Harvard-Harris Poll Says Americans Want Massive Cuts to LEGAL Immigration
THE LEFT MAY FIND MORE ISSUES AHEAD WHEN IT COMES TO IMMIGRATION …
A Harvard-Harris poll shows that Americans strongly support granting citizenship rights to illegal immigrant Dreamers.; however, it also showed strong support for President Trump’s three demands for a border wall, limits to the chain of family migration and an end to the Diversity Visa Lottery. But in a surprising result, the poll also showed that the public’s demand for lower overall legal immigration. The poll found that most Americans want annual legal immigration capped at 500,000 a year or less, much less than the current annual rate of 1.3 million.
A government shutdown is in the rear-view mirror, but the outlines of a looming immigration deal remain murky with the sides still far apart — though the latest polling suggests President Trump’s bargaining position may be strong.
A Harvard-Harris poll taken in the run-up to the shutdown found Americans strongly support granting citizenship rights to illegal immigrant Dreamers. But they also back Mr. Trump’s three demands for a border wall, limits to the chain of family migration and an end to the Diversity Visa Lottery.
Most striking of all is the public’s demand for lower overall legal immigration — a position that has little traction on Capitol Hill but one that is overwhelmingly popular across the country.

If the real figures for illegal aliens were to be known by the American people, there would be a lot more people on the side of shutting down immigration for several years.
The eleven million illegal figure is one that has been in use for many years. The real figure may be between forty and fifty million.
There are two types of illegals. Those that cross the border without papers and those that use the temporary educational visas or visitor visas and then overstay them.
This same problem was found in the third decade of the 20th century. The federal government placed limits by country of origin for legal immigrants with many countries placed at zero.
The Democrat/Socialist party has promoted immigration of illegals since the 1960′s.
