Florida Man Joshua Ryne Goldberg Arrested in Alleged Terror Plot Aimed at 9/11 Kansas City Stair Climb Anniversary Event (VIDEO)

20 year old Joshua Ryne Goldberg was arrested Thursday  in Jacksonville, Florida and charged with plotting to set off an explosion at a 9/11 event. According to court documents, Goldberg was plotting to bomb a 9/11 memorial event,  the Kansas City Stair Climb. Investigators state that he was communicating online with someone he thought was sympathetic to his cause in this terror attack. However, the individual he was communicating with was an FBI informant, and the online conversations were being monitored. According to investigators, Goldberg encouraged the informant to build a pressure cooker bomb similar to what was used in the Boston Marathon bombing. Goldberg could face 20 years in prison.

A Florida man is charged with plotting to set off an explosion at a 9/11 event. The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested 20-year-old Joshua Ryne Goldberg Thursday in Florida. Prosecutors say he told an online informant how to make the bomb he wanted.

Investigators originally thought the suspect was recruiting people to carry out attacks from a location in Australia, reports CBS News correspondent Jeff Pegues.

It turns out Goldberg was in the U.S., in a home near Jacksonville, where he was taken into custody. He shares the home in Orange Park with his parents.

According to court documents, he had set his sights on bombing a 9/11 memorial event — the Kansas City Stair Climb.

It is hard to believe it has been 14 years since that beautiful Fall September day when America and the world would be changed forever.  Both towers the World Trade Center fell in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, DC was hit and a plane full of American heroes went down in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania saving countless many. Have you forgotten?

God Bless all who perished that day and a special prayer to the family, friends and loved ones of those lost that day.

Having lived an area and known people where so many were from that perished that day still hits home and brings a tear knowing just how many people’s lives were changed forever. Having known people and having college alumni die that day in the World Trade Center that day still is painful. And its bitter sweet to also know others that survived that day through an act of God only to learn later that the guilt that they suffered from surviving that day while they lost all of their friends and colleagues. Please say a prayer for all of them. 9/11 affected so many people in so many ways.

Today is meant to honor the memories and the lives of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and the heroes that inspired a nation. The so many first responders who ran into danger and to the many that died whose only crime was to go to work. It has been 14 years to the day of that fateful September morning in 2001 where in an instant our lives and world changed forever. Nearly 3000 people lost their lives in NYC at the World Trade Center, in Washington, DC as flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon and in a field in Shanksville, PA where heroes aboard Flight 93 took matters into their hands and said “NO to terrorism”. DO YOU REMEMBER? Please I beg you, NEVER FORGET.

42 Year Old Marcy Borders, More Known as 9/11′s Iconic ‘Dust Lady,’ Has Died After Battle with Stomach Cancer

42 year old Marcy Borders, probably better known from her iconic picture as the “Dust Lady” following the collapse of the Twin Towers in NYC on September 11, 2001, has died of cancer.  According to The Jersey Journal, Borders was told in August last year that she had stomach cancer and underwent chemotherapy. She had always linked the cancer to 911, when she inhaled and was covered with all types of hazardous debris. One will never know, but sadly after a long, hard and trying struggle following the 911 terror attacks, Marcy Borders has passed.

A woman who became known as the “Dust Lady” after being captured on camera in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack on New York City has died after a battle with cancer, her brother confirmed to NBC News.

Marcy Borders, a 42-year-old from Bayonne, New Jersey, was pictured covered in dust after the World Trade Center was hit by two passenger jets. She was inside one of the Twin Towers at the time of the attack but managed to escape the building onto the street below.

She died in the hospital on Monday night at around 11:10 p.m. ET, according to her brother Michael Borders.

9/11 ‘Dust Lady’ Marcy Borders dies after battle with stomach cancer.

The famous photo shows Marcy Borders, a Bank of America employee at the time, distraught and covered in dust in the aftermath of the attacks in Lower Manhattan.

