   I feel for Elizabeth. She obviously doesn’t have the “play book” for life in the USA. See, dear, because somewhere in the long ago, there were slaves in the USA and now, even if none of your ancesters had anything to do with it, you must be punished. You may not use special words that only Whoopie and friends are allowed to use..consider youself inferior and warned.

   Yes, I feel sorry for her as well. Doesn’t she know that only 45 years ago blacks were lynching whites and hanging them in trees while allowing their black children to dance around the person who was lynched?
   I’m shocked she didn’t know that – aren’t you as well BUN?

   yoyo..the only way out of the past is to let it go and move into today. Holding on and blaming only hurts the one doing it.

   I wouldn’t use the “N” word, or comparable demeaning terms for women. If I did, and if I were a public figure to the extent that anyone gave a damn about what I did or said, then criticism would be warranted.

   That being so, why is the standard different for Jesse Jackson or anyone else? And if blacks, for whatever reason, use such terms publicly (as I am told is the practice with some practitioners of “hip hop” and similar intellectual triumphs of mankind), why shouldn’t they be challenged?

   And if they are not, then why should there be a double standard?

   Then again, given the level of violence and the collapsing culture in which we live, worrying about these verbal slurs is like trying to color-coordinate the furnishings in your suite on the Titanic.
