ARKANSAS SENATE ELECTION 2014 – Tom Cotton (R) – Incumbent Mark Pryor (D) … (UPDATE: ABC News Calling Race for Republican Tom Cotton … GOP+2)
+2 FOR THE GOP FOR CONTROL OF THE US SENATE …
ABC NEWS is calling the US Senate race in Arkansas for Republican challenger Tom Cotton over incumbent Democrat Sen. Mark Pryor. With less than 1% of the vote counted, the GOP now has a net gain of 2 for the night in the battle for control of the US Senate. CNN has called the race as well for Tom Cotton. The GOP is now 4 seats away from control of the Senate.
Republicans are moving closer to winning the Senate by picking up Democratic-held seats in West Virginia and Arkansas, according to CNN projections.
They GOP now needs a net gain of four seats to claim the Senate for the first time since the administration of George W. Bush. A GOP win would mark a rebuke for President Barack Obama and could set the ideological battle lines for the 2016 presidential election.

VP Joe Biden With Big Gaffe … Blows So-Called Independent Greg Orman’s Cover in Kansas Senate Race …”He ‘Will Be With Us”
Did VP Joe Biden just make the gaffe or all gaffes that could cost so-called Independent Greg Orman the Kansas Senate election?
During an interview today with Connecticut radio station WPLR, Joe Biden made a remark that many “Jay Hawk” voters better take notice of before they cast their vote today. Biden was asked whether he thought the Democrats would retain control of the US Senate and what key battleground states are important to Democrats.Biden said, “We have a chance of picking up an independent who will be with us in the state of Kansas.” REALLY? Hey Kansas voters, Biden is referring to the so-called Independent Greg Orman. Hmm … Biden already knows that Orman is going to caucus with them … THAT HARDLY SEEMS INDEPENDENT NOW, DOES IT!
WAKE UP KANSAS AND VOTE FOR PAT ROBERTS!!!
Vice President Joe Biden blew Kansas independent Greg Orman’s cover in a radio interview today. Orman hasn’t stated which party he’ll caucus with in the Senate–actively avoiding announcing whether he’ll be with Republicans or Democrats–but Biden stated definitively that Orman “will be with us” if he’s elected.
“We have a chance of picking up an independent who will be with us in the state of Kansas,” said Biden, as he predicted the outcomes of various Senate races around the country.
Orman has stated that he’ll caucus with whichever party holds the balance of power in Kansas, but Republicans have long suspected he’s likely to join the Democrats’ side. Biden seemed to confirm that belief in this interview.
More from HOT AIR:
Given the lengths to which Democratic groups have gone to stealthily support Orman’s candidacy, Republicans who turn out to vote Orman are likely doing so at this point out of an all-consuming hatred for the unpopular incumbent, Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS). That’s forgivable, but it is not particularly rational – particularly if those Republican voters also hope to relegate Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) to the minority in the 115th Congress.

SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE ELECTION 2014 – Tim Scott (R) – Joyce Dickerson (D) (UPDATE: SCOTT WINS!!! and oh yeah, Lindsey Graham Wins Reelection)
Scott becomes the first black candidate to win a statewide race since just after the Civil War and the first African-American senator from the South since Reconstruction. So much for the racist Republican fear mongering from the Democrats.
South Carolina voters have sent Republican Tim Scott back to the U.S. Senate, making him the first black candidate to win a statewide race since just after the Civil War.
Scott was declared the winner based on projections from exit poll data.
Scott has served in the U.S. Senate since January 2013, appointed to the post by Gov. Nikki Haley after Jim DeMint resigned. He has spent his time quietly building support back home and expanding his base from Charleston. His seat will be up for re-election for a full term in 2016.
Scott is also the first African-American senator from the South since Reconstruction.

WEST VIRGINIA SENATE ELECTION 2014 – Shelley Moore Capito (R) – Natalie Tennant (D) (Update: Race Called for Republican Shelley Moore Capito … +1
+1 FOR THE GOP FOR CONTROL OF THE US SENATE
The race has been called in West Virginia for Republican Shelley Moore Capito over Democrat Natalie Tennant . Shelley Moore Capito becomes the first women Senator ever elected in West VA. Hmm, so much for the Republican war on women, eh? Shelley Moore Capito will win Senate seat in West Virginia vacated by retiring Democrat Jay Rockefeller, the GOP’s first pickup in its fight to win control of the Senate.
Shelley Moore Capito
UPDATE I: Republicans Pick Up Senate Seat As Capito Becomes First GOP Senator From W.Va. In Nearly 55 Years.
Republican Shelley Moore Capito soundly defeated Democrat Natalie Tennant to win West Virginia’s open U.S. Senate seat Tuesday, a key victory in Republicans’ push to seize a majority from Democrats.
The seven-term congresswoman will become West Virginia’s first female in the Senate, and its first Republican senator in about 55 years. Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller is retiring after about three decades.
Capito’s win highlights the shift toward the GOP in a state that has long been Democratic. Capito tied Tennant to President Barack Obama at every turn and West Virginia’s secretary of state apparently wasn’t able to shake it. Obama, who lost all 55 counties in 2012, has horrendous approval ratings in West Virginia.