The Bayonne native fell into a decade-long depression that led her to abuse alcohol and drugs after her traumatic experience on 9/11. In 2011, Borders checked into rehab, and has stayed clean since, she told The Jersey Journal last year.

Borders, a mother of two, was just getting back into the working world — helping with a candidate’s local campaign for mayor — when her doctor told her in August 2014 that she had stomach cancer.

Borders, 41 at the time, told The Jersey Journal in November that she had undergone chemotherapy and that she was scheduled to undergo surgery in December and then radiation and chemotherapy afterward.

At the time, she wondered aloud if her cancer was related to 9/11.

Mullah Omar, Dead or Alive? The Afghan Government Says Dead

Mullah Omar, is he dead or alive? Preferably, the latter.  Omar was the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan who was wanted by the United States for sheltering  al Qaeda terrorist Osama bin Laden for years prior to the  9/11 attacks.  The Afghan government has confirmed Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has been dead since 2013; however, the Afghan president’s and prime minister’s offices offered no specifics as to how or when Omar died. However, final confirmation is needed.

The Afghan government confirmed Wednesday it was looking into reports that longtime Taliban leader Mullah Omar had died.

“We have also seen reports in the media on the death of Mullah Omar, we are assessing those reports,” President Ashraf Ghani’s deputy spokesperson Zafar Hashemi told journalists during a press conference.

Rumors have swirled for years that the one-eyed leader of the militant group that ruled Afghanistan until being toppled by U.S.-backed forces 2001 had passed away. The State Department was offering a $10-million reward for information leading to him.

Earlier Wednesday, an Afghan intelligence official told NBC News the government had come to the conclusion Omar had died.

The source who spoke to NBC News on condition of anonymity said that the issue of Mullah Omar’s death was raised at a meeting with security ministers and members of the country’s high peace council, which is negotiating with the militants.

Radio Free Europe – Afghan Officials Says Taliban Leader Mullah Omar Dead.

Zafar Hashemi, a spokesman for Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, told reporters in Kabul on July 29: “We have received reports about Taliban leader Mullah Omar’s death. At this point, we can’t confirm or deny it. We are assessing the reports.”

There was no immediate reaction to the reports by Afghanistan’s Taliban.

The Taliban’s official spokesmen have repeatedly denied previous reports of Mullah Omar’s death.

But Fidai Mahaz, a splinter group of the Taliban that does not support peace talks with the Afghan government, announced last week earlier that Mullah Omar was dead and had been replaced by Taliban deputy leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur.

The reports of Mullah Omar’s death by authorities in Kabul comes at a critical time, with a second round of peace talks between Taliban representatives and Afghan government negotiators scheduled in Pakistan on July 31.

GW Students Unaware of 9/11 Anniversary, Or Journalist’s Names Beheaded by ISIS … But Are Able to Name Celebrities Involved in Nude Photo Scandal

SAD, JUST PLAIN SAD … SO MUCH FOR A COLLEGE EDUCATION THESE DAYS.

The Young America’s Foundation released a VIDEO on Wednesday, a day before the 13th anniversary of 9-11, where George Washington students were asked whether they were aware of the significance of the date and whether they knew the names of the two American journalists who were recently beheaded by the terrorist group ISIS. Pathetically, for the most part, they had no idea. Oh but fear not for the future America, most all could name the celebrities involved in the recent nude pic hacking scandal.

Other than the two co-eds in the beginning of the VIDEO who seem to have a clue and up on current affairs and know their history, perhaps the best answer of anyone in this VIDEO was when asked by the YAF spokeswoman  Ashley Pratte asked about President Obama’s strategy for dealing with ISIS. One girl responded, ”Does he have one?”

The results of the study:

• 29 of 30 (97%) students could could name a celebrity involved in the nude hacking scandal.
• 4 of 30 (13%) could name either of the American journalists, James Foley or Steven Sotloff.
• 6 in 30 (20%) knew this week was the anniversary of 9-11. What’s even more tragic is not only have these kids forgotten, they may never have known.

Maybe we have finally figured out how to get the youth vote … just have all the candidates in their political ads be in their birthday suits?
