RSSEx-Teacher Angela Renee Comer Takes 10 Year Plea Deal in Sex Case
28 year old Angela Renee Comer pleaded guilty to having sex with a 14 year old boy 
and running off to Mexico. Under the plea agreement Comer will serve 10 years after facing a potential 20.
A former teacher charged with having sex with a 14-year-old middle school student and running off to Mexico with him pleaded guilty Wednesday to a sodomy charge.
Angela Renee Comer, 28, would serve 10 years in prison under her plea agreement, in which the prosecutor agreed to drop most other charges. Besides one count of third-degree sodomy, Comer pleaded guilty to one count of custodial interference.
She had faced up to 20 years on each of four counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and up to five years each for two counts of third-degree sodomy. (AP)
Angela Comer was arrested in Mexico in January of 2006.
Is this another case of a double standard? If the roles were reversed and Comer was a man would the sentence have been lowered? Angela Comer is eligible for parole in 2 years. How are we supposed to show that we care about the welfare of children if we are not willing to punish those who are guilty in a responsible manner? One really must wonder what is up lately with the rash of married female teachers having sex with students. It is a troubling trend, indeed.
Comer said she expects to be eligible for parole after serving 24 months of the sentence. She said she also will be required to complete a sex offender treatment program that takes from 12 to 18 months. Comer has been in jail for the 16 months since her arrest.
Comer also said since her arrest her ex-husband has not permitted her to see her 5-year-old son, who is autistic.

Well, I am not happy that she is getting a lesser sentence than a man would for child molestation — but I am happy that they didn’t let her off scott free!!!
Society needs to learn that it doesn’t matter if it is a woman or a man who molests — damage is done. These people who have positions of “authority” need to realize that they cannot seduce the young ones –be it a girl or a boy !
She is obviously a “sick puppy” and hopefully psychiatric care might help her. I certainly hope that after she is released from jail and had her therapy she doesn’t molest some other young boy.
Does anyone know if a study has been done yet? Are women sexual molesters like men, where they are repeat offenders thru-out most of their lives — or is this molestation just one boy that the molester has become obsessed with??
I also agree that she got off too easily, but that it is better than nothing.
For God’s sake, she took somebone’s minor child across the border into a foreign country. Let alone what she did to him there.
I think that, alone, deserves 10 years!
Both #1 and #2, understand before you judge someone. You may be 100% wrong. You both have no experience with chemical imbalances in the human body, nor does a jury that judges her which most probably has a 100% normal chemical balance. Her problems are derived from way too much estrogen being produced in her body which also affects how the brain handles temptations.
So here here’s my evidence. When I was 6, I had the mumps with a 104F temp, which caused me to have bi-lateral testicular atrophy. I had small testicules that could produce enough testosterone to develop as a male, but no sperm. However God was gracious enough to let me enjoy sex up to 40. When I hit 40, my testicules stopped producing testosterone. Normal male at 40 should have a free testosterone level of 800. I had a level of 44. At 44 you could have put the most beautiful woman in front of me naked and I would have never had a thought about sex. Your minds thoughts of sex are all based on the amount of testosterone your body produces. Plus testosterone also affects your life and all muscles including your heart muscles and every organ in your body. Without it you will not live very long – your human body will just shut down, first your liver.
The doctors initially put me on 11.25 grams testosterone on a daily basis. I’ve been taking testosterone for 8 yrs and I experienced everything on how it affects the mind and human body. If I took too much males were attratced to me. If I took too little I gained fat and lost muscle mass. If I take the correct dosage which now is 5 grams per day, everything is normal, the way it should be.
If the boy was 14 and had a high testosterone level, and she had an extremely high estrogen level – then the chemical imbalance was severe enough that neither ever had the human mind or mental will power to stop.
However if your hormones are normal there is no way to understand the implications with chemical imbalances. I’m an engineer so I’ve read about chemical imbalances, studied them and also experienced there affects on the human body. I’m glad God allowed me to experience this, because now I can explain it to doctors and drug comapnies and hopefully it will help other people.
The best thing for people for people who have over sex stimuli is to find a way to reduce their hormone release in the human body.
It’s a very good and very dangerous chemical that the body produces. If the body produces too little or too there’s a major catrasophe right around the corner.
How come on. This is just a lot fuzz over nothing.
Any healthy young teenager would hump an attractive looking 28 year old female.
Its just so typical American that you people go all mental over this.
I’m just happy that i live in Holland. At least we don’t go hysterical about every small little issue.
#3 Ummm…actually I have quite a bit of experience with chemical imbalances both hormonal and with imbalances of brain chemicals so, yes I think I can say that despite how hard it may seem to not commit a crime, I have managed not to.
For the record it has never entered my mind to do such a thing, hence my anger at behavior that harms others.
#4 Do you think it’s a small little issue for an adult authority figure to take a minor across the border into a foreign country without parental consent?
For the sake of argument let’s say that it was in fact without parental consent, would you say that is an okay thing to do?
