Violence in Uzbekistan

Thousands of people took the streets in violence in Uzbekistan.

Thousands of people, many of them armed, took to the streets of an eastern Uzbek city on Friday, demanding freedom for 23 prominent businessmen on trial for alleged ties to an Islamic terror group. The protest quickly turned violent, with nine people reported killed and dozens wounded in clashes with police.

The Gateway Pundit is the place to go for such world events. A brilliant job of covering the event.

Outrage over the terror trial of 23 Muslims exploded into broader unrest in eastern Uzbekistan on Friday when armed protesters stormed a jail to free defendants, clashing with police in violence that brought thousands of protesters into the streets. At least nine people were killed and dozens wounded, witnesses and officials said.

One protester, who put the death toll as high as 20, said 30 soldiers were being held hostage because they were shooting at demonstrators. Two of the dead were children, Sharif Shakirov, a brother of one of the defendants told The Associated Press.

Could It Be True; Zarqawi Killed?

There has been some rumblings over the internet, but this would not be the first time this story was rumored. It was first posted yesterday at The Jawa Report that AL-Zarqawi was “serious injured, possibly dead.” Also, it is believed that according to this account, “Zarqawi was to have been injured in the major offensive, Operation Matador, US-led forces have been carrying out in the western Anbar province over the last few days.”

Baghdad, 11 May (AKI) – The Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is “serious injured, possibly dead” according to Colonel Fouad Hani Hassan, commander of the fifth division of the Iraqi armed forces, cited by ‘Elaph’, a popular website in the Arab world. Al-Zarqawi, considered al-Qaeda’s leader in Iraq, is believed to have been injured in the major offensive US-led forces have been carrying out in the western Anbar province over the last few days.

While Operation Matador is not specifically aimed at catching al-Zarqawi, Brig. Gen. James Conway told a Pentagon news briefing on Tuesday that “it would be a welcome event to come across him or his body.”

Today from the Gateway Pundit comes even more sources referencing the possible death of Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi via Hammorabi

Despite the increase in the terrorists attacks in Baghdad the terrorist groups especially of the Jordanian Abomusab Zarqawi suffered sever damages in the last few weeks.

Since the middle of April most of the members of the closest circle to Zarqawi have been arrested or killed.

Possibly Zarqawi has been killed during these attacks. The statement of his groups were today issued under the name of his deputy (Abo-Abdrahmn) and a finger print for his DNA test has been requested from Jordan. On the other hand the doctor who treated him in Ramadi confessed that his injuries were more or less fatal.

The Gateway Pundit is doing a great “Carnival of Zarqawi” hopeful demise. Such news would change the course of events in Iraq and the war on terror. Is it possible that the laptop computer that the US military seized could be leading to these course o events.

And seeking to offer some positive information on the battle against the insurgency, General Myers said his troops were “close” to capturing Zarqawi when they seized his laptop.

In discussing this with the Gateway Pundit today it just seems just too coincidental that all these events are occurring at the same time. First the laptop is seized with all its valuable information. Letters seized discussing terrorism low moral. Then the marines attack and have an offensive in western Iraq all of the sudden. They have been making arrests and capturing or killing those closest to Zarqawi.

Lets hope that this is the tipping point we have been waiting for.

Here are some other posting although some as me be very skeptical.

Some Things Are Really “Impotent” to Tell Your Future Bride

Everyone has deep dark secrets that they do not want to share with their future bride to be. We have all done some pretty stupid things in our past that are best left unsaid. This, however, should not be one of them and this Italian man probably rues the day he did not mention this prior to being married.

“Her fundamental right was eroded to fully realize a family, as a woman and a wife, and eventually as a mother,” according to excerpts from the court ruling published in Italian newspapers Thursday.

The amount of damages will be settled by a lower court in Sicily, where the unhappy couple were married.

Oh to be a fly on the wall when this little tid bit of information was finally disclosed. I wonder if our friends at The Right Nation posted on this story?
