GAME ON: Republican VP Candidate Sarah Palin Wows America … The Republicans Best Kept Secret Weapon

A star was born last night at the Republican National Convention and her name is Sarah Palin. The Governor of Alaska wowed the crowd with her speech, her presence, her wit, her sarcasm and her love of her family and country. The self described hockey mom truly was a pit bull wearing lipstick. Finally, a candidate we can relate to … she is the every mom.

The Republican Party has not been this energized in a long time. It took a woman from small town America with a simple upbringing and a flare for the moment to bring the house down at the convention.

Read her speech in full  HERE  or HERE. However, once must watch the VIDEO to fully get an understanding of the impact of Palin’s speech that has resonated across America and that has Republicans, Democrats and Independents talking today.

Sarah Palin … A Speech that Woke Up a Party

Sarah Palin is just what the American doctor ordered. She is a breath of fresh air and a real candidate of change we can believe in. As some liberal MSM folks poked fun of Sarah’s hair, those in the know after watching Palin’s speech found that Sarah Palin was (Alarmingly) Strong . There is a reason why liberals and the MSM are attacking Palin … they fear her. After last nights speech the LEFT and Obama have much reason for concern. After the barrage of attack from the LEFT and the media since McCain announced Palin as the VP choice, Palin gave the speech of a live time and won over the hearts, minds and votes of many.  The Corner points out that the LEFT is in worry mode today.

I VOTE FOR SARAH PALIN FOR PRESIDENT !! DEMOCRATS, IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO PUT THE RIGHT PERSON IN OFFICE, YOU CAN CHANGE OVER NOW !!

    2. brenda on September 4th, 2008 7:59 am

I was stunned and believe although my Condi Rice no longer wishes to be in elected office, we have another “Condi-type” woman on the ticket. Hooray!

The BEST thing out of all of this was to see how comfortable Sara is in her own skin. The FUNNIEST thing that showed just how down to earth this family truly is would be the one time the cameras panned to her youngest daughter holding her 5 mo old son. She was licking the plam of her hand and using her spit to “slick down” her little brother’s hair. It was precious, priceless, and I could see the father to her right smiling at what she was doing rather than trying to stop her.

I vote for McCain and his amazingly bold and brilliant choice too! Time to take America back to its roots. A war hero and a lipstick wearing bitpull. I LOVE IT!!!!!

    3. Richard on September 4th, 2008 8:08 am

Astonishingly, even the media praised her speech … in which she said that she wouldn’t go to Washington to shine in the media eyes, but to serve the people.

Okay, so every politician says the same thing. Still and all, it’s a striking note.

I imagine the Hollywood types are more resolved than ever to support Obama … because if McCain gets in, perhaps movie stars’ opinions and comments won’t be taken as gospel for what should be done.

Palin’s husband is a union member and works in an oil field, I believe. The Democrats will say that they ‘own’ the votes of union members. This is a very positive development … the idea that there is room for working-class families in government.

    4. A New Girl on September 4th, 2008 8:17 am

This woman is no shrinking wallflower….GOOD for you Sara!

Just the energy shot in the arm the GOP needed.

I like her, I mean- I really like her!

=) (So, McCain didn’t go with the “safe” choice…..good for him, too! I think ALL would agree Washington is in dire need of some drastic changes….this is the right place to begin!)

#1- ECONOMIC ISSUE she addressed= using our own resources (ALASKA! A State she knows so very well)….Americans have to stop relying so much on other countries for this resources…..long overdue—we have so much of our own right here!!

Impressive to say the least. She is a go getter Hey ladies. what are the dems going to do next, revoke your voters card? Don’t laugh.

    6. Rusty Bridges on September 4th, 2008 9:29 am

Today the libs are crying foul because Palin “attacked” Barry. Hello idiots, its called defending yourself. Why does Barry find the need to compare himself to her anyway? Should he actually be the VP on the Dem ticket?

Dems are saying she didn’t even talk about the economy, Did they miss the part about the oil in AK?

I’m sure what ever the Dems feel she missed will be covered by the Mav tonight. Dems, try and listen with an open mind and not just look for something to bash the GOP.

    7. MBS on September 4th, 2008 10:08 am

Sarah is great! What an inspired choice for VP, McCain made the right choice.

    8. Jan on September 4th, 2008 10:57 am

Why does Todd Palin hate America? And he hates it so much he wants Alaska to leave it…

Why does Sarah Palin associated with a political party advocating secession from the United States?

Odd that instead of just a verbal gaffe there’s actual proof a candidate’s spouse REALLY does hate America and nothing is said about it….

