RSS16 Year Old Ana Lopez Missing Since June 26, 2013 in Newton, MA (Update: Found Safe)
16 year old Ana Lopez has been missing since Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Newton, Massachusetts. Ana Lopez last spoke with her mother, Paulina Canales, on the phone Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. when she told her mother that she was leaving the house after an argument with a family member. Ana Lopez has not been seen or heard from since then. Ana has been known to frequent Harvard Square, Boston Common and Salem.
Ana is described as a Hispanic female, 5-feet-2-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown hair that has blonde and red highlights. She also has two piercing’s on each side of her lower lip.
As reported at the Boston Globe, when authorities were asked if foul play was suspected they stated, “We don’t think so at this time, but it’s an ongoing investigation.”

UPDATE I: Dive teams search pond for missing Newton teen.
Dive teams scoured Newton’s Hammond Pond frantically searching for 16-year-old Ana Lopez, last seen Thursday. Her mother, now making a desperate for any information.
Investigators say they Ping’d the teen’s cell phone in the area shortly after Lopez last spoke with her family. Nothing in the call seemed out of the ordinary.
“At this time it’s really noting. Ever since that last phone conversation with her mother, it’s just been nothing out there,” Lt. Apotheker said.
Police say so far there are no indications of any foul play, but they are concerned for the teen’s safety.
UPDATE II: The missing Newton teenager authorities began searching for Saturday night was found safely in Boston on Sunday and returned home.
Could Sarah Palin and Mark Levin Leave the Republican Party and Creating a New One Called the “Freedom Party?”
If Sarah Palin and Mark Levin create the “Freedom Party” it is not because they left the Republican Party, it is because the Republican Party left them.
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin responded to a Fox News Channel viewer’s Twitter question Saturday about the possibility of creating a new political party called the “Freedom Party” with fellow conservative and talk show host Mark Levin. Palin floated the idea of crating a new party if the GOP continues to abandon its conservative principles. Personally, I am not too far away from telling the establishment GOP to take a hike myself. The Republican party has turned into the RINO party where they have produced continued moderate, wishy-washy presidential candidates like John McCain and Mitt Romney. It was conservatives and the Tea Party vote and enthusiasms in 2010 and won the House for the GOP. Since then the establishment, elitists Republicans have fought conservatives every inch of the way.
Tuesday’s elections were seen as a crucial moment for measuring the staying power of the Tea Party movement, which was born out of frustration with the political establishment and steeped in economic anxiety.
“I don’t think there’s any question that if it were not for the Tea Party, the Republican margin in the House of Representatives would not be as high as it’s going to be,” CNN senior political analyst David Gergen said Tuesday night. “They gave a lot of enthusiasm and fuel to the Republican Party.”
Now we are witness to Republicans like Marco Rubio, who claimed to be a conservative, and the other back stabbing Republicans who voted for the Senate bill on immigration where they thumbed their nose at the rule of law and created an amnesty bill. It is not Obama or Democrats that have ruined the GOP, it is the establishment republicans who have done so, putting your personal power ahead of country and principles.
Enough is enough Republican Party, you are about to go the way of the Whigs if you keep it up. More and more I actually think that a third party is the way to go because the establishment Republicans are really no different than Democrats. Big government progressives are progressives no matter what party affiliation they belong to.
I love the name of that party — the ‘Freedom Party,’” Palin said. “And if the GOP continues to back away from the planks in our platform, from the principles that built this party of Lincoln and Reagan, then yeah, more and more of us are going to start saying, ‘You know, what’s wrong with being independent,’ kind of with that libertarian streak that much of us have. In other words, we want government to back off and not infringe upon our rights. I think there will be a lot of us who start saying ‘GOP, if you abandon us, we have nowhere else to go except to become more independent and not enlisted in a one or the other private majority parties that rule in our nation, either a Democrat or a Republican.’ Remember these are private parties, and you know, no one forces us to be enlisted in either party.”
UPDATE I: Some web sites that used to once be credible when run by James Joyner, think that we are “true believers” because we actually believe in holding politicians to their word. Go figure. No one said forming a third party was easy. In fact, if one was ever formed the GOP would probably become a “super” minority in government. But at some point one has to either vote for their principles or vote in political whores who cannot be trusted. Marco Rubio and Bob Corker ran on securing the border before any talk of pathway to citizenship. Of course that was before they were elected. Why would either of them wonder why they are being looked upon as turn-coats and backstabbers? Hmm, from The Atlantic 2006, Corker says he is against illegal immigration.
In Tennessee’s Senate race, meanwhile, Democrat Harold Ford takes a hard line on border security. One of his television ads says, “Harold Ford Jr. will get control of our borders, get tough on illegals and employers who break the law.” His Republican opponent, construction company owner Bob Corker, calls Ford a phony. A Corker ad claims that Ford “votes against border security and against putting troops on the border, then says he wants to fight illegal immigration.”
In the video below, Rubio says we have a significant illegal immigration problem in this country. We have to balance that we are a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws. Its just too bad his Senate Gang of 8 bill was just pandering to illegals and no upfront border security.
Remember when Rubio cared about the rule of law and the US Constitution?
At some point when a party no longer is principled and can be believed as to what they say they will do, let alone serve the people they represent, what else is there but to create something that will? Just ask the Whigs.

