First Black President Has Highest Black Unemployment Rate in 27 Years at 16.7%
The historic election of Barack Obama continues to reap historic moments … Unemployment rate among Blacks at 16.7% and a 27 year high. Hey Black America, “How’s that ‘Hopey, Changey’ stuff working out for you?” Do some blacks have buyer’s remorse?
Unemployment rate among Blacks at 16.7% and a 27 year high thanks to Obama
Today’s dismal job numbers courtesy of President ZERO’s economic polices were disastrous for Americans as NO JOBS were created in August, 2011. However, it was none more catastrophic than to Black Americans where their unemployment rate rose to a 27 year high at 16.7%. I bet Black America thought things were going to be so much different for them when Barack Obama was elected in 2008.
Barack Obama was going to help her pay her gas and mortgage … What about a job Peggy?
The August jobs report was dismal for plenty of reasons, but perhaps most striking was the picture it painted of racial inequality in the job market.
Black unemployment surged to 16.7% in August, its highest level since 1984, while the unemployment rate for whites fell slightly to 8%, the Labor Department reported.
“This month’s numbers continue to bear out that longstanding pattern that minorities have a much more challenging time getting jobs,” said Bill Rodgers, chief economist with the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University.
Black unemployment has been roughly double that of whites since the government started tracking the figures in 1972.
In the 2008 election, 95% of black men and 96% of black woman voted for Barack Obama. Overall, 95% of blacks voted for Obama. Do you think any of them thought that their plight would have been worse when Obama was elected the first black President? If GWB was in office, he would have been called a racist with such high, epoch black unemployment numbers. Any Republican would have been called uncaring of blacks and out of touch with black minorities. So what do they say when their hand picked Savior is in office and has made matters worse for them?
Seriously, how does a black voter actually vote for Obama in 2012? Do they really want four more years of near 17% unemployment, no jobs and food stamps? Really? Blacks really need to take a serious look at things and realize it is not the Tea Party that is their enemy, it might just be the political party that takes their vote for granted no matter what color the President is.

Trust me… He’s nothing compared to Martin Luther King, Andrew Young, Jessie Jackson or Colin Powell. They know how easy it is to talk the talk and I pray that as a nation we can learn to walk the walk inspite of the set backs.
United we stand, divided we fall!
Bless~
These black unemployment figures prove that Obama is a closet neocon (unlike Clarence Thomas)… Obama is totally opposed to equal oportunity. His latest scheme the “Georgia Works” fiasco underlines this reality. It is nothing but creeping corporatist neocon crapola…Even the weasely trade union bosses like Trumka can’t stomach it.
Honestly, what does the high unemployment rate have to do with skin color?
The bottom line is Obama has driven our economy straight in to the toilet. Regardless of race or professional qualifications—there are no jobs!
But I’m sure that people of his color are not too happy either that the President they voted for has not kept his promises. It should serve as an example that voting for a candidate because of his ethnicity is not a solid basis for qualifying a Commander in Chief who lacks a ton of experience.
It isn’t because he is black. In fact, he is only about one-eighth black.
This guy has never run anything except a project vote effort for ACORN. He got poor marks for his performance there as well.
It is time to forget skin color and concentrate on finding a candidate that has the proper experience, skills and values to run our federal government.
Voteing for a candidate that has only speaking skills with the aid of a teleprompter and the fact that he promises things that he knows nothing about is a form of insanity.
My husband told me he heard a blip on the news where the government was trying to disallow commercials targeting children under 12 during Saturday th morning and after school hours or peak times kids that age normally watch television. He also mentioned this would ELIMINATE up to 70,000 jobs in the television industry.
Now, we all know the big Hollywood stars are grossly over paid, but the writers, actors, directors, etc of those little commercials probably have to make ends meet like the rest of us.
Our current gov’t never fails to disappoint me in their wanton disregard of anything other than a BAD idea. Besides, aren’t the PARENTS the ones purchasing this stuff? How can it matter what the kids want/see in a commercial if mom and dad say no???
[...] How pathetic is Jimmy Hoffa and the unions. What America really thinks its the Tea Party’s fault why 14 million Americans are out of work, there is 9.1% unemployment and there was ZERO job growth in August 2011? It is President Barack Obama, the first elected black President, who resides over the worst black unemployment rate in 27 years. [...]
I agree with the commentor who said: It’s not about skin color but, let’s be honest – BHO is an embarrasment to the black community.
And the blacks who voted 96% for Obama will probably still vote 96% for him in 2012 because of his skin color.
If blacks don’t wake up help vote Obama out, then nobody is going to feel sorry for blacks anymore.
Think about that for a moment.
[...] Obama’s speech to the annual awards dinner of the Congressional Black Caucus was his answer to increasingly vocal griping from black leaders that he’s been giving away too much in talks with Republicans — and not doing enough to fight black unemployment, which is nearly double the national average at 16.7 percent.