    9. timothy on September 4th, 2008 11:12 am

Four years ago, after GW was reelected, the British newspaper the Daily Mirror asked, “How could 59,054,087 people be so stupid?” Our country’s political, economic and cultural experience during the last four years suggests that headline wasn’t too far off the mark, although I would replace the word “stupid” with “gullible.”

Well, I’ve listened to and watched the new McCain/Palin show, and I cannot help but wonder whether most of that 60 or so million Republican voters find this new/old “divide and conquer,” cynicism based campaign narrative acceptable. Clearly, the “new” McCain/Palin show seems to be all about division of the electorate, of the country, and of the culture, and once again the Republican leaders appear to cynically believe we Americans will fall for it again.

Irrespective of whether anybody votes for the Obama/Biden ticket, I want to believe that this time we Americans can see through the deception, divisiveness and cynicism the McCain/Palin/Bush/Rove ticket represents. I want to believe that we Americans, a group much more informed than four or eight years ago, will refrain from giving foreign newspapers any more fodder for “stupid Americans” headlines. Now some will say who cares about foreign newspapers? My reply is that sometimes, in the thick of it, someone outside of the fray has to be the one to tell the emperor that he has no cloths.

#10- Brenda—-JMO— Jan is a damn troll anywhere so even if she does provide a link.,,,just ignore.

LOL— Nothing like a whiny Dem trying to dig up non-existent and IRRELEVANT things. Who cares!

Palin scares people. Good, time for things to get shaken up. Hillary scared people, too though and look what happened to her. Sara Palin/John McCain are not backing down or going away so—-take a bite of the bullet that is going to come back and knick you in the arse.

    12. caesu on September 4th, 2008 12:30 pm

      well, the conservatives love her.
but they weren’t going to vote Obama anyway.

independents will hesitate even more now voting for McCain because of Palin’s extreme conservative stances.
it makes McCain look like a moderate.

      at Hillary supporters aren’t fooled.

furthermore, there are many questions for Palin.
her support for the seccessionist Alaskan Independence Party is one of them.

here she addresses the convention of the Alaskan Independence Party:

is it Barry or Barack ? we want to know why he won’t reveal his true identity ? fake birth certificate, doesn’t know which state he campaigns in, won’t salute the flag, won’t pledge allegiance,. all who are brainwashed, go ahead and vote for obama and see our country invaded.

    14. Richard on September 4th, 2008 1:38 pm

Poster #12 suggests that voters will be scared off by what he characterizes as Palin’s “extreme conservative” stance … seems to me that what she, and John McCain, are doing is urging change in Washington.

Change? What a radical proposal ….

Only the change that she says she wants is less government domination, not more.

      Less kowtowing to the media.

And probably less exaltation of Hollywood types, whose qualifications for telling the hoi polloi what to do and how to live is that … they have been on TV and movies.

To all of these ideas, I cry amen!

There’s a Rasmussen Poll out today in which (I think) 51 percent of the respondents (there were only a thousand of them, though) say that the media is favoring Barack Obama.

Now there’s a “radical” idea … media bias? How can that be?

    20. Maggie on September 4th, 2008 5:39 pm

I like Sarah Palin, what I have seen. I thought her speech was great.

Richard, My son works for the UAW. He is in a March tonight in Indy against John McCain. Their union is supporting Obama.. Obama is in Indiana this weekend. Only problem is my son is leaving for Detroit for 6 days tomorrow. Sometimes he works 7 days a week. I’ve seen stacks of grievances filed by employees he has handled. He isn’t afraid to stand up and go to bat for any worker that has been wronged all the way to the top. He helped negotiate his company’s last contract. They were on the verge of closing. They cut workers hours by a half hour, pay more on prescriptions now, laid some off, cut over time, a paid holiday and other things just to keep this company running. If it didn’t pass it would’ve closed. Another one did close. They met Hillary and Evan Bayh in Indiana and she sat around the table while discussing these things and they supported Hillary. NAFTA has hurt workers. My son has took more business classes along the way to learn.

In both parties nasty rumors have been spread with no basis.. I don’t like that at all. I don’t think Dems. or Republicans have addressed many of their problems. Politicians get richer and well you know the rest.. If Sarah Palin is going to Washington to clean it up then I am all in favor of that. It would be a first in history.

I love America because of the “hardworking everyday citizens” not because of the politicians. Without the working class, America wouldn’t exist, yet the politicians would have you think it’s them. Congress has done nothing this year.

