IT HAS BECOME OPEN SEASON ON OUR MEN IN BLUE … TWO MORE POLICE OFFICERS HAVE BEEN SHOT IN HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI …
Two police officers have been shot in the line of duty in Hattiesburg, MS Saturday night in what began as a routine traffic stop. Sadly, it became much more violent as two police officers were gunned down. The two were taken to the hospital where later Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict confirmed the deaths of officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate.
We have said this over and over at SM, that for police officers, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop. A police officer never knows when they approach a vehicle, especially at night, who or what they are about to encounter when they pull some one over. With what happened in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is exactly why police act like they do when they approach a vehicle.
UPDATE I: Police Officers Identified as officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate.

San Jose police are trying to track down a man who tried to sexually assault a woman in a grocery store restroom last month and this week forced his way into the home of a 13-year-old girl as she arrived home from school.
On Tuesday, the man followed the 13-year-old girl as she walked home from school. Police responded to the girl’s home in the 4000 block of Rio Vista Avenue and she told investigators he had forced his way through the front door of her home as she went inside. She fought him off and he fled before police arrived.
The girl then locked the door after he left, hid in a closet and texted her father: “DADDY COME HOME NOW. SOME GUY TRIED TO RAPE ME.”
Home surveillance video of assault
Authorities stated that the man in the video is wanted in another alleged sexual assault. In April, police said the man seen in the video had also followed a 28-year-old woman into a grocery store restroom and attempted to sexually assault her in West San Jose.

Home surveillance video shows the suspect pushing up against the girl and cornering her against a wall before the victim was able to get away.
“I had to fight this guy and I’m thinking, ‘Help me, help me please.’ That was actually the only thing that was going through my mind,” the teen girl said in an interview with NBC Bay Area on Wednesday.
The girl also said it appeared the man was recording the encounter on his phone.
The suspect left after the attack and fled before police arrived.
The girl said she took her phone and started texting her father and “running to the best hiding spot I could find.” She also reported the suspect had a strong smell of either alcohol or cologne.
The suspect remains at large. Anyone with information about him has been asked to call San Jose police Detective Brandon Scholten at (408) 277-4102. Anonymous tips can be left at the Crime Stoppers tip line at (408) 947-7867.
UPDATE I: 31 Year Old Mohammad Khaliqi Arrested.
Who would have thought that it was an individual with the name of Mohammad Khaliqi who tried to sexually assault a 13 year old girl? Thankfully, this POS was arrested. With all the misguided backlash against Pam Gellar and the ‘Draw the Prophet’ get-together, its only a matter of time before the liberal MSM expects an apology from the 13 year old for provoking the sexual assault.
San Jose police have arrested a man accused of forcing himself on a 13-year-old girl as she returned home from school.
The suspect has been identified as Mohammad Khaliqi, 31, of San Jose. Police arrested Khaliqi in the 1400 block of School St. in San Leandro on Friday morning.

UPDATE I: Shooting Suspect Arrested – Demetrius Blackwell.
Blackwell was arrested inside a house about 90 minutes after the early-evening shooting on a block he resided on near the crime scene, Bratton said. A weapon hasn’t been recovered.
The police-involved shooting, the fifth in as many months in New York, initially evoked fears of the December ambush of two uniformed police officers killed while sitting in their patrol car in Brooklyn. In that case, the shooter had posted on Instagram that he was planning to assassinate two “pigs.”
But Bratton said Saturday that a preliminary investigation indicates that Blackwell, 35, made no such postings but has an extensive criminal history, including an arrest for possession of a weapon.
“It was quite clear that they were police officers,” he said.
The two officers, both with about four years on the job, were assigned to an anti-crime unit.
Before Blackwell was found, police flooded the normally quiet residential neighborhood where the shooting occurred. Teams of officers could be seen walking on roofs, searching house-by-house and peering into backyards and under cars with flashlights.

UPDATE II: Queens Shooting suspect is ex-con and cousin of former Giants player Kory Blackwell.
Blackwell, who occasionally stayed with relatives in the area, fled the scene after the shooting — but was captured 90 minutes later inside a neighbor’s house.
“He jumped over the fence and put the gun in his pants,” said a witness who asked to remain anonymous. “He ran down the street. The police came and we showed them where he ran.”
A 19-year-old man who lives in the 212th Place home said the suspect showed up as if he didn’t have a care in the world.
The teen didn’t realize Blackwell was the suspect until cops rushed to the house, ordered out his family members and then led away the career criminal in cuffs.
“The way he was acting I didn’t think he would do anything like that,” the neighbor told the Daily News, declining to give his name. “I’m mad upset. If I knew, he wouldn’t be in my house.”
Officers were still scouring the scene early Sunday in search of the gun.
Blackwell has nine prior arrests — including two separate assaults on police officers, sources said. Once in custody he immediately “asked for his mom and a lawyer,” a source said.
