IRS Says Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family … Two-Thirds of Americans Don’t Know If They Will Insure Under Obamacare

Welcome to the Barack Obama Health “UN”affordability Act of 2010 …

Free health care eh? I guess Nancy Pelosi was correct when she said, ”We Have to Pass Our Bill So That You Can Find Out What Is In It.”  From CNS News, now we learn that the cheapest Obamacare plan will cost $20,000 per family. And guess who comes after you and tracks whether you have purchased the mandatory insurance, the IRS, that same organization that has shown all of America that they cannot be trusted.

In the examples, the IRS assumes that families of five who are uninsured would need to pay an average of $20,000 per year to purchase a Bronze plan in 2016.

Using the conditions laid out in the regulations, the IRS calculates that a family earning $120,000 per year that did not buy insurance would need to pay a “penalty” (a word the IRS still uses despite the Supreme Court ruling that it is in fact a “tax”) of $2,400 in 2016.

CNS NEWS:

In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.

Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS.

The IRS’s assumption that the cheapest plan for a family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.

The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan.

From CNBC News, Two-Thirds of Americans Don’t Know If They Will Insure Under Obamacare

There’s no assurance folks will be buying insurance under Obamacare, and that could spell trouble for the Affordable Care Act.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans who currently lack health insurance don’t know yet if they will purchase that coverage by the Jan. 1 deadline set by the ACA, a new survey revealed Monday.

And less than half of those in the survey released by InsuranceQuotes.com think they’ll get better health care after Obamacare takes full effect. Nearly 50 percent believe the ACA will make it more difficult for them to get tests and procedures done in a timely manner, according to the phone survey of 1,001 adult Americans conducted in early May.

And a whopping 68 percent of low-income Americans aren’t sure they qualify for tax credits that would subsidize their purchase of health insurance—despite they fact that they almost invariably will qualify, the survey found. That population is most likely to benefit from government subsidies under the health-care reform law.

Police investigating case of missing East Toledo girl

Police said they later checked the residence “at least five times” and conducted door-to-door searches in the neighborhood but failed to find the girl. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

Sgt. Joe Heffernan would not say whether police suspect that the incident could involve an abduction, saying only that “[when] we have a 1 1/2-year-old girl missing, we’re always concerned.”

Massachusetts US Senate Race between Markey (D) and Gomez (R) Called a ‘Toss Up’ … Could the GOP Win Another Special Election in the Bay State?

Could Republicans win another Senate special election in Massachusetts?

The Cook Political Report has announced that nit is changing  its prediction for the Massachusetts US Senate special election between Democrat Rep. Ed Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez from “leans Democrat” to “toss up”. How is it possible that Secretary of State John Kerry’s former Senate seat could be in trouble in the dark blue state of Massachusetts? Ed Markey is an 18 term Democrat Congressman and registered Democrats outnumber their GOP counterparts in Massachusetts by a margin of 3 to 1 margin. Yet, the Cook Political report has this race as a toss up. Could the GOP pull off another special US Senate election win like they did in 2010 when Scott Brown won?

The 2013 United States Senate special election in Massachusetts will be held on June 25, 2013, to fill the Massachusetts Class II United States Senate seat formerly held by John Kerry for the remainder of the term ending January 3, 2015

The Cook report announced Thursday that it was shifting its prediction for the race from “leaning Democrat” to “toss up,” although the group acknowledged it still had its “thumb on the scale” for Democrat Edward Markey, an 18-term congressman who has consistently polled ahead of his Republican rival, businessman Gabriel Gomez.

“In truth, we have had a difficult time accepting the idea that this race might get close,” wrote Cook’s Jennifer Duffy. “At the same time, Democrats nominated a long-serving member of Congress at a time when Congress is an almost universally unpopular institution. It doesn’t help that Markey has not had a competitive race in decades.”

More from the Cook Political Report.

PPP’s first poll of the general election in the Massachusetts Senate special finds a close race, with Ed Markey leading Gabriel Gomez by a 44-40 margin.

