A 2 year old bear that found its way on to the University of Colorado at Boulder yesterday is alive, safe and free today in the wild, although asking himself, why do I have such a damn headache. The bear climbed up a tree on campus and then appeared to have stage fright to come down. The bear was tranquilized and eventually fell out of the tree. Maybe the best part and definitely the best line of the video below was when the bear fell out of the try and pretty much hit the ground with a thud. One of the individuals filming the video stated, “That wasn’t very accurate in the catching”. No kidding.
Wildlife officials tranquilized a 60-pound bear that found a resting spot in a tree on the University of Colorado campus in Boulder.
The Daily Camera reports the 2-year-old bear was spotted Friday morning and stayed in the tree for about four hours until wildlife officers used a dart gun to tranquilize it. The bear fell about 30 feet, hitting some mats before rolling onto the ground.
It briefly popped its head up before falling asleep.
Jennifer Churchill with Colorado Parks and Wildlife says the bear will be relocated as far from campus as possible.

One thing I have to laugh at, was this a union job to rescue the bear? I count 8 men to deal with a 2 year old passed out bear. Make that 9, I man with a hat and his hands on his hips looking productive just entered the video at 9:14. Correction again, make that 10 people. Now a man in a brown shirt with handcuffs is in the video at 9:35. He must be there to arrest the bear for trespassing. I stand corrected again, now they have panned out in the final shots of the video and there are actually 14 individuals present to deal with this including two police officers. It must have been a slow day in Boulder.

Through this video the public has witnessed the excessive manpower that government uses to deal with any situation. Four people would have been used by a private concern to get the bear out of the tree. When any agency is over staffed, the workers are bored and looking for something to do.
