Chaos in Egypt as Islamists Scale the walls of the US Embassy in Cairo After Pastor Terry Jones Posts Anti-Mohammed Film (VIDEO) … State Department Apologizes???
All hell breaks loose in Cairo, Egypt as Islamists scale the walls of the US Embassy after Pastor Terry Jones Posts Anti-Mohammed Film. During the protest the American flag was taken down and torn into pieces and replaced with a black flag with the words “There is no God but God, and Mohammad is his messenger”. Wow, what does this remind America of? A Ed Driscoll states, can you say, “Welcome Back Carter”? Once again Barack Obama is leading from behind.
Egyptian protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy on Tuesday, tore down the American flag and burned it during a protest over what they said was a film being produced in the United States that insulted Prophet Mohammad.
In place of the U.S. flag, the protesters tried to raise a black flag with the words “There is no God but God, and Mohammad is his messenger”, a Reuters witness said.
Once the U.S. flag was hauled down, some protesters tore it up and showed off pieces to television cameras. Others burned the remains outside the fortress-like embassy building in central Cairo. But some protesters objected to the flag burning.
Many Muslims consider any depiction of the Prophet to be offensive.
“This movie must be banned immediately and an apology should be made,” said 19-year-old Ismail Mahmoud, a member of the so-called “ultras” soccer supporters who played a big role in the uprising that brought down Hosni Mubarak last year.
So what does Team Obama do? Well they did what they do best, apologize.

U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement
September 11, 2012The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.
Below is the VIDEO that supposedly sparked the chaos, Jones is calling 9-11 “International Judge Mohammed Day.”

Egyptians are upset about the anti-Islamic sentiment coming out of America and the White House apologizes but … the Christian intollerance that defines Egypt is a non-issue.

Romney: Obama administration response to embassy attacks ‘disgraceful’
September 11, 2012
Late Tuesday, after eschewing hard-edged political statements in observance of the 9/11 anniversary, Romney released a statement on the violence. “I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi,” Romney said. “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

Romney calls Obama administration’s early response to attacks a disgrace
Published September 12, 2012
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in a statement released about the same time as Romney’s, condemned the attack in Libya “in the strongest terms.”
“Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet,” Clinton said. “The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind.”

According to the WSJ (goo.gl/HMhPT), the statement released by the Cairo Embassy preceded the protest, and was not a response to it.
In the hours leading up to the rally in Cairo, the U.S. Embassy there invoked the First Amendment rights to free speech, but said the film constituted an abuse of those rights.
“The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims—as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions,” it said in a statement. “Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.”
The NYT also ran a similar story (goo.gl/vlhCa) that said:
“Bracing for trouble before the start of the protests here and in Libya, the American Embassy released a statement shortly after noon that appeared to refer to Mr. Jones: “The United States Embassy in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.” It later denounced the “unjustified breach of our embassy.””

SM: What part about you do not appease bullies or terrorists is so difficult to understand? Any one has ever dealt with individuals from the Middle East knows you do not apologize, its a sign of weakness and like putting a red cape in front of a bull.
R
THERE WAS NO APOLOGY!!!!!!!!!
______________
SM: The State dept was condemning the anti-Mohammed movie and that it would hurt the feelings of Muslims. In essence they were apologizing for American free speech. Can you really not figure that out? Or are you obtuse?
BTW, were you the one who mane the comment that Thomas Jefferson was a pedophile? Just asking? You Libs tend to blend together into one Moonbat mess.
R
Logically speaking: Can I apologize for what you do?
I don’t think so. Therefore the embassy can’t apologize for some other party who makes a film or does anything else in particular.
BTW: If you have every condemned Obama or any other politician are you actually just apologizing for him?
Really?
_________________________
SM: The MSM apologizes and condones what Obama does every day. Really, you have never heard of a third party apologizing for another? Seriously? It happens ever day.
You are truly obtuse. Every thinking person knows that you do not show appeasement to those in the Middle East. It is a sign of weakness.
#7-SM: I understand you believe appeasement was involved in this incident; I just don’t translate “condemn” into “appeasement.”
It seems that to take exception to the embassy statement is akin to believing the opposite idea, as if a statement read as:
“The Embassy of the United States in Cairo supports the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims—as we support efforts to offend believers of all religions.”
However, hat can’t be true, so something seems amiss in the outrage of the actual statement.
[...] questioning a couple of things that occurred that day. One, how does anyone think that sending out an appeasement PR statement against the anti-Mohammed movie think that would work; two, how was it allowed to stay up as long [...]
