39 year old Anne Swaney, an ABC producer for abc7chicago.com in Chicago, was murdered and believed to be sexually assaulted while vacationing in Belize. Swaney had gone missing on Thursday morning after doing yoga near the Mopan River nearby the resort. Her body was found Friday morning in a river near the horse farm in western Belize where she was staying, she was resorted to be wearing only a bra. According to accounts, she had bruises on her neck and lacerations on her head suggesting she fought back and she had been strangled.
This further points out that you just can’t take your safety for granted on Caribbean Island paradises. The police best be questioning everyone involved with the resort, not like Aruba. Belize is one of those hot spots that everyone wants to go to, maybe we should rethink that.
An ABC producer was killed while vacationing in Belize this week.
Executive producer of online operations, Anne Swaney, 39, arrived last Saturday to Nabatunich Resort, Benque Viejo, according to ABC.
Swaney was allegedly sexually assaulted before being killed after doing yoga on Thursday morning near the Mopan River nearby the resort.
A tour guide found Sawney’s yoga mat another items near the river but he didn’t see her and alerted the authorities.
Dogs tracked her scent on Thursday night but she was not found until the next morning.
Benque Viejo Police Superintendent Daniel Arzu said that Swaney’s injured corpse was found floating on the river. She was wearing just a bra.

Swaney traveled alone to Nabitunich, a farm in the Cayo District of western Belize, the family member said. She had been there before and was friendly with the owner of the farm, which offers tours on horseback.
She planned to participate in a group horseback riding expedition on Thursday, Benque Viejo Police Superintendent Daniel Arzu told WLS. When organizers came up short one horse, she volunteered to stay behind and went to do her yoga practice at the Mopan River.
Her family was not surprised that Swaney gave up her tour for someone else.
“Anne would do anything for anyone. She was always the first to volunteer to take on a tough job. She just did the right thing in situations,” the family member told CNN.
When the tour returned they found her personal effects on the deck, Arzu said.
“This looked suspicious, so they went to her cabin and she wasn’t there. They told the owner who called the police. The police came with their canine unit and the scent led them along the river but due to the darkness the search was called off for the night before finding her,” Arzu said.
Friday morning, Police found her body face down in the river with bruises on her neck and lacerations on her head, Arzu said.
UPDATE I: A local reporter in Belize said Anne’s death is quite an embarrassment to the nation.
“Because it is on the fringes of our border with our neighbor in Guatemala it also provides another element that the police have to investigate. Where if the perpetrator came across the border, they will have a difficult time they will have to liaise with their counterparts in Guatemala,” said Daniel Ortiz, NEWSBELIZE.
There is not a nationwide tourist advisory in effect for Belize. However, tourists are told to exercise a high degree of caution due to an increasing rate of violent crime throughout the country. In that specific “Cayo District,” armed robberies occasionally occur near the western border with Guatemala, especially near Caracol to the south.
Police say criminal activity, including armed robbery, mugging and sexual assault, is a significant problem throughout Belize. Robberies and assaults have been reported in resort areas. There has been a noted increase in violent crime targeting tourists since the end of 2013. Criminals often operate in groups and target persons traveling alone.
Cases of sexual assault against female travelers have also be been reported in that district.
Drug-related crimes are also on the uptick. The transit of drugs, particularly cocaine and precursor chemicals for methamphetamine, has risen. Belize was included on the FY12, 13 and 14 U.S. Majors List of illegal narcotic producing and/or transit countries.
In January 2014, two American citizens were kidnapped at gunpoint from a resort area near the western border with Guatemala.
A Canadian filmmaker was killed in January 2015 to the south of the district.
In May 2015, two American men were murdered in a suspected drug-related armed robbery. An 18-year old suspect was charged.

