Rooney Officially Charged in Gardner-Quinn Murder
Brian Rooney has been officially charged in the death of Michelle Gardner-Quinn, the University of Vermont student. Court documents filed this afternoon show Rooney being charged with aggrevated murder and will be arraigned on Thurdays at 10:30 AM.
Court papers show that blood found on Rooney’s blue jeans and semen recovered from Gardner-Quinn’s body came from the same man.
Rooney will be arraigned on the charges in Vermont District Court in Burlington at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Aggravated murder carries a penalty of life in prison and nothing less.
Tom Tremblay, Burlington Police Chief, verified the charges in a news conference moments ago. “The cause of Michelle’s death was strangulation and blunt force trauma,” Tremblay said. via the Burlington Free Press
While our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, we are glad they will have closure on this horrific crime to their daughter. When the police and judicial systems works effectively, crimes like these can be solved quickly and with certainty.

If Rooney did it, there is no use for him among civilization.
i hope they have the death penalty in that state, and that he gets it. the sooner the better.

He said he didn’t do it!
roflmao, well, i guess they need to apologize and let the poor man go.

Hmmm….another case where the last person that was seen with the victim was the one who killed her.
Vermont doesn’t have the death penalty….remember this is the state where the a certain judge thought that 3 months was sufficient for years of child rape.
As far as guilt…he has no defense…Michelle’s DNA was found on his jeans….and his DNA was found on her body.
Another prime candidate for a neck stretching if you ask me.
on aruba, that wouldn’t be enough evidence. there’s no telling how much he could soak the govt. for false imprisonment, he’d just have to have paulus as attorney. he’d just say it was consensual, she killed herself afterward, and he needs to get on with his life. it was all her fault anyway. trust me, it would work.

i’m glad bachus was not around, he might have told michelle parents to take a hike
He says he didn’t do it. His DNA says he did.
In Aruba they would send him off to college in Holland. Paulus would probably be his professor like his was for Joran when he killed Natalee.
Disgusting!
In Aruba, it would be Michelle’s own fault.
Hey, for a bunch of country bumpkins, we Vermonters handled this phase of the investigation OK.
No chance he’d get the death penalty in this state, unfortunately. But some say life in prison … IF THAT IS WHAT IT MEANS … is worse.
Worth noting here: the police didn’t find her body. Some hikers did.
Just read the article in today’s Burlington Free Press … part of the evidence against this guy was fresh scratch marks on one of his hands and on his back ….
Reminds me of what was said about a certain person in Aruba; of course, it never occurred to the cops down there that such marks might be significant.

At first the press reported that he had no criminal record and now he has multi page rap sheet that keeps growing….he should have been in jail a long time ago.
These comments seem always to avoid the obvious facts in these cases. First, womens liberation may mean a young lady is free to choose what she does with her time. But certainly any thinking person must accept that a lone, attractive, female(probably intoxicated) on any street at 2:30AM is putting herself in great harms way.
Second, common sense, unless impaired, says do not go alone. Her friends who put her in this spot must share some of the blame for her death. Particularly, the ass whole boyfriend who took her cell phone contact. Any one who is considerate of others would have gone to her when he heard the words on the phone. And how about all her other friends. When did we stop being our brothers keeper? And our legal system is also to blame. The system let this obvious dangerous predator roam the strres looking for prey.In most civilizes countries he would have been locked up months or years before.
I am not blaming the victim. She had no reason to die what must have been a terrible death. Yes, sympathy for all involved. But you young ladies who read this must exercise more common sense. You also have an obligation to your self to not put yourself in harms way. The world is a dangerous place at times and you must realize this and act accordingly. It can happen to you.
maybe women can start reversing the growing trend of finding dead girls everywhere. it would be much better if we started finding dead or seriously wounded men laying around all over the cities for a change. most of the men who survive would tell the police they were victims of attempted robbery even though they have records of abusing women. the dead ones will most likely have similar records and, following the example of aruba, be written off as heart attacks or suicide. no? well, i can dream of a perfect world anyway.

Houston…shouldn’t have been let out in the first place! But I know what you are trying to get across.
Brenda
dennisinten…you think like me…except I’d like these men “found” by the police who arrive to answer the 911 call from the woman who he’d attempted to make his next victim :>)
Brenda
#l7, brenda, i wouldn’t want the woman to waste valuable time and energy calling 9ll for a sexual predator. let garbage disposal get him the next morning.

Put him in a plane along with joran, deepak, satish, paulos, dennis jacobs, that ugly newspaper chick (what was her name?), and karen janssen, fly them over Pakistan and parachute them over onto the other side of enemy lines. Oh yea, I forgot. Tatoo them all on their foreheads “rapist and murderer”.
He deserves to die.
