Sen. Durbin Asks Facebook CEO Zuckerberg If He Would Be Comfortable Providing the Name of the Hotel He Stayed in Last Night in Brilliant Privacy Question (VIDEO)

I HAVE TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE … DEMOCRAT SENATOR DURBIN NAILED ZUCKERBERG AND PROVIDED BRILLIANT CONTEXT TO THE FACEBOOK PRIVACY DILEMMA.

During yesterday’s Facebook hearing before a joint Senate committee, Democrat Senator Dick Durbin asked a very interesting set of questions that drew laughs but were at the heart of the user information sharing problem that Facebook faces. Durbin asked whether Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg would be comfortable in sharing the name of the hotel he stayed in last night. Or whether he would tell us who he privately messaged this week online. Zuckerberg responded with a no on both questions. Then Durbin nailed him with the zinger, “I think that might be what this is all about, your right to privacy, the limits of your right to privacy and how much you give away.”

“Mr. Zuckerberg, would you be comfortable sharing with us the name of the hotel you stayed in last night?” Durbin asked at the joint session of the Senate Judiciary and Commerce Committees.

Zuckerberg did not answer right away. After the awkward pause, Zuckerberg said, “Uh … no.”

The hearing room erupted in laughter and Zuckerberg himself smiled as if he, too, realized how Durbin just nailed him.

Durbin, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee continued, “If you have messaged anybody this week, would you share with us the names of the people you’ve messaged?

Zuckerberg replied, “Senator, no, I would probably not choose to do that publicly here.”

Said Durbin, “I think that might be what this is all about, your right to privacy, the limits of your right to privacy and how much you give away in modern America in the name of quote connecting people around the world.”

Attorney Alan Dershowitz Meets With Trump At White House … Does POTUS Wants Him To Join Legal Team … Dershowitz Says of FBI Raid of President’s Atty, This is a Very Dangerous Day for Lawyer-Client Relationships

DERSHOWITZ SAYS, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DAY FOR LAWYER-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP …

One day after the FBI raided the offices of longtime Trump attorney Michael Cohen with the blessing of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, lawyer Alan Dershowitz is reported to have met with President Donald Trump at the White House fro dinner. The question becomes as rumors abound, will Dershowitz join Trump’s legal team?

Via FOX News, Hannity:

Alan Dershowitz: This is a very dangerous day today for lawyer-client relations. I deal with clients all the time. I tell them on my word of honor all the time that what you tell me is sacrosanct. And now they say, just based on probable cause, even though they know there was cooperation, with Cohen. They can burst into an office grab all the computers. Then give it to another FBI agent and say, “You’re the firewall. We want you to now read all these confidential communications. Tell us which ones we can get and which ones we can’t get.” You know, if the shoe were on the other foot, if this were Hillary Clinton being investigated and they went in her lawyer’s office the ACLU would be on every television station in America, jumping up and down. The deafening silence of the ACLU and civil libertarians about the intrusion into the lawyer-client confidentiality is appalling.

Sen. Ted Cruz Grills Mark Zuckerberg … Facebook “Appears to be a Pervasive Pattern of Political Bias” (VIDEO)

ONCE AGAIN THE LEFT IS CAUGHT RED HANDED BEING BIAS …

Yesterday Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was front and center before a joint Senate committee answering questions regarding Facebook practices as to user information privacy and their obvious pattern of political bias. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) asked, are you a neutral public forum or are you engaged in political speech? Sen.  Cruz then went on to point out to Mr. Zuckerberg that many Americans are concerned that Facebook is biased against conservatives. Cruz went on to ask why Facebook suppressed conservative news and why Facebook shut down certain pages it deems controversial, naming examples such as as “Chick-fil-A appreciation day” page, a post from a Fox News reporter, and Trump supporter Diamond and Silk’s Facebook page. Facebook deemed Diamond and Silk’s Facebook page, two black conservative women, to be unsafe to the community.

Questioning Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at a Senate hearing Tuesday, the Republican senator and former GOP presidential candidate said that to many people there “appears to be a pervasive pattern of political bias” after some conservative pages were taken down from the platform. In a series of pointed questions, Cruz asked Zuckerberg if he had tracked the political affiliations of his employees.

Zuckerberg said he had not. But he noted that the company is based in left-leaning Silicon Valley, and said “it is a fair concern.”

Finally, Facebook has been outed for what they truly are, a liberal, Left-wing, bias media platform. Facebook and Zuckerberg are not interested at all with a platform of all ideas. If that was the case there would not be so many examples of right leaning web sites being penalized by Facebook and even taken down. Zuckerberg could not come up with one example of a Left leaning site that was treated the same. Imagine that?