2 Year Old Noah Israel Chamberlin Missing Since 1/14/16 in Pinson, TN
2 year old Noah Israel Chamberlin has been missing since Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Pinson, Tennessee. The search continues for the missing toddler. According to authorities, Noah Israel Chamberlin was walking in the woods on a nurture walk on Thursday with his grandmother and 4 year old sister when his grandmother lost sight of him. Noah was reported missing at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday after being out walking in the woods off Short Road with his grandmother and sister. The area of Short Road is in Chester County, south of Pinson. Endangered Child Alert has been issued in West Tennessee.
The TBI has issued an alert for 2 year old Noah Israel Chamberlin.
Noah’s grandmother notified the Chester County Sheriff’s Office at 1:19 p.m. of her missing grandson. Mapes said the Madison County Sheriff’s Office was then called to assist in the search. The search was still ongoing after 10 p.m. Thursday.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an endangered child alert for Noah, who is described as white, about 2 feet tall and 25 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved gray shirt and blue jeans. Noah was last seen going into the woods behind his house in the 1800 block of Short Road in Pinson. UPDATE I: Volunteers gather in search for Noah Chamberlin
Hundreds of volunteers are gathering to help in the search for 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin, but authorities are not ready for them to join in the search yet.
Madison County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tom Mapes said volunteers may gather at the old Pinson school on the west side of U.S. 45 in Pinson. He said they should be ready to go when needed.
“The TBI is doing an extensive search,” Mapes said. “They need a pristine area, and they don’t need a lot of folks out there. Be patient. I’m sure they’ll want the volunteers, but at this moment they’re just doing specific searches.”
Mapes said the TBI was gridding the area, and teams were searching ponds before volunteers would be used.
Authorities and locals of a rural Tennessee community continue to search the woods for a toddler named Noah after he disappeared two days ago.
More than 500 community members of Pinson, Tenn., sprang into action to search the 600-acre wooded area where 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin went missing during a walk with his 4-year-old sister and his grandmother.
The toddler’s disappearance triggered a huge community outpouring as hundreds of people volunteered to help look for Noah.
Locals have started a social media campaign with the hashtag #FindNoah.
The volunteers filled the Chester County Sheriff’s department, outfitted themselves with reflective vests and filled busses transporting them to the woods where Noah was last seen.

Dan Haggerty, the actor who played mountain man Grizzly Adams with his sidekick, a real bear named Ben, in the 1974 movie (VIDEO) that would become a NBC TV weekly show, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams, has passed away. Dan Haggerty died Friday in Burbank, California at 74 as a result of cancer of the spine. Haggerty. who rose to stardom with his rose as the gently mountain man, Grizzly Adams, who was falsely accused of murder and fled to the woods. On a personal note, how I loved this show growing up as a kid and could not wait for it all week to come on. Grizzly Adams and his relationship with an orphaned bear named Ben, Hollywood take note. The TV series ran from 1977 to 1978. Why does it seem like it was so much longer? Maybe it was because it was one of my favorite TV shows of all time!

Early on in his career and this was something I never knew, Haggerty was cast in a small non-speaking role as a bodybuilder in the 1964 film Muscle Beach Party, with Franky Avalon and Annette Funicello, and also as a bodybuilder in Girl Happy. These were followed by appearances in various biker and wildlife films such as Easy Rider, Angels Die Hard, The Adventures of Frontier Fremont, and Terror Out of the Sky.
Dan Haggerty, who played a gentle mountain man with a luxuriant beard and a bear named Ben in the 1974 movie “The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams” and the NBC television series of the same name, died on Friday in Burbank, Calif. He was 73.
The cause was cancer of the spine, his friend and manager Terry Bomar said.
Mr. Haggerty was working as a stuntman and animal handler in Hollywood when a producer asked him to act in some opening scenes he was reshooting for a film about a woodsman and his bear. Based on the novel “The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams,” by Charles Sellier Jr., it told the story of a California man falsely accused of murder who flees to the woods, where he develops a rapport with the animals around him and tames an orphaned bear.

