Drunk Baby Girl Dropped off at Colorado Springs, CO Hospital
A two months old baby girl with a blood alcohol content of 0.364 was dropped off at a hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. The alcohol content is more than 4 times the normal limit. The baby is expected to be ok, despite the negligent conduct of the adults providing her care. It is hard to imagine that this was a case of an accidental ingestion by the child due to its age. The baby was dropped off at the hospital by the mother’s boyfriend. I guess they at least did that so that the baby had a chance of survival.
The baby’s mother is the focus of the criminal investigation. But police said it’s been difficult to figure out exactly what happened because the mother is telling conflicting stories.

So, a baby was fed alcohol via a bottle. Beautiful. Why is life so UN-sacred to so many these days?
When my daughter…now 22…was less than 2 years old, I was only 21 years old and unaware of what a child could get into. I left a bottle of over the counter cough medicine on the end table (I was sick). You all know what happened. She got hold of it and drank quite a bit (at least 1/3 of the bottle). Didn’t even realize she knew how to open it!!
I did not comprehend what happened at first. She was walking up the hall and fell over. When she could not stand without falling I was afraid and picked her up to find the red, sticky, goo on her shirt. I was then terrified and called poison control asap. They said to keep her awake and watch her, but she should be OK. I did not believe them, but did what they said.
When you love a child, this type accident causes the parent to feel extreme guilt! It did me anyway. My mother in law was a police dispatcher at the time (runs in the family :>) and I also called her. She contacted the EMTs who also said my child would be fine.
I stayed up all night watching to make sure she was breathing. I never made such a mistake again.
I hope that abused baby goes to a good home since it is not in one now…and I do not mean foster care…I mean a good, permenant home.

Where are these people coming from?
It is fortunate this baby even survived.
I can’t even imagibe a blood alchol content of 0.364.
That would be tough on an adult, let alone a 2 month old.
Simply hideous,

my first thought was maybe she drank cough medicine, but that clearly cannot be true. i’ve heard of parents giving babies alcohol in their bottles to help babies sleep. very disturbing. how could someone intentionally put any child in harm’s way?
Can you imagine just how much alcohol one would have to give a baby to blow a .364?
I hope there are no lasting damaging conditions caused by this.

Makes me want to cry…that poor baby… I pray the baby gets a wonderful set of parents to love her and nourish her…
The mother should never be able to see her baby again.
