SWEDEN DROPS RAPE INVESTIGATION AGAINST WIKILEAKS FOUNDER …

As reported in the NY Times, prosecutors in Sweden have dropped the rape investigation into the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. For the past five years, Assange has taken refuge in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London after the authorities in Stockholm opened a preliminary rape inquiry against him. Chief Prosecutor Marianne Ny said in a statement, that the prosecutors office said it decided to end the investigation because “there is no reason to believe that the decision to surrender him to Sweden can be executed in the foreseeable future.”

Prosecutors in Sweden said on Friday that they would drop their investigation into Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder who sought refuge in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London five years ago after the authorities in Stockholm opened a preliminary rape inquiry against him.

With a legal cloud hanging over him, Mr. Assange, 45, an Australian, had refused to go to Sweden for fear of being extradited to the United States, but the prosecutors’ decision does not mean that Mr. Assange is in the clear.

In Britain, he still faces a warrant for failing to appear in court, and the London police said on Friday that they would arrest Mr. Assange, who has maintained his innocence, if he tried to leave the embassy.

FBI Director James Comey testified under oath on May 3rd, 2017 that the  Trump Administration had not obstructed justice in any investigations. Now his so-called leaked memos state something different. Interesting By the way, lying during sworn congressional testimony is committing perjury, a federal offense punishable by up to five years in prison.

“So if the attorney general or senior officials at the Department of Justice opposes a specific investigation, can they halt that FBI investigation?” asked Sen. Hirono of Comey during the question-and-answer period of his testimony.

“In theory, yes,” replied Comey.

Hirono pressed: “Has it happened?”

Comey said, “Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something that – without an appropriate purpose. I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don’t see a case there and so you ought to stop investing resources in it. But I’m talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason. That would be a very big deal. It’s not happened in my experience.”

Schmidt’s allegations that Trump attempted to obstruct justice hinged on the sources’ accounts of a memo authored the same day. Schmidt, a Democrat party lackey, admitted he hadn’t even seen the document—dated nearly three months before Comey’s testimony that totally contradicted it.

During the Commencement ceremonies at the US Coast Guard Academy, President Donald Trump praised the graduates and the Coast Guards fine work in defending the United States. He also took the opportunity to eviscerate the liberal MSM and their unfair treatment of his administration.

The president praised the 199 graduates for choosing to defend the country and their parents who raised them to pursue military service.

“These fine young cadets are about to take their rightful place on the front line of defense for the United States of America,” he said in a commencement speech at the academy in New London, Connecticut. “Cadets, you deserve not only the congratulations but the gratitude of each and every American, and we all salute you.”

It was Mr. Trump’s first commencement address to a U.S. military academy, and he went to lengths to highlight the important and unique role the Coast Guard plays in national security.

“Out of the five branches of our Armed Services, it’s only the Coast Guard that has the power to break through 21 feet of rock-solid Arctic ice, right?” he told the cadets. “You’re the only ones. And I’m proud to say that under my administration, as you just heard, we will be building the first new heavy icebreakers the United States has seen in over 40 years.”

President Trump provides a lesson to the Coast Guard graduates and some advice when dealing with pressure like the unfair actions of the MSM:

In a commencement ceremony at the Coast Guard Academy, Mr Trump said “no politician in history … has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can’t let them get you down, can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams.”

“Over the course of your life, you’ll find things are not always fair,” he said. “Things happen to you that you do not deserve and are not always warranted, but you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight. Never, ever give up. Things will work out just fine.”

After a death by a thousand Democrat, MSM and anti-Trump cuts, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as the special counsel to investigate the allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and so-called rumors of collusion with the Trump campaign. Mueller is considered an impartial and fair choice as he was appointed FBI Director by President George W. Bush in 2001 and served an extra two years past his ten year term during the Obama administration. Rosenstein said in a statement, that his decision to go forth with an Independent counsel was not that there was a finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted, but because of the unique circumstances and the public interest requires me to place this investigation under the authority of a person who exercises a degree of independence from the normal chain of command. Hmm, something you never heard the politicized DOJ say under Obama.

The United States Department of Justice has announced that a special counsel has been appointed to investigate Russian interference into last year’s presidential election and links or coordination with the campaign of President Donald Trump.

Former FBI Director Robert Mueller was assigned by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to “oversee the previously-confirmed FBI investigation of Russian government efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election, and related matters.”

In a statement, Rosenstein said, “My decision is not a finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted. I have made no such determination. What I have determined is that based upon the unique circumstances, the public interest requires me to place this investigation under the authority of a person who exercises a degree of independence from the normal chain of command.”

“I accept this responsibility and will discharge it to the best of my ability,” said Mueller in a statement.

Mueller will have 60 days to put together a budget for resources to conduct the investigation and that budget must be approved by Rosenstein. Attorney General Jeff Sessions previously recused himself from all matters related to the presidential campaign.

“Special Counsel Mueller will have all appropriate resources to conduct a thorough and complete investigation, and I am confident that he will follow the facts, apply the law and reach a just result,” said Rosenstein in the statement.

Just curious, will this mean the the LEFT will stop their Trump witch hunt now that they got what they wanted in an independent counsel? Not a chance. But what will Democrats and the LEFT do when the investigation turns up nothing? And say right before an election?
