Its a Sweep … Republican Mark Amodei Wins Nevada’s Special Election Over Democrat Kate Marshall in NV-2
GET THE BROOMS OUT TONIGHT FOLKS … THE GOP HAS WON TONIGHT IN NY-9 AND NEVADA-2!!!
Republican Mark Amodei wins the 2nd District House seat in tonight’s Nevada House special election. From the outset of the counting after the polls closed, Amodei was in the lead with 56% of the vote. Amodei will replace Republican Dean Heller who was appointed from the House to the Senate in May 2011 to replace Republican John Ensign who resigned in scandal.
Amodei easily bested Democrat Kate Marshall Tuesday in the rural Nevada district that has never elected a Democrat.
Amodei is a former state GOP chairman. He promised to fight for a balanced budget amendment in Congress and signed an anti-tax pledge.
Amodei was elected in Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District to replace Republican Dean Heller. Heller was appointed from the House to the Senate in May to replace Republican John Ensign. Ensign resigned over a sex scandal.
