The Unemployment Percentage Farce … Most of the Unemployed No Longer Receive Benefits
Ever wonder why the United States can only gain 80,000 jobs in a month and the national unemployment percentage can actually go down from 9.1% to 9%? Fuzzy government math of course. That and the fact that most of the individuals that are unemployed no longer receive benefits and are not counted.
From CNBC:
The jobs crisis has left so many people out of work for so long that most of America’s unemployed are no longer receiving unemployment benefits.
Early last year, 75 percent were receiving checks. The figure is now 48 percent — a shift that points to a growing crisis of long-term unemployment. Nearly one-third of America’s 14 million unemployed have had no job for a year or more.
Congress is expected to decide by year’s end whether to continue providing emergency unemployment benefits for up to 99 weeks in the hardest-hit states. If the emergency benefits expire, the proportion of the unemployed receiving aid would fall further.
The answer is not to continue to make Americans dependent upon receiving government benefits, the answer is to get government out of the way and create an environment that is conducive to business hiring. It would appear that this can only be done with Barack Obama being tossed out of office and putting a Congress in place that actually embraces capitalism.
It is obvious that Barack Obama’s policies have failed on the economy. At the job creation rate we are presently on, we will never recover. OBAMA MUST GO in 2012!!!

From what I’ve observed, many on unemployment wait until their benefits are about to run out, or DO run out to start seriously looking for employment. Other than that, they simply go to random places that aren’t hiring for the required “job searches” to continue getting a free check.
I realize this isn’t 100% the case, but it is all, too many. For instance, we have a Volvo plant nearby. Those workers have nearly zero interest in finding anything outside of being called back. I’ve actually seen a TV interview of one lady who boldly proclaimed she was not going to “settle” for some menial job like working @ McDonalds. Really? If there’s nothing else I’d work anywhere, but that’s just me.
The issue isn’t a president. The issue is the banking cartel. Are we missing a point here? When high salary workers get laid off, college grads up to debt to their ears in student loans are working for pennies. That leaves the long term vet worker in the dust, unable to pay mortgages. The bank forecloses, wash rinse repeat. It’s a pattern I have observed, and researched as far back as as 1913. When a central org can manipulate a countries currency, either through inflation/deflation or devaluing, you are at the mercy of the bankers. Are you surprised? Obama works for the federal reserve, not for the people. Wake UP America.