Via CBS News:

The senator cited the 2016 controversy over how Facebook editors handled conservative-leaning political news in the trending topics feature. He also questioned why Facebook shut down certain pages it deems controversial, naming examples such as as “Chick-fil-A appreciation day” page, a post from a Fox News reporter, and Trump supporter Diamond and Silk’s Facebook page.

“Senator, let me say a few things about this. First, I understand where that concern is coming from because Facebook and the tech industry are located in the Silicon Valley which is an extremely left-leaning place,” Zuckerberg said, addressing Cruz. “And this is actually a concern that I have and that I try to route out in the company — is making sure that we don’t have any bias in the work that we do.

He added that it was a “fair concern” before Cruz cut Zuckerberg off to ask if any left-leaning pages, like those of Planned Parenthood, Moveon.org, or Democratic candidates, had been shut down by Facebook.

Zuckerberg said he was “not specifically aware” of any pages that may or may not have been shut down.

Cruz pointed out that Facebook has 15,000 to 20,000 people working on security and content review, and asked if Zuckerberg was aware of those employees’ political orientations.

“No, Senator, we do not generally ask people about their political orientation when they are joining the company,” Zuckerberg replied.

Federal Agents Raided the Office of President Donald Trump’s Personal Attorney Michael Cohen … President Donald Trump declared attorney-client privilege “dead”

WHAT PRESIDENT HAS EVER BEEN TREATED THIS WAY? WAS HILLARY CLINTON TREATED IN THIS SAME MANNER?

Federal agents raided the office of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen on Monday, seizing records on topics including a $130,000 payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels. It is now obvious that special counsel Mueller is going to anything and everything possible to get this president. Cannons of law and ethics be damned. To the LEFT I would ask, how would you have reacted had Hillary Clinton been treated in this manner? This situation is out of control and this partisan witch hunt does need to end. It would be wrong no matter what party the President was from. Where is the ACLU?

Federal agents on Monday raided the office of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen, seizing records on topics including a $130,000 payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

A furious Trump, who in the last month has escalated his attacks on Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, said from the White House that it was a “disgrace” that the FBI “broke into” his lawyer’s office. He called Mueller’s investigation “an attack on our country,” prompting new speculation that he might seek the removal of the Justice Department’s special counsel.

The raid was overseen by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan and was based in part on a referral from Mueller, said Cohen’s lawyer, Stephen Ryan.

“The decision by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New York to conduct their investigation using search warrants is completely inappropriate and unnecessary,” Ryan said in a statement. “It resulted in the unnecessary seizure of protected attorney client communications between a lawyer and his clients.”

Authorities working with Mueller chose a similar tactic last summer when they raided the home of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was subsequently indicted.

In this case, Mueller opted to refer the matter to federal prosecutors in Manhattan. Besides Cohen’s office, agents also searched a hotel room where he’s been staying while his home is under renovation.

President Trump responded:

And after a briefing from Senior Military Leadership on Monday night, Trump took a number of questions from reporters, and started by blasting the raid on his lawyer as a “witch hunt.”

“It’s a disgrace,” Trump said. “It’s frankly a real disgrace. It’s an attack on our country, in a true sense. It’s an attack on what we all stand for.”

The president also responded to a question about whether he would fire Mueller, charged with investigating his campaign’s ties to Russia.

Trump said: “I think it’s a disgrace what’s going on. We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s really a sad situation when you look at what happens. And many people have said you should fire him. Again, they found nothing. And in finding nothing, that’s a big statement. If you know the person who’s in charge of the investigation, you know all about that––Deputy Rosenstein, Rod Rosenstein, he wrote the letter, very critical,  of Comey…”

President Donald Trump Ends ‘Catch and Release’ Immigration Policy

TRUMP ENDS CATCH AND RELEASE …

President Donald Trump has signed a memo ending “catch and relase” illegal immigration policy. It is about time! The White House announced late Friday the end of the “catch and release” policy for illegal immigrants. Catch and release is the practice by which immigrants presenting themselves at the border without authorization are released from detention while waiting for their cases to be processed. Yeah, like how many of them actually show up for their hearing as opposed to becoming illegal residents of the United States? President Trump ran for president to reform immigration policy. Even though the do-nothing Congress hasn’t passed any type of sweeping reform, the administration is taking steps to make policies stricter. And Republicans wonder why they are in trouble for the 208 midterm elections.

U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Friday ordering the end of a policy, known as “catch and release,” in which illegal immigrants are released from detention while awaiting a court hearing on their status.

As part of the memo, Trump asked Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to produce a list of military facilities that could be used to detain illegal immigrants.