Barack Obama Compares Nelson Mandela To America’s First President George Washington, Who Knew the Father of Our Country was an America-bashing Communist?
As Barack Obama was on his $100 million vacation in South Africa, Obama compared former South African President Nelson Mandela to America’s first President George Washington. Hmm. I realize that Obama is trying to say something nice about a dying man, but to compare to George Washington, really? I guess the president just over looks that little fact that Mandela is a Communist. I do not remember George Washington being one. But then again, in Obama’s world, who knows. And then there was that little thing of Mandela bashing America. But I guess when Obama feels the need to apologize for America all the time, maybe he relates? Once again, Obama lives up to his moniker, “Divider in Chief” and a community agitator. Via ABC News, via Free Republic:
Although President Obama will not get a chance to see Nelson Mandela on his trip to South Africa, he is using his historic visit to pay tribute to the man he calls a hero to the world and will meet today with the Mandela family.
At a joint press conference with South African President Jacob Zuma this morning, President Obama spoke extensively about Mandela’s legacy.
“Our thoughts and those of Americans and people all around the world are with Nelson Mandela and his family and all of South Africans,” Obama said. “The struggle here for freedom, Madiba’s moral courage, this country’s historic transition to a free nation has been a personal inspiration to me, an inspiration to the world, and it continues to be.”
“Mandela shows what was possible when a priority is placed on human dignity, respect for law, that all people are treated equally,” Obama said.
“And what Nelson Mandela also stood for is that the well-being of the country is more important than the interests of any one person,” Obama continued. “George Washington is admired because after two terms he said enough, I’m going back to being a citizen. There were no term limits, but he said I’m a citizen. I served my time. And it’s time for the next person, because that’s what democracy is about. And Mandela similarly was able to recognize that, despite how revered he was, that part of this transition process was greater than one person.”
Or as Weasel Zippers opines, “Except for the fact that Mandela is an America-bashing Communist who once said, “If there is a country in the world that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America.”

George Zimmerman Murder Trial : Prosecution Witness John Good Delivers Major Blow to States Case Against George Zimmerman (State Witness Says Trayvon Martin on Top … “Ground & Pound, MMA Style) VIDEO
Second key prosecution witness devastates the State’s case against George Zimmerman for second degree murder.
What is going on with this case? The prosecution is supposed to present evidence and witnesses that prove beyond a reasonable doubt that George Zimmerman committed the second degree murder of Trayvon Martin. In the first week of the trial, they have done more damage to their case than help and if one looked at the trial objectively, one would swear that the prosecutors were the defense team. A second key prosecution witness has dealt a major blow to the State’s case. Prosecution witness John Good may have caused irreparable damage to the States case with his testimony and dismantled the prosecutions case as Good stated that Trayvon Martin was straddling Zimmerman the entire time.
“He was on his back. The person on the top was the same person on the top when they were T-shaped to the sidewalk … Like, there was only one person. Then I could see a second person. It looked more than just a tussle. And that’s when I thought it got serious when they moved up to the sidewalk and he was more in a straddle position and arm movements were going downward … As soon as I saw the arm movement that’s when I went back inside. In the beginning (I heard George Zimmerman screaming for help) when I saw someone under the person on top.”

More from CBS News and John Good’s damning testimony to the defense. This was supposed to be a witness favorable to the prosecution, in the end, that was hardly the case. Good testified he saw a person in black clothing on top of another person with “white or red” clothing. Good said he couldn’t see faces but he “could tell that the person on the bottom had a lighter skin color.”

The altercation seemed to escalate, according to Good. The struggle moved to the cement pathway, and he said the person in dark clothing straddled the other man in “mixed martial arts position” he later described to police as a “ground and pound.” He said he saw “arm movements going downward,” though he couldn’t be certain the person on top was striking the person on the bottom.
“The person you now know to be Trayvon Martin was on top, correct?” asked defense attorney Mark O’Mara. “He was the one raining blows down on George Zimmerman, correct?”
“That’s what it looked like,” Good answered.
Good said he then went back inside to call 911. As he was dialing the phone, he heard a gunshot. His 911 call was played in court as the jury listened.
“I just heard a shot right behind my house. They’re wrestling right in back of my porch,” Good said on the recording. “…I’m pretty sure the guy’s dead out here. Holy sh–.”
Later, prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda asked whether it was possible a police officer could have used the term “ground and pound” before he did.
“It’s possible,” Good said.
De la Rionda honed in on Good’s earlier statement that he couldn’t confirm the person on top was hitting the other person.
“Correct,” Good said.

Another Day, Another NFL Arrest … Indianapolis Colts Safety Joe Lefeged Arrested on Multiple Gun Charges in Washington, DC

According to NFL.com, Indianapolis Colts safety Joe Lefeged was arrested early Saturday morning in Washington, DC, on multiple gun charges. Lefeged was in white Camaro with two other men when police attempted to stop it for driving erratically. After attempting to flee from police, Lefeged and another passenger, Timothy Wilson, were arrested. Lefeged and Timothy Wilson be charged with carrying a firearm without license, unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol. Lefeged is being held without bail pending a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Indianapolis Colts safety Joe Lefeged was arrested early Saturday morning in Washington, D.C., on multiple gun-related charges after fleeing from authorities, Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Araz Alali told NFL.com and NFL Network.
The 25-year-old Lefeged was traveling in a vehicle around 12:05 a.m. ET, with Aaron Timothy Wilson, 23, when police attempted to stop them. Following a chase, both men were arrested, Alali confirmed. The gun was a .40 caliber, accoding to a police report obtained by NFL.com.
Lefeged and Wilson will face arraignment Saturday afternoon on charges that include carrying a firearm without a license, unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol, Alali said. Lefeged is from Germantown, Md., a town located about 30 miles from D.C.
As if the NFL needed another arrest after the first degree murder charges that were brought this past week against former New England Patriot’s TE Aaron Hernandez.
