Mitt Romney Gets 5 Point Bounce after RNC Convention, Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll: Romney 48% – Obama 44% … Romney Also Up by 2% in Swing State Daily Tracking Poll
It looks like Mitt Romney has received a 5, no 6 point bounce following the RNC Convention according to the Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll. Today’s rolling average tracking poll has Romney up 48% to 44% over Obama. Prior to the Republican National Convention Obama lead Romney by 2%. This is a much higher bounce than one would have expected since the voting electorate has become more polarized and with so much 24-7 political news, the days of big bounces are over.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 48% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 44% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
Just prior to this past week’s Republican National Convention, Romney trailed the president by two. Today’s four-point advantage confirms that the GOP hopeful has received the expected convention bounce. See daily tracking history. Romney also has gained ground in the swing state tracking results updated daily for subscribers at 10:00 a.m. Eastern.
Also, Mitt Romney has taken the lead in the Rasmussen Swing State Daily Tracking poll. Romney now leads Obama, 46% to 44%. However, in 2008, Barack Obama won these states by a combined margin of 53% to 46%. That’s a 9% swing from 2008.
Another little tidbit that defies the many polling models that are over-sampling their polls it the Democrats. Rasmussen reports that
the number of Republicans in America is at a record high.
During August, 37.6% of Americans considered themselves Republicans. That’s up from 34.9% in July and 35.4% in June. It’s also the largest number of Republicans ever recorded by Rasmussen Report since monthly tracking began in November 2002. The previous peak for the GOP was 37.3% in September 2004.
By all accounts the GOP had a successful convention. It was obviously targeted to the Independents in Swing States. Could they have done some things differently, of course. However, the three days of respectful intersection of the last 4 years and a plan for the future by a who’s who of GOP superstars and the future of the party will be contrasted with the partisan hacks and mean spirited blame Bush of the DNC.
We shall see what the Obama bounce is.

16 Year Old St. Francis Prep Student Daniel Fernandez of Sayreville, NJ Killed after Sticking Head through Party Bus Roof
TRAGEDY YES, ACCIDENT NO …
A 16 year old St. Francis Prep student, Daniel Fernandez, was killed while riding on party bus over the weekend after he hit his head on an overpass after he had popped the buses roof hatch. What a sad tragedy that never had to take place if teens would have just listened to warnings and acted responsibly. As reported at the LA Times, the bus had just left the George Washington Bridge at about 6:30 p.m. when Fernandez stuck his head out of the escape hatch on the ceiling and hit the underside of the overpass, Coleman said. He was pronounced dead at a local medical center.
A St. Francis Prep student was killed when his head hit an overpass as he clowned around on a New Jersey-bound party bus and popped out of a hatch in the roof near the George Washington Bridge Friday night, authorities said.
Daniel Fernandez, 16, an incoming junior at the Queens Catholic school, died at Hackensack University Medical Center from severe head trauma shortly after the 6:45 p.m. incident, law enforcement sources said.
Sixty-five teens boarded the double-decker bus in at the school in Fresh Meadows and had reached Fort Lee, N.J., on their way to a Sweet 16 party when the accident occurred, police said.
“When the bus went under the Fletcher Ave. overpass, the boy’s head struck the underside of that overpass,” a Port Authority spokesman said.
According to accounts, the security guard on the bus said he warned the exuberant teens to leave the rooftop hatch alone. However, it appears that they just could not listen. Sad, simply sad. Our hearts and prayers go out to Daniel’s family and friends. Please let this be a lesson to teens, LISTEN TO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD!
The security guard on the bus said he warned the exuberant teens to leave the rooftop hatch alone.
“I told them not to open the hatch, like three or four times, but kids, they don’t understand,” said Alex Franco, 41, who was the security guard on the bus.
Sand Sculpture of President Obama Washed Away in Charlotte, N.C. … Metaphor? Hmm, Looks More Like Jabba the Hut
Metaphor Alert: Democrats might as well get used to it … Obama sand sculpture washed away.
Talk about creepy. Who actually thought this was a good idea? It’s bad enough this sand Obama makes the presumption of a Mount Rushmore type sculpture, but damn, this creepy thing looks more like Jabba the Hut. Barack Obama is going to have more to worry about than getting washed away by bad weather in NC, losing North Carolina in the 2012 Presidential election for starters.
A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.
Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.
From the Lonely Conservative, the Obama sand sculpture might be better put to use as a kitty litter box. HAHAHA. More biting sarcasm from Ricochet. Priceless.
Unfortunately, as every child who’s spent a day at the beach well knows, sand castles–or cult-of-personality-worthy sand statues–aren’t known for their water resistance. And it rains during the summertime in North Carolina. Sometimes a lot.

