Could the mystery of missing Teleka Patrick finally be solved?

The body of missing 33 year old Kalamazoo doctor Teleka Patrick may have been found in northern Indiana.  A body was found in Lake Charles on Sunday morning when a fisherman discovered something floating in the water around 7 am. There has been no confirmation yet; however, the mother of  Teleka Patrick believes it id her.  Teleka Patrick went missing on December 5, 2013 when she was last seen in the parking lot of Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, IN. Patrick’s car was found later that night off I-94 near Porter, Indiana.

A body was found in Lake Charles on Sunday morning. Police have yet to identify the body officially, but Patrick’s mother says that it was her daughter’s body.

Another family member says that they hadn’t received confirmation yet.

A man fishing in the lake said he saw something floating in the water at Lake Charles around 7:10 a.m. and called the police.

UPDATE I: Body Found Floating in Indiana Lake Linked to Missing Michigan Doctor.

The body was spotted by a fisherman who reported to police that he had spotted something suspicious floating in Lake Charles, in the town of Porter, Ind., just after 7 a.m. today, authorities said.

A female body dressed in dark clothing was recovered from the lake by Indiana State Police and members of the SCUBA team and Porter Fire and Rescue Department who arrived at the scene.

There were “no obvious external signs of trauma to the body,” Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris said. “There is some decomposition, so it’s hard to tell for sure.”

The autopsy will be performed Tuesdayand the identification of body should be confirmed by Wednesday, he said.

UPDATE II: Private investigator Jim Carlin told CBS affiliate WWMT in Kalamazoo, Mich., there are several factors that lead him to believe the body is that of Dr. Teleka Patrick.

There is “no doubt” the body of a woman recovered from an Indiana lake is that of a troubled Michigan doctor who disappeared four months ago, a private investigator on the case said Sunday.

Private investigator Jim Carlin told CBS affiliate WWMT in Kalamazoo, Mich., there are several factors that lead him to believe the body is that of Dr. Teleka Patrick. He has been searching for the Kalamazoo doctor, who was last seen on Dec. 5. Her abandoned car car was found that same day along Interstate 94 in Indiana.

UPDATE III: Missing Michigan doctor’s body identified after discovery in Indiana lake.

A body found in an Indiana lake has been identified as that of Teleka Patrick, the Michigan doctor who’s been missing since December, the Porter County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

Her body was discovered Sunday in Lake Charles, west of Gary, Indiana, officials said.

The cause and manner of death are still pending further investigation, but are consistent with drowning, the coroner said in a statement Tuesday. An autopsy revealed no trauma, the statement added.
