Latest NBC Marist Poll Shows GOP Opening Up Leads in Key Senate Races Ahead of 2014 Midterms

Republicans need a net pickup of 6 Senate seats in the 2014 midterm elections in order to wrestle control away from Harry Reid and Democrats.

The GOP need a net pickup of 6 Senate seats in order to gain control of the US Senate. A recent NBC/Marist poll shows that although Democrat incumbent Sen. Mark Udall is still leading in Colorado, Republicans are surging in the key “red” state races in Kentucky and Arkansas. US Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR) leads incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor by five points among likely voters, 45% to 40%. Although Kentucky is not a pickup for the GOP, some Democrats have thought that it could be a possible loss for the GOP. However, that does not appear to be the case. In reality, the GOP already is at a +3 as Republicans will pick up seats in the open Senate races formerly held by Democrats in Montana, West Virginia and South Dakota.

Other Senate seats currently held by Democrats that are now in play include Alaska, Louisiana, North Carolina, Iowa, New Hampshire and Michigan.  My person opinion is that the GOP with have a net pick up of 7, possibly 8 Senate seats. If all things go right, it could be 9, but my gut feeling says this will not be a wave election like in 2010 because too many establishment Republicans are running and the establishment appears to have no clue that their conservative base is what wins elections. Not being Democrat light.

US Rep. Cotton (R-AR) calls Democrat Sen. Pryor a good Obama foot soldier, who was the deciding vote for Obamacare and who has voted with Obama 93% of the time.

Republican Senate candidates have opened up leads in the key states of Arkansas and Kentucky, putting them in a strong position to win back the U.S. Senate, according to new NBC News/Marist polls.

But another NBC/Marist poll shows Democrats holding on in the blue state of Colorado, suggesting a limit to the gains that Republicans could make in November.

In Arkansas, Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., leads incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor by five points among likely voters, 45 percent to 40 percent, with two minor candidates getting a combined 5 percent.

In Kentucky, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is ahead of Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes by eight points among likely voters, 47 percent to 39 percent, with Libertarian David Patterson getting another 8 percent.

And in Colorado, incumbent Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., is up by six points over Rep. Cory Gardner, 48 percent to 42 percent.

Greta Van Susteren Says the Obama White House Pressured Her to Get FOX News Reporter to Back Down on Benghazi Investigation

More dirty Chicago-style politics and shredding of the First Amendment by the Obama Administration …

FOX News’ Greta Van Susteren admitted Friday in “Off the Record” that she was called by the Obama White House and pressured to get Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin (VIDEO) to back down on her Benghazi investigation. So much for The US Constitution, the First Amendment and Freedom of the Press. Of course we know the rest of the lapdog media was more than willing to oblige Obama.

“Since day one of Benghazi FOX News has been aggressively investigating. It hasn’t been easy. It’s been more like pulling teeth to get answers from the Obama administration. The Obama administration’s behavior post Benghazi has been weird. Like they’re trying to hide something. First that silly story about that video. Remember Susan Rice on all the Sunday talk shows? Even President Obama kept talking about the video for weeks. So FOX continued to press for information … A few weeks later when FOX news reporter Jennifer Griffin said she was told there was a stand-down order at Benghazi, I got a weird call from the Obama administration trying to pressure me to get Jennifer to back down on her report. I thought the call from the Obama administration was dirty. Incidentally, I don’t control my colleagues and they don’t control me.”

IRS-Gate Continues … IRS Now Says It Has Lost Emails of Five Other Employees Related to Congressional Probes

NEXT TIME THE IRS HARASSES YOU, IMAGINE IF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU USED THE EXACT SAME TACTICS THEY HAVE USED TO EXPLAIN AWAY LOST EMAILS, DOCUMENTS, BLACKBERRY’S AND PLEADING THE 5TH …

IRS-GATE CONTINUES … The Internal Revenue Service is now claiming that they have lost emails from five other IRS employees, related to Congressional probes into the IRS targeting conservative non-profit Tea Party groups,  including two agents who worked in a Cincinnati office processing applications for tax-exempt status. Imagine that, what a coincidence? Right Wind News says, “at this point, even liberals have to admit that this stinks like a 5 day old fish.” I am not so sure, I believe they have lost their sense of smell and sense of loyalty to country, rather than party.  It is true that all,  including elected Democrat politicians, the MSM and Democrat voters can see the IRS corruption, lying and cover-up , but are completely unwilling to hold the IRS accountable. Of course it would be a different story if they were the one’s being targeted, see Richard Nixon.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa stated, “The IRS’s ever-changing story is practically impossible to follow at this point, as they modify it each time to accommodate new facts. This pattern must stop.” Attention Darrell Issa, House Republicans, et all, the only way the IRS’s pattern is going to stop is to defund the agency and abolish it. Enough is enough, never did our Founding Fathers ever foresee the creation of any central government agency with such unchecked powers to target political enemies.

The IRS said Friday that it has lost emails from five other employees involved in congressional probes into the agency’s targeting of conservative groups, leading one top Republican to declare “this pattern must stop.”

The announcement comes after the agency said in June that it could not locate an untold number of emails to and from Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS division that processes applications for tax-exempt status. The revelation set off a new round of investigations and congressional hearings.

On Friday, the IRS issued a report to Congress saying the agency also lost emails from five other employees related to the probe, including two agents who worked in a Cincinnati office processing applications for tax-exempt status.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, whose committee has been investigating the scandal, said the disclosure is yet another example of the Obama administration changing its story on the scandal.

“The IRS’s ever-changing story is practically impossible to follow at this point, as they modify it each time to accommodate new facts,” Issa, R-Calif., said. “This pattern must stop.”
