Daines’ victory Tuesday gives Republicans a Senate seat that they have not held in more than a century. Republicans sought to gain at least six seats to win control of the Senate.
Daines, a first-term congressman from Bozeman, won voters over by emphasizing more jobs and less government. His campaign spent millions of dollars to spread that message.
