Senator Joe Lieberman (CT-I) Says on “Fox News Sunday” US Needs a National Commission to Review all Factors that Play into Mass Murder Shootings
America, you you people actually understand why the Founding Fathers provided you Liberties and protections from the government?
This morning on FOX News Sunday, out-going Senator Joe Lieberman (CT-I) called for a national commission to be created to scrutinize all factors that go into mass murder shootings. Lieberman is calling for more than just looking at gun control and a ban on assault weapons. He is asking for a greater review than just guns, he wants a review of the mental health system and the role that violent video games and movies might play in shootings. However, that is not what Democrats are referring to … they strictly want to go after their lazy and liberal agenda of going after assault rifles. So what happens when the next mass shooting is done with multiple hand guns or a bomb?
The proposals are among the first to come from Congress in the wake of Friday’s school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, tells “Fox News Sunday” that a national commission could be used to scrutinize the nation’s gun laws, mental health system and the role that violent video games and movies might play in shootings.
I would say this … do not ever make a rash and knew-jerk reaction decision based on a tragic event. We take the same approach in our personal lives. Don’t think for one second that the liberals in Congress want all the guns. You give these big-government and intrusive progressives an inch and they will take everything.
Final question … so say there is an assault weapons ban and then we have another school shooting where only hand guns are used. You have now provided the precedent for the government to take away the hand guns as well.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
