RSSJared Lee Loughner Named Gunman in the Mass Shooting in Tuscan, AZ & US Rep Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords (AZ-D)
Jared Lee Loughner has been named the gunman in today’s heinous mass shooting in Tuscan, AZ that left US Rep Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords (AZ-D) shot in the head, at least five people dead, including a 9 year old girl, and as many as 13 others are injured. Now 6 people are being reported dead. It was originally reported by the AP that the name was Jared Lee Laughner; however, that was found to be incorrect. The correct spelling is “Loughner”.
Hospital reports claim that they areoptimistic in a recovery for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. The bullet that pierced Giffords’ head at point black range, actually went in and out. It is a miracle that this woman was shot through the head and is still alive.
A surgeon of the Arizona hospital where Gabrielle Giffords is being treated said in a press conferece Saturday that he’s “about as optimistic as it can get in this situation” for Giffords’ recovery. She was out of surgery at the time of the press conference, and was “responding to commands,” according to Peter Rhee of the University Medical Center of Tucson.

UPDATE I: The police are actively looking for another individual. According the the police new conference tonight, the authorities are looking for a second person involved, a man in his 50′s. The also stated that Congresswoman Giffords was the target of the gunman’s attack. The sheriff described Loughner as a troubled young man.

Sadly, from what I’ve read this kid had a lot of the same type of issues (mentally/spiritually…whichever you prefer) as Cho the Va Tech shooter. Read one article where he was described as a loner and one who never fit in. Also, that he would have strange outbursts in class in college where Cho didn’t have outbursts, but did cause disruption to the point it also made the other students feel uncomfortable around him.
Sad thing is that these issues always begin in childhood but don’t seem to manifest until young adulthood. Everything is inside out these days. Folks raise their kids to be angry…to don’t raise them at all and then point fingers all over the rest of the society to place blame. I don’t understand it.

Hi there in the US. We in Germany also are shocked about all this murdering in your country. But don´t take it that easy, that this guy was a (bad) communist, because he added the comunistic manifest to his favourite books. Just two titles after that he writes that “Mein Kampf” (Adolf Hitlers Manifest) was one of his favourites too! A communist and at the same time a NAZI? Makes no sense to me! I suggest you better should think about your (to the rest of the planet) ridiculous weapon law. No gun´s means no shooting – believe me – it´s exactly that easy!

No Robert it is not that easy. Guns don’t kill people. You do realize there are other ways to kill a person besides guns right? Do you really believe that stricter gun laws are going to stop a deranged person from getting one or criminals for that matter? NO it does not. Do some research on it.
Okay okay, I feel bad for the inoccents who died, but he obviously had a point.. From reading his youtube rants he seems to have be an insomniac. But the guy oddly had some points. There are so many flaws in such a powerful government, maybe they should rewrite some of this stuff. He was obviously pissed off and couldn’t make sense of it because of how incorrect the USA is within their own laws..ect.. Also.. maybe it goes deeper then that.. no will know.. but maybe he was touching the government the wrong way.. maybe something was aggravated. he was threatend. most people want to believe what the “police and media” tell us.. maybe it goes deeper. ??? poor little girl though.. no kids shoot ever be shot.. I just want to express my deepest sympathy to all who have lost a loved one during this horrific ordeal Ive read many responses on here and have my own opinions on things. This world is out of control lots of negativity people have lots of problems but when you have mental status changes it is a sickness a dangerous sickness worse than anything because a person like that is unperdictable. part of me has no remorse for this shooter and part of me thinks ..what if awhile back someone could have saved him .. helped him .. stopped judging, there are so many cruel people out there they tend to down, belittle,, laugh, and judge, a person .. then they wonder why they have medical issues ..or you have those that have parents but yet they really truley dont … there is so much evil in the world and all we can do is pray to god that we dont ever walk that path this isnt the guns fault or the goverments doing you make your own choices in life you choose who you want to become people have many struggles some fall and some rise with success we cant control how a person thinks but we also should not ignore signs of mental issues Im saddened by what happened and he should pay for what he has done, may nobody have to experience something like this. I think that a law should be passed that if a person shows signs of mental instability the issue should be addressed immediatly screw this consent bullshit, if people like this are left ignored shootings like this will happen all over again and that makes me very sad… we are known to be a united america well I dont feel that we are very united and it is up to all of us to change that. just my own opinion hope i didnt offend anyone.
I have to say this man jared lee loughner was consumed by fear and consumed by hate and he was scared the cops were going to lock him up in jail for a crime he did not commit so something gave and it was his sanity He snapped and went and did the murdering he done letting the bodies hit the floor hopeing the cops would kill him and end his suffering of being hated by all and fearing the law
