Pulling a hay wagon with a jeep and probably no electric or other brakes on the wagon is a prescription for disaster. The wagon weighed more than the jeep and it became the control vehicle on the downhill run.
Farmers at one time in the past had sense enough to set up a hayride with proper equipment. That would be with horses and someone who knew how to drive the team and use the hand brake or foot brake on the wagon. A tough lesson for those involved.
