GOP Senatorial Candidate Gabriel Gomez Calls Democrat Opponent Rep. Ed Markey “Pond Scum” After Being Compared to Osama Bin Laden

Massachusetts US Senate Race: With all due respect to pond scum …

Massachusetts Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez called opponent Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) “pond scum” during a recent interview. Gomez did so in a response to a question regarding a dirty and disgusting ad where his opponent Ed Markey compared Gomez, a former Navy SEAL, to Osama bin Laden in an internet video that placed their images side-by-side. As Gomez stated during his interview, maybe Markey does doe realize that it was Navy Seals who actually killed Bin Laden? The internet video is truly reprehensible. For Markey to put out his first video comparing Gomez to Bin Laden, because Gomez was critical of President Obama because they released so much classified information on the Navy Seals regarding the raid that killed Bin Laden that puts the troops in harms way.

“I don’t think there’s anything more offensive,” Gomez said. “You know I’ve got four young kids,
and they gotta sit there and gotta see an ad with their dad — who served honorably,
talk to anybody I served with — whether as a pilot or as a SEAL, anybody I worked with.
And for him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, like to put me up next to bin Laden,
he’s just gotta be called what he is. It’s that simple.”

Gomez  went on to say, Congressman Markey has been around for 40 years, he know what he is doing. Hmm, I thought we honored Navy Seals who defend America’s freedoms and liberties. Guess not when it comes to Massachusetts liberal Ed Markey. Is this what we need in the US Senate? Funny how Barack Obama used the death of Bin Laden and the heroic efforts of our US Navy Seals for his political advantage and his photo-op of Obama in the “Situation Room” yet Obama was no where to be found when the Benghazi Consulate was being attacked by terrorists, Ambassador Stevens was missing and they were begging for help.

Politico Reports Washington, DC Has Turned on Barack Obama … Rats Fleeing the S.S Obama … Obama Knows Nothing

Is it true, has DC turned on Barack Obama … Can You Say Watergate II? Are the rats jumping off the SS. Obama?

With the Obama administration facing three scandals simultaneously, Benghazi-gate, IRS-gate and AP-gate, the good ship Democrat S.S. Obama is looking more like the RMS Titanic these days. Barack Obama is beginning to make Richard Nixon look like a choir boy. But what did everyone expect, Obama’s “Chicago-style” politics has been taking place for years. It is only now that the MSM is being forced to cover it and Democrats are forced to acknowledge it. Democrats are fleeing the ship and the liberal MSM seems not far behind. So is as the Politico asks, has DC turned on Obama? I am not sure if I buy some of the Politico premise that the “establishment” Democrats and the MSM did not like Obama. Sorry, they have bent over backwards for this man and shoved legislation like Obamacare down the throats of Americans. The MSM has carried the water for this president and had they done their job, as they are being forced to now, Barack Obama may never have been elected in 2008 and definitely not in 2012. Democrats are fleeing Obama because “The One” is a lame duck, second term president with no more elections. However, Democrats who want to stay in power see Obama and his far too many scandals as an anchor. The MSM, after all the propaganda that they have spewed on to “We the People,” the AP scandal has forced them into a “come to Jesus” moment. Suddenly, the folks that made Obama have been slighted, more than normal by this administration. The MSM has suddenly realized that they have been defending Richard Milhous Nixon.

The one thing that rings most true in all of this is that Conservative and Tea Party folks have been vindicated in their complaints about President Barack Obama and his administration. The Left, Democrats and the MSM can no longer say their accusations are unwarranted and that they are just acting with partisan “sour grapes”. They were targeted and it is a fact … “NOT IF”. But suddenly Obama seems to have amnesia and has become Sgt. Schultz as he “knows nothing” of any of the scandals.

The town is turning on President Obama — and this is very bad news for this White House.

Republicans have waited five years for the moment to put the screws to Obama — and they have one-third of all congressional committees on the case now. Establishment Democrats, never big fans of this president to begin with, are starting to speak out. And reporters are tripping over themselves to condemn lies, bullying and shadiness in the Obama administration.

Buy-in from all three D.C. stakeholders is an essential ingredient for a good old-fashioned Washington pile-on — so get ready for bad stories and public scolding to pile up.

Vernon Jordan, a close adviser to President Bill Clinton through his darkest days, told us: “It’s never all right if you’re the president. There is no smooth sailing. So now he has the turbulence, and this is the ultimate test of his leadership.” Jordan says Obama needs to do something dramatic on the IRS, and quick: “He needs to fire somebody. He needs action, not conversation.”

Obama’s aloof mien and holier-than-thou rhetoric have left him with little reservoir of good will, even among Democrats. And the press, after years of being accused of being soft on Obama while being berated by West Wing aides on matters big and small, now has every incentive to be as ruthless as can be.

SS-Obama

With Democrats and the MSM turning on Obama it should make for a good reality TV … ‘When Libs attack One Another.’ Gone is defending Obama and his agenda at all cost as it might just cost Democrat House and Senate politicians their political career. The 2014 and 2016 elections are not that far off and self-preservation is the name of the game in DC. To make matters worse for Democrats, the front-runner Hillary Clinton does not have clean hands either.

UPDATE I: More from Instapundit on President Barack Obama knowing nothing and doing his best imitation of ‘Hogan’s Hero’s’ Sgt. Schultz … As it turns out, that is exactly what Richard Nixon said as well. So what is worse, a president with three scandals he is complicit with, or a president that has no control of his administration and is completely over his head? Both are damning to America.

Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) to Retire in 2014 … Stated Last Week, Obamacare was a “Train Wreck”

Another one bites the dust at the hands of Obamacare … Another opening for the GOP in 2014. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, the Democrat Senator from Montana announced that he will not run for reelection in 2014 and instead retire. According to the Washington Post, rather than face a tough election, Baucus would rather retire. The six term Senator obviously sees the handwriting on the wall. Obamacare is still unpopular and going to get worse as America wakes up and realizes the expensive boongoogle that it is. Baucus was a key player and played a critical role in writing President Obama’s national health-care plan, Obamacare. However, last week Baucus referred to the Obamacare as a train wreck. Think the conservative state of Montana was not going to hold that against him in 2014? Also, just last week he also voted the expand back ground checks on the purchase of guns. Don’t worry Max, not like Montana is one of the states with the highest gun ownership at 57.7%. Oh wait, it is.

Baucus, 71, first elected in 1978,has been the top Democrat on the powerful committee since 2001. At times infuriating his Democratic colleagues, Baucus worked with Republicans to co-write the Bush-era tax cuts and the Medicare prescription drug plan, but he also served as the lead defender against George W. Bush’s 2005 effort to partially privatize Social Security and played a critical role in writing President Obama’s national health-care plan. Baucus, from conservative-leaning Montana, has voted against Democratic initiatives on some social issues, most recently last week’s effort to create an expanded background check system for gun purchases. Republicans have been trying to land a top recruit to challenge Baucus, who despite his unpolished public image has been one of the savviest political operators among Mountain West Democrats.

As Weasel Zippers stated, it was obvious that Baucus’s polling showed that because of his liberal ways, he was going to get crushed. According to PPP polling, Baucus was already running 5 points behind hypothetical Republican candidates, although he may never have made it out of the Democrat primary. This does not bode well for Democrats in the Senate. If the GOP could actually get their collective heads out of their RINO, establishment butts, they should take this seat. According to Charlie Cook this moves the seat into the toss-up category. Democrats, so far, have to defend 21 seats, while Republicans have to defend 14. The GOP needs a net gain of 6 seats to regain the Senate. Although, Wake Up America opines that out of the 21 Democratically held seats, seven of them are in states carried by the former Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, while just one of the Republican seats is in a state won by President Obama. Are they just getting old or has the Obama bloom truly come off the rose? Baucus joins five other committee chairmen who have decided to retire rather than run for reelection, including Sens. John D. “Jay” Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), 75, chairman of the commerce committee, and Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), 73, chairman of the health committee. In the 2010 and 2012 election seasons, several other chairmen, including Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) and Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), opted to retire.

Easter Sunday, a Day of Rest … Not For Democrat as Obama, Pelosi, McAuliffe Issue Easter Sunday Fundraising Appeals

What ever happened to separation of Church and State?

The Democrats just have no shame and no understanding that there needs to be a day of rest from their political begging for money. Sunday, a day of rest from the political beg for money? Nope, not for Democrats. Then again, they believe that Democrat party politics is a religion. As reported at the Washington Times, at least three top party officials dispatched fundraising emails Sunday.  They went so far as to have the DCCC send out an updated fundraising email  from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi that didn’t even mention Easter … “We could really do this! If we can hit 200,000 donations before tonight’s FEC deadline, it would send a blistering message to Speaker Boehner and the Republicans. Donate $3 before MIDNIGHT and your gift will be triple-matched.”  Good grief, give it a rest.  What would Jesus say?

Easter Sunday is not a day of rest for the Democrats’ moneychangers. At least three top party officials dispatched fundraising emails Sunday in their bid to reach loyal Democrats in between church and Easter dinner.

It’s just the latest sign that politics and fundraising have become as regular as shopping at Sears or Walmart, which also open on Easter.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Sunday morning sent out an updated fundraising note from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi that didn’t even mention Easter.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) says Democrats are “in the red” and are broke. That’s ok Debbie, thanks to Barack Obama and Democrats, so is America.

66 Year Old Democrat Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota to Announce Retirement, Will Not Seek Reelection in 2014

Another challenge for Democrats and Harry Reid to hold the majority in 2014 …

United States Democrat Senator Tim Johnson from South Dakota does not plan to run for reelection in 2014 and is retiring. According to Roll Call, Johnson will announce his retirement plans on Tuesday.  The 66 year old Democratic chairman of the banking committee proves to leave a void for Democrats in the Senate and a possible loss for the Donkeys in the conservative leaning state. Tim Johnson was elected to the Senate in 1997 after representing South Dakota in the House of Representatives. In 2006, Johnson had a leave from the Senate when a blood vessel bursting in his brain. Many thought he would retire at that time. We wish him well.

Senator Tim Johnson, the Democratic chairman of the powerful banking committee, does not plan to run for re-election when his current term ends in 2014, two sources familiar with the matter and a Capitol Hill staffer said on Monday.

Johnson, 66, a three-term senator from South Dakota, has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday in his home state to discuss what his aides described as “his future plans.”

His retirement would leave a vacant seat in a conservative-leaning state that could be difficult for Democrats to defend as they try to protect their majority in the Senate.

Political analysts expect Johnson’s son, Brendan Johnson, who is South Dakota’s U.S. attorney, to emerge as a potential Democratic candidate in the 2014 election. The younger Johnson has not announced any formal plans to seek the Senate seat.

Democrats face an uphill battle to retain the Senate in 2014 as the following Democratic Senators have announced they will be retiring: Tom Harkin of Iowa, Levin of Michigan, Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey and Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia. Republicans Saxby Chambliss of Georgia and Mike Johanns of Nebraska also have said they will not run for re-election; however, these are both pretty safe GOP states.

However, if the GOP wants to win back the Senate, they best get their act together and worry less about pandering to groups they have no chance of winning and worry about their base. Republicans need to figure out what they stand for and what has brought them victories in the past.
