The wait is finally over, the murder trial of George Zimmerman begins today in Sanford, Florida …
Opening arguments begin this morning in the second degree murder case against George Zimmerman, neighborhood watch volunteer, in the death of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman’s defense attorneys are claiming self-defense while the State prosecutors are claiming second degree murder. As stated at CBS News, in order to prove second-degree murder, prosecutors must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Martin’s death was caused by Zimmerman’s alleged criminal action, and that the killing was committed with ill-will or spite and showed an indifference to human life. Six female jurors and alternates are about to begin their life in sequestration as they determine the guilt or innocence of George Zimmerman.
Opening statements are scheduled to start today in the case of George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch volunteer accused of murder in the shooting death of unarmed Florida teen Trayvon Martin last year.
The high-profile, racially-charged case has drawn the national and international spotlight, and for six jurors and four alternates chosen Thursday, sequestration began this weekend. The jurors will be allowed limited contact with friends, family, and the outside world. However, they will have monitored entertainment and won’t be exposed to media reports on the case for the duration of the trial.
Central to the case will be who started the deadly altercation the night of Feb. 26, 2012, whether George Zimmerman was acting in self-defense and whether his shooting of Martin was justifiable under Florida law.
The trial is presently underway. Hopefully this case will be about the law and not about the pre-trail racism that was interjected by the liberal MSM.

I guess we were correct the other day after the jury was finally picked when we said of the George Zimmerman case, let the games begin.
prosecuting attorney greeted the jury in the George Zimmerman trial Monday with a quote full of expletives, while his adversary decided it was appropriate to tell jurors a knock-knock joke.
And that was just the beginning of opening statements in Zimmerman’s long-anticipated murder trial.
In a case that has ignited national debate about gun laws and race relations, Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, is accused of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February 2012 in Sanford, Florida.
Prosecutor John Guy’s first words to the six-woman jury may have raised a few eyebrows.
Good morning. ‘F*****g punks, these a******s all get away,’” Guy quoted Zimmerman. “These were the words in this grown man’s mouth as he followed this boy that he didn’t know. Those were his words, not mine.”

I live 5 minutes from Sanford and what gets me about this case is that the crime in Sanford is horrendous. Every couple of days there is someone getting shot, robbed or mugged but there is no publicity made of these crimes. The parents have appeared on every TV show, talk show that there is and not trying to be vindictive but I have seen no sorrow or emotion from the parents except to bad mouth George Zimmerman and lets face it they have made so much money from their dead son’s death. They even got a large sum of money from the Home Association where they lived. It shocked me that they are having this trial in Sanford as everyone knows about this case.
The pre-trial racism is exactly the reason this case is in court today.
The MSM did everything they could to make this a white on black crime, including deliberately editing video to make in appear so. Then the race pimps Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and the Black Panthers got into the act along with our Mr. Zero occupying the WH.
the parents of martin capitalized on his death and made lots of money from it. whatever reason Zimmerman shot the boy, he will never get a fair trial in the US.
Blacks still have the hate and racism attitude from 150 years ago and don’t have the capacity to let it go. we can also thank the democrat party as a whole for promoting this racism excuse to campaign on. it is all they have left. not a one of them have the capacity to tell the truth and all are corrupt. also, these is no rage about all the blacks killing black children. this is no more than a tool for the democrat party to feed on. is black on black killing acceptable or a term of endearment like the n word ?
How is Zimmerman going to ever receive a fair trial?
Oh, that’s right—–from the looks of things—-he isn’t.
And no Men on the Jury? How is that balanced or fair?
This case makes a complete mockery of our Judicial System, and as #1 Mary stated above—-how is it even possible this is being held in Sanford?
I smell mistrial!
Well, pray the women are members of the NRA or GOA giving them better insight into whos and whys of gun ownership and crime.
or If they have been crime victims in any way it will be helpful for Zimmerman.
Forget about what Martin’s parents are making from this and think about how much instant coffee the prison gang that controls access to Zimm’s “services” will make. Wake up and smell the coffee …. lol
