Donald Trump Picks Dr. Ben Carson to be HUD Secretary

FANTASTIC AND SOLID PICK!!!

The Politico is reporting that President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Dr. Ben Carson to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Carson stated, “I am honored to accept the opportunity to serve our country in the Trump administration. I feel that I can make a significant contribution particularly by strengthening communities that are most in need.” Trump has made the fixing of the inner cities high on his agenda (video 9:35). Donald Trump said in s statement,  ”We have talked at length about my urban renewal agenda and our message of economic revival, very much including our inner cities. Ben shares my optimism about the future of our country and is part of ensuring that this is a Presidency representing all Americans.”

Dr. Benjamin Carson’s Amazing Speech at the National Prayer Breakfast with Obama Present

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Dr. Ben Carson, a onetime political rival who became one of his leading surrogates on the campaign trail, to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Carson, who challenged Trump during the Republican primary, is the first African-American selected to serve in the president-elect’s Cabinet. The retired neurosurgeon has little experience in housing or management, but he has weighed in on the issue. In a 2015 op-ed for The Washington Times, he labeled a new fair housing rule a “social-engineering” scheme.

“Ben Carson has a brilliant mind and is passionate about strengthening communities and families within those communities,” Trump said Monday morning in the statement from his transition team. “We have talked at length about my urban renewal agenda and our message of economic revival, very much including our inner cities. Ben shares my optimism about the future of our country and is part of ensuring that this is a Presidency representing all Americans. He is a tough competitor and never gives up.”

Dick Cheney Says to CNN’s Barbara Starr: Trump Took Us To Point Where We “Don’t Need You Guys Anymore”

WILL TRUMP MAKE THE MSM IRRELEVANT OR HAVE THEY ALREADY DONE THAT TO THEMSELVES?

Over the weekend, former Vice President Dick Cheney and Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta discussed the new era of foreign policy under President-elect Donald Trump with CNN’s Barbara Starr at the Reagan Library. The media seems to be worried about Donald Trump’s tweets. That is when Cheney provided the following comment as to why maybe the MSM is in such a huff over Trump’s tweets, do they feel that they will be made irrelevant and not needed anymore? Funny line. I bet the media never thought they would miss Dick Cheney.

Honestly, since it is pretty much obvious, especially after the last election cycle that journalism is dead, maybe it is the media that made their own-self irrelevant.

“I think one of the reasons people get so concerned about the tweets is it is sort of a way around the press. He doesn’t have to rely upon, uh, rely upon — this is the modern era, modern technology. He’s at the point where we don’t need you guys anymore.”

RCP Transcript:

FMR. VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY: One of the most important things [President-elect Trump] can do is exactly the opposite of what his predecessor did. With respect to Iran and nuclear weapons, and don’t make the mistakes that the situation he is inheriting from the Obama administration represented. With respect to our status in the world, the capabilities of our forces, the belief on the part of I believe many of our friends and allies that they can no longer trust the United States or count on our guarantees. I think we need to do major progress and reverse the Obama policies and not that’s not a place for President Trump to start.

BARBARA STARR, CNN: But Secretary Cheney, Mr. Vice President, you are someone who has a long history of being very precise in your words, in your thinking and your analysis. I’m not aware of anytime you ever said anything very casually. [Laughter]

CHENEY: Oh, now, Barbara.

STARR: At least that I can’t recall. I heard that Air Force general that you fired. Um, that’s another story we’ll get to later.

So, c’mon, let’s hear it. What are you — what is your, you know, you hear this casual language. And when I say that don’t go out tweeting that I am anti-this or anti-that. The language of tweets is not necessarily as nuanced and contextual as U.S. foreign policy is. I think that is something that we can all agree on. So when you see this, seriously, what concerns does it cause you? If you were sitting with him and could give him some advice about all of this — about language, about meaning of words — what would you say? What would your advice be?

CHENEY: Well, I, first of all, am not sitting with him.

STARR: Would you if asked?

CHENEY: Would if I asked?

STARR: Would you?

CHENEY: Certainly, if the President of the United States asks for advice. I would have been happy to advise Barack Obama but he never asked me. [Laughter]

STARR: So, again, language and words. [Laughter]

STARR: You see, the man never says anything casual.

CHENEY: I think he needs to be careful but he’ll learn as he goes along. I think he is putting some brains and good people with him. I am a big fan of Mike Pence. I know Mike well from his 12 years in the House and I think he’s a great choice as Vice President. He’s going to play a major role. I think Mr. Trump is taking very, very seriously the job that he has gotten now. Staffing up the administration.

I think one of the reasons people get so concerned about the tweets is it is sort of a way around the press. He doesn’t have to rely upon, uh, rely upon — this is the modern era, modern technology. He’s at the point where we don’t need you guys anymore.

Gallup Poll: Americans’ Support for Electoral College Increases Greatly Despite Democrat Whining … Up to 47% from 35% in 2011

AMERICANS SUPPORT FOR THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE INCREASES

According to a recent Gallup poll, Americans support for the electoral college has increases  from 35% in 2011 to 47%. In the wake of the 2016 Presidential election that saw Donald Trump win in an electoral college landslide 302-232, where Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, many on the Left are moaning as they cannot accept the election results. As Red State opines, some of that shift can be attributed to increased Republican support in the wake of the election results; it’s not like it spiked in the last year.

Gallup_2016 electoral college poll

Despite Democrat whining as Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, there is a reason why the electoral college exists. The Founding fathers established the Electoral College in the Constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens. There are currently a total of 538 electors, corresponding to the 435 Representatives, the 100 Senators, plus three electors for the District of Columbia as provided for in the Twenty-third Amendment. But of course the LEFT has an issue with a system set up by the Founding Fathers and has served this country well as Libs think that populated states like New York and California are more important than the US citizens in states like Idaho and the Dakotas.

