Barry Bonds Hits HR 755* to Tie Henry Aaron
Last night Barry Bonds hit career home run 755* tying Henry Aaron’s all time HR record. I think all that needs to be said with Barry Bonds march toward breaking the HR record is that a respected man like Henry Aaron wants nothing to do with the record breaking attempt. There is a reason why Aaron is staying away and unfortunately this is nothing more than another black eye for baseball. The HR record is now nothing more than a joke in the age of the steroid performance enhancing scandals.
Bonds was booed as he headed to left field at the end of the inning. The 43-year-old star has been shadowed by suspicions of steroid use for several years, which some fans feel has tainted his chase for home run record. (Breitbart)
Baseball’s only hope is that Bonds breaks the record at home rather than on the road. If done away from San Francisco, Bonds will be booed unmercifully.
It’s a good think that Yankee slugger, Alex Rodriguez, is at 500 at the age of 32. Bonds record will be short lived and obliterated by Rodriguez. In 6 years this record will change. Maybe even less if the Red Sox sign Alex Rodriguez in the off season.

there needs to be two categories. “home runs” and another called “home runs (drug assisted)”.

#1, very true.
an “*” does not even do this joke record justice.

What about Hank Aaron? He is a true hero. He and his family were troopers through adversity.
Hank is a true hero and a class act who wants no part of Barry Bonds and this cherade.
It is really unfortunate that Hank Aaron, who had to endure all kinds of adversity and racism when he broke the Babe’s HR record would have to have his record broke by one who obviously gamed the system.

It is written- had the Babe had as many at bats as Bonds, he would have hit over 1300 HRsThe Babe did it on hotdogs and Schlitz..
Hank Aaron personifies all the used to be good about baseball…..and Barry Bonds is a great example of all that’s gone wrong.
what a hollow victory and an outright fraud he is.

take note Aruba….yours was a hollow victory also and now everyone knows you are a fraud.
Like dennisintn says, if you wanna roid up & set records go for it but don’t misrepresent yourself as being on the same playing field (if ya know what i mean) with Hank Aaron.
