaskill may be the most vulnerable Democrat Senator; however, there are many retiring Democrats that are allowing for open seats that will most certainly by GOP gains like in Nebraska, Virginia and North Dakota.

McCaskill said that she was going to skip the Democrat National convention and stay home and campaign. From the looks of it, McCaskill has shown the “Show Me” state enough. The real question that needs to be answered is how did a battleground toss up state like Missouri become solid red in such a short period of time? As The Other McCain ponders, if a mid-west state like Missouri has changed so much, how do Democrats and Obama expect to win in others like Iowa, Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin? Good question.

The Obama Job Recovery: Unemployment Rises in 27 States Including 6 Battle Ground States in June

When all is said and done, unemployment  will eventually sink Obama’s reelection in 2012 …

As much as President Barack Obama wants to avoid the primary issue of the 2012 elections, there is no way he can hide the fact that the economy has stalled and going backwards. The Obama job recovery has been a failure and has hit the skids at the worst possible time for Obama’s reelection bid. In June 27 states saw their unemployment rate rise. Worse yet for Obama, unemployment rates rose in six of ten battleground states.  According to the Department of Labor, the jobless rate climbed a 10th of a percentage point last month in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire and Virginia.

Unemployment rates rose in 27 states last month, the most in almost a year.

The Labor Department said Friday that unemployment rates fell in 11 states and Washington, D.C. — the fewest declines since August. Rates were unchanged in 12 states.

Nationwide, employers added only 80,000 jobs last month, third straight month of weak job growth. The national unemployment rate stayed at 8.2%.

Some of the states that saw a decline:

  • Nevada recorded the highest unemployment rate, at 11.6%, same as the previous month.
  • It was followed by Rhode Island at 10.9% and California at 10.7%
  • North Dakota had the lowest unemployment rate at 2.9%, followed by Nebraska at 3.8%
  • Several states reported big increases in unemployment. Rates rose 0.4 percentage points in Alabama and New Jersey, to 7.8% and 9.6%, respectively.
  • Still others lost jobs. Wisconsin shed 13,200, the most of any state. It was followed by Tennessee, where employers cut 12,100 jobs.

What else could one expect but poor economic jobs numbers when you have a President who failed to meet with his much touted Jobs Council in the last six months, yet has time for fundraiser and golf?  Retail sales fell in June for the third straight month as well.
