Joe Baez, the defense attorney for Casey Anthony, finally has stated publicly what we and Blink on Crime knew all along. Jose Baez appeared on PBS’s “Frontline,” and stated how they got $200,000 from ABC for photos of Casey and Caylee, and that money was used “so we could mount a proper defense.” How special that a Disney owned company helped through “checkbook journalism” to deny justice to two year old Caylee Anthony. As reported at the Orlando Sentinel, “ABC News changed its policy, saying it would no longer license pictures or video tied to a booking.” Sorry, a little late now. Maybe you would like to apologize to Caylee Anthony?
Jose Baez, Casey Anthony’s lawyer, has for the first time publicly acknowledged he was able to mount a successful defense thanks to the money he got from ABC news.
Baez, who appeared on PBS’s “Frontline,” explained how they got $200,000 from ABC for photos of Casey and Caylee, and that money was used “so we could mount a proper defense.”

Sick, I hope those at ABC News can live with themselves. Even Baez stated in the interview that the Casey Anthony case was an anomaly because the network paid $200K for licensing fees for the Anthony defense. So before anyone wants to use this case and the verdict as case law, it can obviously be stated if it were not for ABC News and their hideous checkbook journalism, the out come of the case might have been much, much different than a “not guilty as sin” verdict.

Disgusting — who says justice can’t be bought? And when is the IRS (ic, the taxpayers) getting their portion of this sizable chunck of change? She shouldn’t have a computer, IPod, new clothes or anything until she pays back what she owes.
Shame on Baez and shame on ABC. They didn’t seem to care that a sweet innocent baby was murdered – ratings took precedence over everything else. Since then, ABC has continued it’s downward spiral. Most recently, their doctored video of George Zimmerman without bruises! It’s terrible…once such a well respected network.
What you state is true, but the fact that justice was not done in this case primarily the jury’s fault. Its not like the defense team was able to razzle-dazzle the jury due to the extra few bucks in Baez’ pockets, and Baez wouldn’t have tried “less” just because he wasn’t getting paid as he is smart enough to see the long-game of how this case would affect his career.
ABC=Scumbags! That was blood money at the time, and all of America knew it.
ABC sucks. Was never a fan of Jose the Clown Baez’s but it was partly his resourcefulness and the stupidity of a jury that got Casey Anthony out of jail.
A murderer set free for killing her own Child, and now a lynch mob out for an accidental death in Florida?
I’ll remember never to get killed in that State bc no matter which way you roll the dice, there seems to be no justice in that ass backwards State.
This is the SAME man who tried to make everyone else (Roy Krunk, Cindy Anthony, etc.)look bad for selling a few pictures….and yet it’s okay for him to accept $200,000??? ABC was wrong for paying anyone to talk, but it wasn’t ABC who made the decision to stand in a court of law, and in front of the world, and make up a blatent lie!
Like BOC said, while thousands of volunteers were trying to find Caylee, C-word was at Jose’s office trying to find another Caylee in pictures and videos to sell…sick! This case is so upseting, I hope she gets the right jury this time.