ABC News has confirmed with the actor’s manager Terry Bomar:
“Dan Haggerty, a beloved Father and friend, has died at 4:30 this morning at St Joseph Hospital in Burbank, CA, surrounded by his family that loved him. He had fought a long hard battle with cancer of the spine that was discovered in August of this year,” Bomar wrote in a press release.
He continued, “All the awards pale in comparison to his huge laugh and wonderful sense of humor that made everyone laugh with him. He would light up any room he entered. He loved life, loved his family, loved his friends and fans.”

Daniel Francis Haggerty was born on Nov. 19, 1942, in Los Angeles. His parents separated when he was 3, and he had a troubled childhood, escaping several times from military school before going to live with his father, an actor, in Burbank, Calif.
At 17 he married Diane Rooker. The marriage ended in divorce. His second wife, the former Samantha Hilton, died after a motorcycle accident in 2008. He is survived by his children, Megan, Tracy, Dylan, Cody and Don.
His first film was “Muscle Beach Party” (1964), in which he played a body builder named Biff opposite Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. Bit parts in biker and wildlife films followed, as characters like “Bearded Biker” or “Biker With Bandana.” He appeared briefly in “Easy Rider” as a member of the hippie commune that Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper visit.
He made several films with an outdoor setting, including “Where the North Wind Blows” (1974), in which he played a Siberian tiger trapper, and “The Adventures of Frontier Fremont” (1976). He appeared as a dog trainer in the David Carradine film “Americana” (1983). In “Grizzly Mountain” (1997) and “Escape to Grizzly Mountain” (2000) he played a character very much like Grizzly Adams.
As his career cooled, Mr. Haggerty appeared in horror films like “Terror Night” (1987), “Elves” (1989) — playing an alcoholic mall Santa — and “Axe Giant: The Wrath of Paul Bunyan” (2013).
Folk Singer James Twyman Travels to Syria and Hopes Peace Concert for ISIS Will Win Over Terror Group
HMM, WHY DO I THINK THAT ISIS WON’T BE AS RECEPTIVE?
Despite warning from the State Department, folk singer James Twyman, of Portland, Oregon, plans to travel to Syria next week and perform a concert for ISIS. Twyman says that he believes he can soften the hearts of these fundamental Islamists who make a living out of beheading Westerners, throwing gays off of buildings and summarily executing innocent women and children and killing their fellow Muslims. We may want to add liberal, moonbat folk singers to the list as well.
Oh my, how do we think this is going to end? Can you say, no well. The only think that might prevent this misguided individual from having his head cut off by ISIS is the fact that they might be laughing so hard. To think that Twyman believe “kumbaya” songs will soften these savages, might be just as insane as the ideology of ISIS itself.
James Twyman: Be the Change
An Oregon folk singer plans to leave next week to serenade the Islamic State, and he intends to bring the black-clad barbarians a prayerful message of peace — despite a warning from the State Department that his life could be in danger.
James Twyman, of Portland, Ore., told FoxNews.com he feels a “calling” and believes he can soften the hearts of the Islamist army known for beheading Westerners, throwing gays off of buildings and summarily executing innocent women and children.
“It’s going to be pretty powerful,” Twyman said, referring to his plan to have those attending and others around the world sing and pray for peace at the same time. “When people come together and focus on something in a positive way…there’s scientific evidence that it can change things for the better.”
The author and self-styled “Peace Troubadour” has put traditional prayers from various faiths to song. Twyman performed in Baghdad in the late 1990s after Operation Desert Storm; in Bosnia and Croatia during the Balkan War in 1995 and has even performed previously in Syria to spread his message of peace through song.
Twyman leaves Jan. 20, and plans to stop in Italy before heading to Israel. From there, he will then cross over the northern border shared with Syria to a small Druze village.
While that village, Majdal Shams, is occupied by Israel, Twyman said he has contacts there trying to set up a venue in ISIS-controlled territory. Either way, the show is set for Jan. 31.
We wish him well, but why do I fell this might be the last concert that this folk singer will ever be performing? It would appear that JWF thinks this might be his farewell tour as well.
