More Tolerance From the Liberal Loony Left; Ann Coulter Part II

WARNING SOME GRAPHIC WORDS IN THIS POST

What seems to be a once if not twice a week occurrence these days as Republican pundits try and exercise their free speech comes this escalation of hatred. We have posted previously that something needs to be done at these events to protect the speakers before the “tolerance” of the Left gets out of control and someone gets hurt.

Last night at The University of Texas, the left went one step further as Ann Coulter was making a speech. After continual heckling the student decided to cross the boundaries of civility and managed to get himself arrested. ITS ABOUT TIME THESE IDIOTS WERE ARRESTED AND SHOWN THAT THEIR ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

(Via Drudge) Incessant heckling and shouting culminated in an arrest Tuesday night during a speech by controversialist Ann Coulter at the University of Texas at Austin.

THE TEXAN reports: Shouts became so pervasive during the question-and-answer session that Coulter informed the organizers she would no longer take questions if the hecklers were not silenced. For a time, the shouts were considerably lessened, until the issue of gay marriage was broached.

Coulter said she supported the definition of marriage as between a man and a woman on the basis that a good woman civilizes and inspires a man to strive for something better, leading to a question that was met with a stunned silence.

“You say that you believe in the sanctity of marriage,” said Ajai Raj, an English sophomore. “How do you feel about marriages where the man does nothing but f*@k his wife up the ass?”

UT Police officers approached Raj to arrest him, resulting in a mass exodus of protesters chanting, “Let him go.”

“The person had been disruptive the entire event,” said Matt Hardigree, former Student Events Center president. “He took the opportunity to say something lewd and offensive and then made masturbatory gestures as he exited.”

Hardigree said that Cheryl Wood from the Office of the Dean of Students spoke with some of the protesters before the event, and assorted members of the Distinguished Speakers Committee asked them to sit in the back if they had signs and to leave quietly if they wanted to leave.

According to Jeffrey Stockerwell, a friend of Raj, officers violently seized Raj and illegally searched him after his question.

Police have charged Raj with disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor.

Representatives of the Austin People’s Legal Collective were taking statements from everyone at the scene, in case it should be taken to court.

The booing began early into Coulter’s speech, when she issued a joke to pro-choice advocates.

“I wonder why those ‘I Heart Partial-Birth Abortion’ T-shirts aren’t selling better,” she said, followed by a combination of cheers and jeers.

One student asked Coulter why universities and institutions place microphones in front of Coulter when she advocates terrorism against liberals, prompting Coulter to mention the strength of her book sales. Coulter has had four New York Times best sellers.

The $30,000 event was co-sponsored by the Texas Union Student Events Center and Student Endowed Centennial Lectureship Committee.

The entire story from THE DAILY TEXAN can be seen here.

Liberals, Socialists and wayward German Green Party members also have the right to stand in the back of the room holding signs. They the right to ask questions. They have even have the right to be part of the event by dominating the questions.

They do not, however, have the right to destroy the event by being disruptive and vulgar.

Does the left realize how ridiculous they look to the rest of the country? Do they realize that they are the reason why Democrats lose elections? Do they realize how absolutely childish, sophomoric and asinine they appear to serious minded people. Hell, do they realize what they look like to people who barley pay attention to politics?

This is the image of the Left and it is fodder for Republicans. I have spoke to many an Independent, moderate Republican and Southern Democrat and they in no uncertain terms have made it known that they could never support a party that has an element like this that supports it.

As I have always said, Freedom of Speech is a double edge sword. Be careful of what you say, people are listening.

War on Terrorism – A GREAT CAPTURE in Pakistan, ABU FARRAJ AL-LIBBI

Looks like we can fight a War on Terrorism and one in Iraq at the same time. How is this possible Democrats?

From the Fox News: Pakistan arrests Abu Farraj al-Libbi, a senior Al Qaeda suspect wanted in two attempts to assassinate President Gen. Pervez Musharraf.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Abu Farraj al-Libbi, a senior Al Qaeda suspect wanted in two attempts to assassinate President Gen. Pervez Musharraf, has been arrested in Pakistan, the government said Wednesday.

Al-Libbi, a native of Libya with a $1 million bounty on his head, was arrested earlier this week, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told The Associated Press.

“This is a very important day for us,” Ahmed said. He would provide no details on where al-Libbi was captured, or where he is being held.

Officials said earlier Wednesday that they were questioning two foreigners on suspicion of links with Al Qaeda.

Two security officials who spoke on condition of anonymity said the suspects were captured after a shootout Monday in Mardan, about 30 miles north of Peshawar, capital of the deeply conservative North West Frontier Province.

“They are in the custody of a Pakistani intelligence agency,” one official said. He declined to give more details, including the suspects’ nationalities.

Al-Libbi is accused of masterminding two bombings against Musharraf in December 2003. The military leader escaped injury but 17 others were killed.

Personally, I believe Pakistan could do a much better job in help capturing these terrorist scum, but with the tenuous situation of President Gen. Pervez Musharraf it is somewhat understandable. Not completely acceptable, but understandable to a point. News like the capture and arrest of the Al Qaeda’s #3 man in Pakistan is great news and hopefully a sign of things to come. Little by little we are breaking down the infrastructure of their network.

My Pet Jawa has further information on the capture as well as flyer’s of Pakistan’s most wanted. Rusty makes a great point, “How much money is being offered by the U.S. for the capture of the terrorist scumbags holding Roy Hallums, Dean Sadek, or Jeffrey Ake?”

