According to authorities, a body found Sunday morning in the Piscataqua River near Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH matches the description of missing 19 year old University of New Hampshire student Jonathan Zygmont. Although there has not yet been an official positive ID, initial reports suggest that it is the missing UNH student. Jonathan Zygmont went missing on September 17, 2013 and was last seen near Prescott Park Tuesday evening in Portsmouth.
The state medical examiner is expected to identify the body Monday morning.
New Hampshire police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Piscataqua River that matches the description of a University of New Hampshire student who went missing nearly two week ago.
The body was discovered Sunday morning near Prescott Park in Portsmouth, police said.
In a prepared statement, the university said the body has not been positively identified, but a preliminary review suggests it might be a first-year UNH student who lived on campus. Jonathan Zygmont, 19, was last seen near the park on Sept. 17.