 2016 electoral map2

Americans’ support for keeping the Electoral College system for electing presidents has increased sharply. Weeks after the 2016 election, 47% of Americans say they want to keep the Electoral College, while 49% say they want to amend the Constitution to allow for a popular vote for president. In the past, a clear majority favored amending the U.S. Constitution to replace the Electoral College with a popular vote system.

This year, for the first time in the 49 years Gallup has asked about it, less than half of Americans want to replace the Electoral College with a popular vote system.

The reason for this shift in opinion is clear: In the aftermath of this year’s election, the percentage of Republicans wanting to replace the Electoral College with the popular vote has fallen significantly.

Currently, 19% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents favor basing the winner on the popular vote, down from 49% in October 2004 and 54% in 2011. Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents already widely favored having the popular vote determine the winner and are slightly more likely to do so now than in the past.

Of course the ignorant whiny LEFT want mob rule. Because we all know they know more than The Founding Fathers, sarcasm intended.

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman Says the Democratic Party Will Not Win Future Elections if Party Taken Over by Liberal Wing

FORMER DEMOCRAT SENATOR LIEBERMAN SAYS DEMS WILL NOT WIN FUTURE ELECTIONS IF MOONBATS TAKE OVER PARTY

In the wake of the 2016 elections, former U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman from Connecticut who ran as a Democrat and Independent stated that the Democrat  Party will not win future elections if the liberal wing of the party takes over. He is 100% correct. The Democrat party is no longer the party of Truman or John F. Kennedy. Lieberman said, ”It’s certainly not the party that I got drawn to …”. The one time Democrat VP pick by Al Gore is saying that the Democrat party is lurching too far right and losing touch with the American people. However, the Democrat party is moving far left as they had a self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders as a presidential candidate who appealed to nearly half of the party.

The Democrat party that once represented the working class people and the blue color individuals is no longer. Thus the reason why during the 2016 elections Trump not only pierced the Democrat “blue wall” of the Rust Belt, but knocked it down completely. With Donald trump victories in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin, his message resonated with voters who the Democrats have long forgot.

Joe Lieberman

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) argues the Democratic Party will not win elections if the liberal wing of the party takes over.

“Here is my fear about the future of the Democratic Party. In a way, relatively speaking, Hillary Clinton was representative of … center-left of the Democratic Party, not the pure left,” Lieberman said in a radio interview with John Catsimatidis on Sunday.

“Now I think there will be a real attempt by the left-left of the Democratic Party to take over the party, and I don’t think that’s the way to go to make it an effective party,” he continued.

“It’s certainly not the party that I got drawn to … it’s not the party that I worked so hard for when Bill Clinton was president and it’s not going to be a winning party.”

Democrats have been grappling with the future of their party following Donald Trump’s upset win over Hillary Clinton last month. Republicans also maintained their majorities in both the House and Senate.

If the Democrats keep up their far left liberal leanings, they are in for a tough 2018 midterm elections. Of the 33 seats up for reelection in the U.S. Senate, Democrats or Independents who caucus with Democrats have 25 seats to defend, Republicans only 8. Nine of those Democrats Senate seats are in red states won by Donald Trump.

CNN Producer Caught On Hot Mic Joking About A Trump Plane Crash & Reporter Laughs (Update: CNN Apologizes to Trump)

I THINK IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT CNN IS A BIAS AND DISGUSTING MEDIA OUTLET

CNN has been caught once again being bias against president-elect Donald Trump and this time it was hardly funny and a laughing matter. While CNN was gathered at the Carrier plant in Indiana, prior to President-elect Donald Trump arriving to give a speech to the Carrier workers regarding the deal he made that saved roughly a thousand jobs to remain in the United States rather than being sent to Mexico, the CNN news crew decided to joke around about a pretty gross and reprehensible topic. A CNN producer was caught on a hot mic saying,“If I do this, it means he’s landed, .. and That means his plane’s crashed…just kidding.” UNREAL.

Can you imagine the outrage from the MSM had some one from FOX News had said something like this regarding Obama? Hmm? Donald Trump is 100% correct to call out the bias and factually incorrect liberal media. This is yet another example of the media bias and double standard. As if a media individual had done this with a Democrat president, they would have been fired.

Mediaite:

While CNN was gathered at the Carrier plant in Indiana yesterday, waiting for President-elect Donald Trump to arrive to give a speech regarding the deal that kept roughly a thousand jobs in the U.S., the crew decided to joke around about a pretty grisly topic.

In video obtained by FTVLive, correspondent Suzanne Malveaux was prepping for her live broadcast from Indianapolis. She can be seen discussing what she needs to say on air, what items to touch on, doing sound checks, asking for water, etc.

However, at one point, as they were getting close to going live, a producer can be heard off screen talking about signals she would give if Trump’s plan had landed. It then went south rather quickly.

“That means his plane’s crashed…just kidding,” the voice can be heard saying, while Malveaux’s eyes bugged out. She then tried to smile it off.

UPDATE I: CNN Apologizes to Donald Trump regarding plane crash comment.

The video showed Malveaux — who joined the network in 2002 — reacting with a stunned face but laughing at the remark.

“An unfortunate and inappropriate remark was made by one of our producers off camera yesterday,” a CNN rep said in a statement, Business Insider reported.

“We have apologized to the Trump transition team, and the producer has been disciplined.”

Trump routinely lambastes the media in general but has also singled out some outlets for verbal abuse, including CNN.
