Does one really need to be representing “We the People” if they are playing solitaire on our dime? Wasting our time and our money.
Ever wonder if your hard earned tax paid dollars were wasted on politicians? Well wonder no more. Connecticut state legislatures were bagged on camera playing solitaire while House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr, (R-Norwalk), far right, speaks to the House as they convene to vote on a new budget for the fiscal year in the Capitol on Monday.
What is even better is it appears that another Nutmeg law maker to the right of the solitaire duo is getting a baseball update of NY Yankee Andy Pettitte’s attempt at a perfect game. WTF!!! What are these people 12? I guess the Reps excuse would be, could be worse, we could have been surfing porn?
You mean to tell me that these people cannot just focus and do the work of the people? That is what you are paid for.
The two non-interested CT state Reps are Barbara Lambert, a freshman Democrat from Milford and Rep. Jack F. Hennessy from Bridgeport.
The Associated Press picture has appeared in any number of venues, and it shows two lawmakers sitting in the back row of the historic Hall of the House in Hartford during the lengthy debate over the two-year, $37 billion state budget.
On the left is Rep. Barbara Lambert, a freshman Democrat from Milford who won her first legislative election in November 2008. She replaced longtime Milford Democrat James Amann, who ended his legislative career as the House Speaker and is now running for governor against Republican M. Jodi Rell.
Lambert is playing spider solitaire in the photo, while Rep. Jack F. Hennessy, a Bridgeport Democrat who has served in Hartford since 2005, is playing regular solitaire. They both voted in favor of the Democratic-written budget, while Cafero voted against it.
Michelle Malkin had questioned WTH these Reps were doing and they responded that this was a “momentary diversion ”. Maybe some one would like to define momentary diversion and it just happens to be when Republican House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr is speaking. It’s called not paying attention, LALALA!
Our members have discussed and debated the state budget for seven months, culminating in yesterday’s marathon, 13 hour budget session. With little new ground being broken, and the results of the upcoming vote a reasonable certainty, a momentary diversion is understandable. Both representatives insist there was no intent to disrespect the minority leader during his presentation.

It could be worse. They could be looking at Child Pornography?
All work and no play is apparently above their pay grade.
Being they are both democrats, they take orders only from Obama. His white house has tactics for Democrats not to listen to anything not approved by the white house machine. It is not surprising that any debate is stifled about anything in the current president’s agenda. Remember he won the election and his power is beyond the People’s pursuit of happiness.
Attn.Doug Whiting, Foolish response to the idiot democrats playing games on the computer,are they state owned? Clean the laptops up just for business. If you blame fatigue for this then find a real job, you would be fired in a minute. But I realize this is par for the democratic party Just look at thr mess where are in From the President down. Also keep taxing us and all that will be left to tax are the deers and bats in Ct. People are leaving in droves.
#4, as a matter of fact we where told by our Republican state representitive that the Republicans have been told by the left that they should not even bother proposing any legislation as it will fall on deaf ears. This is proof.
I want my bi-partisan President that we where promised.
Law makers stay too long and there are too many laws; law makers on sides of drawn lines, with their particular interests in their “side” with extra ‘sweetening’ for self promotion.
Predominantly we vote for the wrong people; we allow self promoters to become the front runners. We must change! Elect people who had a balanced life — successfully. Business honest, a stratigest, novel thinker; a person who will fight fearsely for our freedoms/the constitution, modestly, then soon go home.
Modest? We want reasonably modest friends, and the same within those who sell something to us. How is it we can vote for a representative whose sum of characteristics accompany their thoughts for which to rule — us.
These folks should be run out of office and also bitten!!
They are all just puppets on a string. But who pulls the strings can’t be revealed at this PC blogsite.
It’s all just a joke anyway. You could pull any average bum off the street and get the same result as with these dumb clowns. They don’t do any real work.

Jack Hennessey is a full time worker for FEDEX. If he were playing solitaire while on the clock for FEDEX he’d be canned on the spot. Unfortunately, Connecticut is one of 32 states that have no provisions for recall elections for incompetence or like reasons.
We’ll just have to wait until 2010. Sorry Jack, you’re gone.
This is what is happening throughout our nation as those who serve feel they deserve a free ride. If I were playing cards at my place of employment, I would not have a job for long – but government is not important to them, which is a reflection of their attitude to serve the people. Boot them out and hire new folks next election – THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO WE THE PEOPLE.

The people who need to be serving “we the people” are those who aren’t looking for a political office and who’s work ethic and character is an open book.
The problem is that it probably all has to be done at one time, or this person will either get swallowed up in the corruption or leave out of frustration.
What is wrong with this picture? I am appalled! There is so much going wrong in this Country and these elected officials are playing solitaire? I want to know where my next paycheck is coming.

The email with the picture showing you playing solitaire hit my computer just this morning – 6 February 2010. It had already been modified perhaps to cast the “elected officials” as being members of the U.S. Congress. By googling your name and those of the other officials I can positively identify this as being a photo taken during the Connecticut General Assembly. The recommendation to vote you and the others out next November does, however, appear to be a reasonable one. Fred Camphausen, Bishop, CA

I agree! Take the computers away. They don’t deserve them! I’m so tired of politicians getting away with not doing their jobs. And I mean from the top down!!!!! What are we paying them for? It’s time for a revolt of the American public and this should be explanation enough!
