UPDATE I: Volunteers gather in search for Noah Chamberlin

Hundreds of volunteers are gathering to help in the search for 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin, but authorities are not ready for them to join in the search yet.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tom Mapes said volunteers may gather at the old Pinson school on the west side of U.S. 45 in Pinson. He said they should be ready to go when needed.

“The TBI is doing an extensive search,” Mapes said. “They need a pristine area, and they don’t need a lot of folks out there. Be patient. I’m sure they’ll want the volunteers, but at this moment they’re just doing specific searches.”

Mapes said the TBI was gridding the area, and teams were searching ponds before volunteers would be used.

UPDATE II: Hundreds of community members of rural Tennessee town search the woods for missing 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin.

Authorities and locals of a rural Tennessee community continue to search the woods for a toddler named Noah after he disappeared two days ago.

More than 500 community members of Pinson, Tenn., sprang into action to search the 600-acre wooded area where 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin went missing during a walk with his 4-year-old sister and his grandmother.

The toddler’s disappearance triggered a huge community outpouring as hundreds of people volunteered to help look for Noah.

Locals have started a social media campaign with the hashtag #FindNoah.

The volunteers filled the Chester County Sheriff’s department, outfitted themselves with reflective vests and filled busses transporting them to the woods where Noah was last seen.

Hundreds volunteer for third day of searching for Tennessee two-year old who wandered away from his grandmother
      JANUARY 16, 2016

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) – Officials are continuing to search for a missing two-year-old boy in West Tennessee who wandered away from his grandmother.

Noah Chamberlin has been missing since Thursday afternoon while walking in the woods in the Pinson community with his grandmother and sister.

The Jackson Sun reports the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has set up a command post at the Pinson Fire Station to assist in the search.

More than 300 volunteers showed up Friday night to aid in the search but no sign of the boy was found and it was called off around midnight.

Tom Mapes, public information officer for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (TN), says searchers have found no clothing, footprints or blood. Search dogs have not been able to pick up a scent.

The Jackson Sun also reported Saturday night that the Chester County Sheriff says this is still a rescue operation. The sheriff also insisted that foul play is not currently suspected. The sheriff says volunteers will be accepted through seven Sunday morning, but after that, the search will be law enforcement only.

Search for Noah continues into fourth night
      January 17, 2016

PINSON — For the fourth night in a row hundreds of people bundled up with gloves, boots and reflective vests searched for Noah Chamberlin, and for the fourth night in a row nothing was found.

After a morning of specialized law enforcement searches, volunteers began aiding emergency responders again at about 6 p.m. Sunday and planned to search through the night in one-hour increments due to the sinking temperatures. The search had not found anything at press time Sunday. A request for additional volunteers may be made sometime Monday after a law enforcement search in the early morning. ….

Turner said the search and rescue operation would continue throughout the day Monday. He said he couldn’t say if there would be a specific time when the operation would cease.

We’re making plans for all day [Monday], and planning what we’re going to do [Monday] evening,” Turner said. “I hope we don’t have to use them. I hope we find him soon.”

Noah Chamberlin was reported missing at 1:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Police have said that Noah was walking with his grandmother and 4-year-old sister in the woods behind his grandparents’ home when his grandmother lost sight of him. Law enforcement from multiple state and local agencies, as well as volunteers, have been searching around the clock since he was reported missing.

      Church prays

Volunteers and church members prayed for Noah at Pinson Baptist Church during Sunday morning’s service. The church and the old Pinson school next door are being used as a gathering point for volunteers and donations of food and other items to help in the search effort.

The Rev. John Gaters, pastor of Pinson Baptist, said he was humbled by the number of people aiding the search for Noah.

“Something like this happens which is tragic and you hate it, and yet in the middle of it you see people really do care,” Gaters said. “They really, honestly care about this child, they care about this family. I’m amazed.”

Many kneeled at the front of the sanctuary to pray for Noah near the end of the service. The service also began with singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”

“The thought of a lost child, Lord, brings many of us to tears,” Gaters prayed. “… We know you are ultimately responsible for that child, Lord. We know that you created him, that you love him.”

      Why?

Sheriff believes Noah is in search area
      January 18, 2016

PINSON — Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver said he still has faith that Noah Chamberlin will be found.

“We’re very optimistic that he’s in the search area,” Weaver said.

Weaver would not say whether searchers have found any evidence of Noah.

Weaver and Madison County Sheriff John Mehr held a press conference at Pinson Baptist Church Monday shortly after 11:30 a.m.

It is still a search and rescue operation, Weaver said, and there is no criminal investigation.

Weaver said he could not discuss whether trail cameras in the woods showed signs of Noah.

I can only assume that in the process of elimination Noah’s parents and grandparents were investigated and ruled out as persons of interest in Noah’s disappearance.

Despite bitter cold, search continues for missing 2-year-old
      Jan 18, 2016

The area where Noah went missing was closed to volunteers on Monday as law enforcement officials went over the land with a flesh set of dogs.

John Stewart was one of the volunteers that was turned away. He said his friends searched Sunday night in the freezing cold.

“They thought they had found some stuff, but it turned out not to be anything,” Stewart said. “Hope he’s out there and still all right. Maybe found somewhere to hide.”

Volunteers found footprints, but they did not belong to Noah. ….

At a press conference Monday afternoon, Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver said volunteers will go out in shifts overnight beginning at 6 p.m. to continue the search for Noah.

“You need to wear warm clothes. It’s going to be cold,” Weaver said.

Search efforts for Noah Chamberlin scaled back as winter weather moves in
      POSTED 5:13 PM, JANUARY 19, 2016

CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Local law enforcement representatives met with the media on Tuesday to give an update on the latest in the search for 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin.

Officials said with wintry weather forecasted they would not be using volunteers this evening to search for the boy.

Law enforcement said they would continue the search as long as the weather would allow them to.

One of the biggest issues they have had to face, law enforcement said, were the many rumors and speculation being shared on social media.

They asked the public to refrain from starting or sharing rumors, as it makes it difficult for law enforcement to do their job.

One such rumor involving a homeowner pouring concrete recently took off on social media.

The sheriff said that concrete was poured over two years ago and had nothing to do with Noah.

They did however say they still believe the 2-year-old is alive and in the woods.

Noah went missing on Thursday as he was on a walk through the woods with his grandmother and sister.

So far, law enforcement agencies have searched over 1,000 acres of land using hundreds of people.

Leads found in search for missing 2-year-old, Noah Chamberlin
      Jan 20, 2016 4:45 PM PST

Law enforcement officials said during a press conference Wednesday they have reason to believe Noah will be found.

“We’ve got some leads we’ve recovered, and that’s one reason we feel he’s still there,” they said.

Leaders would not elaborate on what type of leads or evidence they found. When pressed for how ‘realistic’ it is Noah will be found alive, investigators responded by saying they would not give up hope.

“We still believe he is out there and evidently a lot of people do too, because they’re coming to help us. We appreciate the support; we appreciate the help,” Sheriff Blair Weaver said. “We haven’t stopped and we’re not going to stop.”

CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Rescue crews have found 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin.

The little boy was found dead by rescue crews about a mile from the home.

A visibly upset search and rescue crew asked people to keep the family of Noah in your prayers.

They said the family wanted to make sure everyone knew just how much they appreciated everything they did in the search and rescue effort.

However, they asked for space as their family mourned for the loss of the boy.

This was an area they said was on the outskirts of where they had searched.
