Harry Reid; If GWB is such a Loser, What Does that make You?
One really has to wonder about the comment that Senator Minority Leader, Harry Reid, said last week. One has to continue to wonder what strategy Democrats have today that is any different from the failed one that has seen them lose 3 straight elections including unprecedented mid-term losses of House and Senate seats.
It begs the question; Senator Reid, if President George W. Bush is such “a loser“, what does that make you and the Democratic Party? Reid also went on to say, “I think President Bush is doing a bad job.”
What a predicament the Minority Leader finds himself in. He makes a foolish comment and then apologizes for it.
After the statement was released, Reid phoned the Review-Journal to acknowledge he thought he crossed the line.
Then because he must pander to the Left wing of his party, Senator Reid has to all of a sudden act like he is being defiant as earlier posted.
However, back to the point that President Bush is a loser. Does a loser do the following:
Created a total of 420,000 new payroll jobs during the months of March and April.
Lower U.S. trade deficit More here.
Destroyed the Taliban
Creates environment in Iraq for democratic elections to take place.
Jobless Claims falling. Report.
Housing Prices keep rising
Productivity Up
Unemployment rates among minorities down
Could someone please tell me what Democrats are doing besides whining?
As I said, if GWB is a loser what does that exactly make the Democrats other than truly hateful and pathetic.
When Will Schools Start Using Some “Condom” Sense
There is a time and a place for everything. No matter what side of the sex education issue you are on lets all agree that Middle School is hardly the place for a condom distribution. Not for some Wisconsin middle-school students who got to bring home some surprise souvenirs for their parents.
An AIDS education group was handing out the prophylactics at the health fair organized by North Central Health Care in Wausau. The idea was to educate the middle-schoolers on the dangers of alcohol and drugs.
School district official Roger Rindo said administrators didn’t know about the condom giveaway in advance.
At what part of this story does any rational, common sense thinking adult say,
HOW THE HELL DOES A SCHOOL PARTAKE IN SUCH AN EVENT AND NOT ASK WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THE EVENT, LIKE GIVING AWAY CONDOMS?
So what are parents of this district suppose to think? Either the school knew and thought it wouldn’t be an issue or they are incompetent and didn’t bother to ask. Which is worse?
From the Beloit Daily News, a more personalized story of the actual account.
He said, ‘Look what they gave us,”‘ Eggebrecht, said. “He was real honest. … I was just shocked that he came home with it.”
Reid Failing to Learn from his Predecessors Mistakes (aka, Lessons of BlogNashville)
It still seems that Nevada Senator Harry Reid still does not get it. Some how Senator Reid thinks its OK to speak is mind and in the process demean others while making an ass out of himself. Since his ill-fated words last week calling the President “a loser,” then apologizing; Senator Reid still appears that he has learned nothing and is back at it again this week.
I tell people how I feel about things. I don’t try to hide how I feel,” Reid said.
“Maybe my choice of words was improper, and I have indicated that maybe they were, but I want everyone here, I repeat, to know I’m going to continue to call things the way that I see them, and I think this administration has done a very, very bad job for this nation and the world.”
Senator Reid would probably be better served to stop the politics of everyday hateful rhetoric and start acting like an adult. Last weeks comment, referring to George W. Bush as “a loser” did exactly what for the Democratic Party, the United States and the political discourse? What does one expect from the people who follow such leaders but more hate and nonsense? One does wonder what Harry Reid is thinking in that his predecessor, Tom Daschle, met his demise in the exact same way. Being in a party of “no” and obstructionism is one thing; however, to just spew out hateful and childish rhetoric is another. Personally, it shows just how shallow the Party has gotten. This did not come from a US Representative from some small part of New England, it came from the Democratic Senate Minority Leader. If he cannot stand up and “act like he’s been there,” who will?
To borrow some teachings from BlogNashville and the ever talked about “Respectful Disagreement” seminar I pose the question to Dave Winer. First for those who did not attend BlogNashville, the seminar on “Respectful Disagreement” was pretty much anything but. Let’s just say it got a little out of hand and it had all the congeniality of a Godzilla vs. Megalon movie. The aftermath of posts between InstaPundit and Dave is a macrocosm of the seminar itself. I am not even sure if I buy the “shared values” aspect as my position as a blogger is to express an opinion and persuade no different than I do in real life away from the key board. To cut to the chase the mood in the room can best be described by a comment from Stan Brown, the man who dared to laugh at Dave Winer:
No you don’t. An hour and a half is a very, very, very long time sometimes.
I suspect that the only people who will ever watch the full hour and a half video will be those with a morbid fascination for train wrecks, a sick sense of humor, masochists or someone looking for a text on how NOT to moderate a discussion.
Even an eccentric like John Jay Hooker was wondering if Winer had mental problems.
Question: Would this be an example of what not to do and how does one get to shared values when a political leader of Reid’s stature in the Democratic party fires the first volley of such hateful rhetoric? I can only wonder if any one of us had stood up and called you the same what the reaction would have been? Wouldn’t Harry Reid be an example of that 10% that needs to be flushed out as he serves no functional purpose in intelligent political dialog?

“Run, this is no joke, leave the grounds,” a U.S. Secret Service agent told CNN White House Correspondent Suzanne Malveaux.
Update: According to Fox News – OK given to return
CNN: An all-clear announcement was issued about 15 minutes after the alert
Michelle Malkin has an interesting view from the Left moonbat point of view. One wonders how such events can be considered a laughing matter. From the pages of DU come the pointless and irrelevant. Does anyone really wonder why the Democratic Party is not in power with folks like this supporting them? Simply shameless.
DNC Chairman Dean Endorses the Socialist Bernie Sanders
Well that did not take long. Yesterday I predicted that the hoopla regarding whether the Democrats would support Socialist Bernie Sanders was pretty much wishful thinking on the part of Republicans. Sure enough, a day later and the point is moot. The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Howard Dean, will support Socialist Bernie Sanders for the VT Senate seat of the retiring Jim Jeffords.
Breaking party lines, former Gov. Howard Dean said Monday he supports Rep. Bernard Sanders’ bid for the U.S. Senate, saying the Independent makes a “strong candidate.”
“A victory for Bernie Sanders is a win for Democrats,” Dean said in a telephone interview Monday.
Rather interesting and this should be news to many middle of the road Democrats in the South, Midwest and Southwest that a win for a “socialist” like Bernie Sanders is the same as that of a Democrat. So from the mouth of the Chairman of the Democratic party comes the connection that socialists and Democrats have the same agenda.
One would think that a socialist like Sanders would have been more of a free spirit and not attach himself to one of the main political parties. After all, isn’t that why he has been a socialist all these years and not a democrat?
Or can the situation be explained more to the point that the Democratic party has become so liberal leaning that there is no difference anymore between a Socialist and a Democrats? I think a lot of Democrats better take a good look and see just what exactly their national party has become.

Update: Polls show Sanders way out in front.
No kidding. Does one really need to take a poll to figure that a Socialist would be winning hands down when running for office from The Socialists Republic of VT?