UPDATE: At the Captain’s Quarters has more on the arrest of the man that tried to assassinate Musharraf twice. I agree with the captain, let’s hope the Pakistanis can get valuable information from him.

UPDATE: A little more info from, Secular Blashemy, “Top Al-Qaeda terrorist arrested”

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin gets in the fray and has reaction from President Bush praising the arrest.

Ever Wonder Why Medical Claims Get Denied for No Apparent Reason

There are many an insurance company out there that deny claims for no reason other than to stall out the payment of a claim in a timely manner. Insurance carriers will either deny the claim outright or only pay a portion of the claim. The philosophy is that the patient or the physician will tire in the process of recouping payment and either not think the balance is worth the hassle or just write it off as noncollectable. I have dealt with the following insurance carrier on many occasions as can honestly say it could happen to a better carrier. These two have been weighed and measured. Having battled these insurance carriers on numerous occasions, like yesterday, this has been a long time in coming. From (AP) comes the settlement.

Health Net Inc. and Prudential Insurance Company of America have agreed to pay more than $80 million to settle claims that they routinely skimped on payments to more than 700,000 physicians.

Health Net will give $40 million to pay claims from doctors and up to $20 million for attorneys fees, the company said. It also agreed to create a better definition of medical necessity for procedures that doctors perform and a streamlined system for physician complaints and payments, moves expected to cost more than $80 million over four years.

The Los Angeles-based company said it will record a pretax charge of about $66 million against earnings in the first quarter due to the settlement.

“This will allow us to continue to enhance our working relationship with the physicians who serve our members. It will put a potentially contentious matter behind us,” said Jay Gellert, president and chief executive officer of Health Net.

Prudential agreed to give $22.2 million to pay for efforts to monitor and improve compliance by health maintenance organizations. The New York-based company has sold its HMO business to Aetna. A phone message left with Prudential was not returned.

“This represents a large step forward in the litigation and improvement in the health care delivery system,” said Harley Tropin, an attorney for the doctors.

A hearing to get preliminary approval from U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno was set for Friday, and a final hearing will be set later. Moreno’s approval would protect Health Net against lawsuits filed in the past decade by physicians and physicians groups.

The doctors alleged that the HMOs conspired from 1990 to 2002 to program their computers to systematically underpay doctors for their services.

Health Net and Prudential were two of eight original defendants. Aetna and Cigna already have settled. Doctors are still pursuing their claims against Anthem, Coventry, United Health and Wellpoint. The case is set for trial in Miami in September.

“We’re delighted to have settled, and we look forward to trying the rest of the case against the rest of the defendants in September,” Tropin said.

“The remaining defendants continue to prepare for trial and remain confident in their position,” their spokesman Mike Hotra said.

Alternative Fuel; Talk About NIMBY

According to AP: Animal Waste will be studied as a potential energy source.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) – The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is looking to become the first zoo in the nation to be powered by its own animal waste – particularly the prodigious piles produced by its pachyderms.

The zoo – world prominent for its Asian elephant breeding program – is studying how feasible it would be to switch to animal waste as an alternative energy source to reduce its $400,000 annual heating and electricity bill.

The zoo’s six elephants produce more than 1,000 pounds of dung per day, said Zoo Director Anne Baker

In the United States, a number of farms have used animal waste to produce power, so the technology is available to apply at the zoo, said John Fox of Homeland Energy Resources Development, a New York City-based renewable energy developer assisting with the study.

But there are questions to be answered to know whether it can be worthwhile, he said.

Isn’t that the real question with most alternative fuel? Is it worth while and cost effective. However, might I add to all those Libs who commented on our previous post, More Oil Refineries, HELL YES . Which one of you referencing alternative fuels volunteers to have 1,000 pounds of elephant dung delivered next door to you? I’m waiting.

Moral Low With Terrorist; Is There any Zoloft in the House?

Rusty at The Jawa Report is posting that according to Newsweek, The US military intercepted a letter it believes was addressed to terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The U.S. military released on Tuesday a letter it believes was addressed to terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi from an underling complaining that incompetence of leaders in his al-Qaida in Iraq network is hurting morale among his fighters.

The writer of the letter complains about some of the middle ranks of al-Qaida leaders in Iraq — the “emirs,” Arabic for “princes” — and asks the sheik to “test those who are below you. Some of them are … oppressors and some of them are not so.”

“Morale is weakening and there is (exhaustion or confusion) among the ranks on the mujahedeen, and some of the brother emirs are discriminating among them. God does not accept such actions,” the writer says, according to an AP translation of the copy provided by the military. “We have found emirs who are not fit for leadership.”

So what will it be a prescription of Zoloft, Prozac or Paxil for the insurgents TERRORISTS? I am surprised; however, I should not speak too soon that the MSM has not blamed our military for creating this mental anguish upon the terrorists.

This is either a great find by the US military in Iraq or an even more brilliant misinformation campaign to discredit al-Zarqawi and senior al-Qaida in the eyes of the Muslim world.

He appears to give his side of a particular incident, saying his fighters got confused orders over whether to carry out suicide operations or go home and were abused by their superiors. “This came after humiliation and rude treatment and many other things. Who can tolerate all this?”

He appears to chide the sheik for not being as close as he once was with the fighters. “The situation is not the way it used to be in Fallujah, when you used to come and visit us and we used to enjoy sitting with you. The situation has completely changed,” he writes.