Gomez is starting out as a pretty popular candidate, with 41% of voters rating him favorably to 27% with an unfavorable opinion. Beyond having good numbers with Republicans he’s at 42/24 with independents, and actually seen narrowly positively even by Democrats at 33/32. Voters meanwhile are more divided on Markey, with 44% holding a positive view of him to 41% with a negative one. He’s at 31/50 with independents.

For a Republican to be competitive in Massachusetts they need to win independents by a hefty margin and get a fair amount of crossover support from Democrats, and right now Gomez is doing both of those things. He’s up 47/31 with independents and winning over 21% of Democratic voters. Both those numbers suggest that some folks who supported Stephen Lynch in the primary are being a little reticent about supporting Markey in the general.

Don’t Mess With Texas… ‘Merry Christmas Bill’ Expected Soon to Become Law in Texas

It’s Christmas come early in Texas … ‘Merry Christmas Bill’ expected to become law in Texas soon.

It would appear that the following will no longer have to be asked by school children in Texas, “Daddy, why do we have a Christmas tree at home and a Holiday tree at school?”

Texas Governor Rick Perry is expected to sign legislation allowing public schools to celebrate Christmas and other winter holidays plainly and explicitly without fear of lawsuits. The proposed law, is called the “Merry Christmas Bill,” has already passed both the Texas House and Senate and now awaits the Perry’s signature. The bill allows “students and district staff” to declare such things such as “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Hanukkah,” and even the soul-sucking “happy holidays.” Oh, the ACLU and anti-Christian organizations are going to lose their mind with this. How sad is it that we have to pass a law to prevent a school from doing this to exempt them from being sued? Is the “war on Christmas” over? Hardly, PC libs are sure to challenge it at the first chance. They will get some 7 year old to say they are being made to feel uncomfortable by being wished a Merry Christmas”.

The text of the bill specifically permits school districts to “educate students about the history of traditional winter celebrations.” More importantly and, somehow, controversially, the bill allows “students and district staff” to declare such things such as “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Hanukkah,” and even the soul-sucking “happy holidays.”

The bill also unambiguously legalizes displays of the religious imagery associated with traditional winter celebrations including nativity scenes, Christmas trees and menorahs. The caveat is that all displays must include imagery from at least two religions or some additional secular symbol. (Messages encouraging adherence to a religion are verboten, too.)

Former IRS Commissioner Douglass Shulman’s Wife Works for Liberal Group, Public Campaign, Fighting Open Campaign Spending

Hmm, this is just a coincidence I guess, you just can’t make this stuff up.

Former Internal Revenue Service commissioner Douglas Shulman, the individual who made 157 trips to the White House, when the IRS was targeting conservative and Tea Party non-profit groups, is married to Susan L. Anderson, a senior program advisor for the Lefty organization, Public Campaign. Of all things, the liberal group fights against open campaign spending of conservatives, the very thing that the IRS scandal was preventing by stalling conservative and Tea Party non-profits. Coincidence, what about conflict of interest?

The IRS is under fire for improperly scrutinizing the tax-exempt nonprofit status of conservative groups between 2010 and 2012, demanding conservative training materials, personal information on conservative college interns and even the content of religious groups’ prayers. IRS supporters have defended the beleaguered agency by railing against outside spending and special interest money supposedly pumped into the 2012 campaign by conservative benefactors.

One of those defenders is the group of which Shulman’s spouse is an executive.

Shulman’s wife Susan L. Anderson is the senior program advisor for the Washington-based nonprofit organization Public Campaign, which claims that it “is laying the foundation for reform by working with a broad range of organizations, including local community groups, around the country that are fighting for change and national organizations whose members are not fairly represented under the current campaign finance system.”

Earlier this month, when news broke of the targeting scandal broke, Public Campaign president and CEO Nick Nyhart belittled the concerns of disenfranchised conservatives.
