Washington Navy Yard Gunman Aaron Alexis was Treated for Serious Mental Health Issues … He Had Been Hearing Voices in his Head

How many red flags were needed to have the Washington Navy Yard gunman’s security clearance taken away?

Now the AP is reporting that Aaron Alexis was being treated for serious mental illness. The man who would yesterday murder 12 individuals and wounded countless others was hearing voices in his head. All this and still no one thought that this guy was a risk to himself and others. Because some how being previously arrested for shooting a bullet into your neighbors home is not grounds to not get a security clearance when employed with a government contractor.

The more reports that come out about Aaron Alexis, the more we learn that yesterday’s massacre could have been completely avoided.

Aaron Alexis

U.S. law enforcement officials are telling The Associated Press that the Navy contractor identified as the gunman in the mass shootings at the Washington Navy Yard had been suffering a host of serious mental issues, including paranoia and a sleep disorder. He also had been hearing voices in his head, the officials said.

Aaron Alexis, 34, had been treated since August by the Veterans Administration for his mental problems …

Seriously, how did this guy have any clearance what so ever? The NSA can tape everything we do but some how a guy like this slips through the cracks?

Hey, I have a novel idea, how about we ignore
the true cause of gun violence seated in the
obvious mental perversions of the perps and
simply confiscate ALL the guns from honest
law abiding citizens? Note: defensive weapons
were not permitted on the Naval Sea Systems
      Command Headquarters grounds.

It might be one thing to say a lone gunman might be literally mad (hearing voices in their head, addicted to violent video games, packing guns in secret) and to pass that of as the sole reason as to why they commit such atrocities but perhaps it is even crazier to avoid discussing that perhaps the vernacular and the current cultural and social dialectics at play are just as mad which unfortunately makes such tragic acts the common eye sore these days….

      FLASHBACK

Fort Hood report faults FBI for missteps in Hasan review, cites political correctness
      July 20, 2012

A long-awaited report on the Fort Hood shooting faults the FBI for numerous failures in the run-up to the massacre that left 13 dead, concluding that agents’ assessment of the gunman, Maj. Nidal Hasan, was “belated, incomplete and rushed” — and suggesting political correctness played a role in the bureau’s decision not to investigate him more thoroughly.

The report found that the FBI “erred” in several respects — by failing to interview Hasan when concerns were raised about his contact with known terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki; by failing to search for more email contact between Hasan and Awlaki, and by waiting too long to pursue leads on Hasan.

If Obama did have a son, would he look like this
      young man?

    7. kashekamon on September 18th, 2013 7:34 pm

The FBI and CIA have faulted in proving that obama is not a nature born citizen of the US.

Well there is a lot at play here who knows if this young man was constantly being mobbed at work or if he had been under extreme stress ? Leads me to believe that there must be a lot more Americans close to this brink being that the entire world is in a post traumatic stress era. Interesting contemplation. I am going into the military and it will be one of those things that I will be seeing a lot. And I guess its expected. Since there are many people who do not know how to handle the symptoms of stress. Or never experience stress enough to the point that it can affect them to this point. Reminds me of the many crazy people in Hollywood. Stigma stigma stigma. That is the mother of all these F ups. People have issues and they are failing to realize them. Deal with the tough issues then we will get better as a people.

Some Jobs requires you to be crazy to work there I guess. Hey wasn’t Steve Jobs crazy to some people yet he was the smart to a lot. How do we differ eccentric from crazy. LOL. Seem like these mass killings will be on the rise being that the world is getting more and more stressful.

If I had a son he would look like a human being. What do you think Rightknight ? Wouldn’t he ?