I do not support Obama. Someone has to pay for all his new programs or I wonder which programs he will cut to pay for others. I really do not like the racist remarks about white people by his pastor. Just imagine if we started a White Entertainment Channel.. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be all over that. Racism works both ways. I also believe Obama hasn’t a clue what he is doing. He might be good for the California elite, but who relates to that?

Rather than a lot of hot air, I would rather see action of them actually doing something about the problems. Keep more of our money here. I think Sarah Palin has been doing that in Alaska.

I watched a show on PBS about Cleveland, Ohio and how it’s becoming more and more like a ghost town due to loss of jobs etc.

I do think we all need to work together for the common good.

    21. Allan on September 4th, 2008 5:50 pm

      http://thinkprogress.org/wonkroom/2008/09/03/palin-earmarks/

Some of these earmarks drew the scorn of Senator John McCain. The LA Time reports that, “three times in recent years, McCain’s catalogs of ‘objectionable’ spending have included earmarks for this small Alaska town, requested by its mayor at the time — Sarah Palin.”

    22. Jenn on September 4th, 2008 6:08 pm

Maggie, please turn on the TV and let me know what you see. Most television shows are made up of white actors. Most news anchors are white. And most programming is made up of whites and is meant to appeal to white viewers. What is wrong with Black Americans wanting to watch shows about characters they can relate to? It’s not as if BET has anti-white programming; they don’t.
I assume from your comments that you’re white. And while I have no idea what struggles you’ve dealt with in your life, it is without question that you’ve been in an environment where the people in positions of power, leadership, and people in the media have consisted of people who look like you. TV stations and shows geared towards blacks are about nothing more than giving a particular audience characters to identify with.

PALIN has brought an excitement to the Republican Party not seen since Ronald Reagan.

SARAH PALIN is the change that Obama has been talking about. The difference is that John McCain had the guts to pull the trigger.

Well I think that all the excitement of the Palin speech was drained my Mccaiin. One pundit called it the worst acceptance speech since Jimmy Carters 1980 speech-the delegates from Utah and Puerto Rico were sleeping. It was very unorganized and sounded as if he had not practiced.

    31. katablog.com on September 5th, 2008 7:18 am

#26 is that the link to the article the NYTimes (such an unbiased source) had to retract? Palin was NOT a member of the secessionist Alaskan Independence Party. She’s been registered as a Republican since day one. Next, so she spoke to a party that doesn’t subscribe to her beliefs – it only shows that she works for everyone.

I liked Sarah Palin months ago when I heard what she was doing in Alaska. Yes, “*I* am Sarah Palin, she represents my views”. I think it’s wonderful that there is now someone in the race that I can actually get excited about!

Smearing Sarah Palin will only backfire – so keep on smearing liberals.

      R

And there you have it! John McCain’s courage and intestinal fortitude speaks volumes—-AGAIN.
With terrorisim still being a real threat and unfortunately (and for many of the same, wrong, ungrateful reasons) America still has too many countries who envy us, hate us, and wish us ill will. I need someone in the White House who does not have insurmountable amounts of fear or inexperience. McCain has major gonads, Palin chuztpah (sp) of her own, backed by family values, executive experience, R E F O R M and she’s not going to just go along with the “Old Boys network” because she is the new kid on the block. Hell No! McCain has always been a maverick anyway, so this will just solidify that strength. My husband, a staunch REP who was not even going to vote this year because he’s become so disgusted with everything- sat in front of the TV this a.m. looking at clips of her speech and simply said, “Wow- she really doesn’t fit in at all with Washington, does she?” There was a huge smile on his face. I do believe he is voting now (instead of not at all) and never intended to go for Obama and that wind-bag Biden…still the wind was out of his sails, so to speak. No longer. Talk about invigorating millions of Reps and Independents who were despondent or not even going to show up at the polls. lol

Also as Red pointed- the Libs are freaking out cuz they just got knocked out with a HUGE left hook. Oh, watch out—here comes the upper cut next!!

She thinks that God sends troops on suicide missions for gas. Come on! There is a million of this lady in every trailer and housing project in America. Get over yourselves. This lady is SO not special. No Hilary, No Rice. Hell Courtney Love maybe but Courtney does have drugs as her excuse. I don’t blame Sarah Palin for her life but I’m not blind. People are praising her as a saint of a mother. Get out of here! Her 17 year old daughter is pregnant and on the verge of getting married. Really? That’s going to work. They are destroying the lives of these kids and America is praising this. I have NEVER been so ashamed of this country.
You are praising a 72 year old cancer stricken man and a women who can’t guide her own childen with all of her knowledge and resources to stay off their back, To guide a country of people simply to keep a black man out of office.