Barack Obama, Leading from Behind … Obama Changes Schedule to Visit Louisiana, Guilted into It By Romney’s Visit to Gulf Coast to Tour Hurricane Isaac Damage
AMERICA, WE HAVE A JOKE OF A PRESIDENT IN THE WHITE HOUSE … LEADING FROM BEHIND!
Sorry, Barack Obama is not a President, he is not a Commander in Chief, he is an empty suit, elected on the false promise of “Hope & Change” and would rather campaign and fund raise as opposed to doing his job. It has been said over and over that Barack Obama does not lead, he follows. Obama, the President of the United States leads from behind.During this weeks RNC Convention, former Secretary of State Condi Rice said in a tremendous speech, “we cannot lead from behind”. Guess who she was referring to?
And I know too that there is weariness – a sense that we have carried these burdens long enough. But if we are not inspired to lead again, one of two things will happen – no one will lead and that will foster chaos — or others who do not share our values will fill the vacuum. My fellow Americans, we do not have a choice. We cannot be reluctant to lead – and one cannot lead from behind.
Yesterday, we reported that following the Republican National Convention, Mitt Romney, the GOP Presidential nominee, adjusted his campaign schedule and decided to tour Louisiana and the Hurricane Isaac storm damaged areas and meet with the affected people. Romney said, “I’m here to learn and obviously to draw some attention to what’s going on here”. Romney would do this along side Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. So it begs the question, where is Obama? Many on the LEFT whined and complained that the GOP should cancel their convention in Tampa, FL because of Hurricane Isaac. Instead, the GOP delayed the convention by an day and managed to push 4 days of activities into 3. What did Obama do? Well he continued to campaign as usual. The GOP convention was three years in the planning, Obama’s campaigning and fundraising, not so much. Barack Obama was business as usual and went to his campaign stops, but Obama Says He Discussed Hurricane Isaac by Phone—From Plane. That’s mighty big of you. This coming from the “Hypocrite in Chief who criticized GWB for not visiting fast enough the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina hit.
Some one needs to explain to me, better yet explain to the affected Hurricane Isaac individuals of the Gulf Coast, how in the hell the President of the United States did not visit the devastated areas of Louisiana before the GOP nominee? Mitt Romney changes his schedule to show his concern and visit with those who were affected by Isaac before Obama? Exactly which one is the President? We all know who should and will be President, but this is disgraceful.Talk about your Obama, leading from behind.

Another Joe Biden Gaffe … Biden Says to table of Greek men, “I’m Joe Bidenopoulos”
And you wounder why Team Obama thought different and pulled Biden from going to the RNC.
Vice President Joe Biden has been in the where are they now files for the past week as the Republican National Convention was successfully going on in Tampa, FL. However, it did not take long for the gaffe prone Biden to, well make another public gaffe.Biden introduces himself to a table of Greek men as Bidenopoulos. Huh? Honestly, these days I am surprised that Biden even knows his name.
Hard to believe this man is a heart beat away from the Presidency
Approaching a table of men he knew to be Greek, the VP said, “I’m Joe Bidenopoulos.”
“Ask George,” he said – unclear who George was, maybe someone at the table –“who’s the most Greek Irishman he’s ever known.” Sounded like Biden was suggesting he is.
As stated at Hot Air, this gaffe is some what harmless, but imagine the flack that would have been caused if Biden went up to a table of Rabbi’s and introduced himself as Joe Bidenberg or Bidenstein? Very true. Also, Going up to a table of men and introducing himself as, “I’m Joe Bidenopoulos” is hardly the same as his “put y’all back in chains” comment. One is a silly comment just trying to blend in to the room, kinda like when Obama develops a Southern drawl when he campaigns in the South. The latter “chains” comment is a hateful and divisive attempt to race bait, divide and fan the flames of racism.
It really is hard to believe that Biden is a heart beat away from the presidency. Democrats made Sarah Palin an issue in 2008, damn these days with Biden I am waiting for him to show up to a campaign appearance without pants. It probably really need to be an issue in 2012 that Biden is hardly capable of stepping into be President of the United States.
