A man says he spotted missing 20th Century Fox executive Gavin Smith this month at a Morro Bay restaurant.
David Bill, a Madison, Wis., native who frequently travels to the central California coast on business, told NBC4 he’s “almost certain” he saw a man May 7 matching Smith’s description with a woman at Taco Temple on Pacific Coast Highway.
“The next morning in the office, I noticed on the Yahoo main page that there was a news link to a missing Hollywood executive,” he told the TV station. “I happened to click on the link, saw the photo and said, ‘Oh boy, that’s the guy I saw in the restaurant the previous night.’ “
Hmm, maybe Gavin Smith is not missing, but just does not want to be found.

Hmnnnnnn… I smell insurance fraud.
Brings back memories of Olivia Newton John’s boyfriend who “disappeared”. Year or so later located in Mexico,I think. He wanted to disappear, due to money problems.
#2- Jayne—Yes, exactly! Wasn’t that just the oddest case until the FACTS came out.
Can you imagine people doing this to those that they love or that loved them? I am not sure how they actually manage to get away with it sometimes for long periods of time as well.
Amazing—with all the Insurance Fraud of today–it should be more difficult to be able to pull off, but apparently not. Some Identity Theft is so good and so authentic looking, that when Insurance Fraud like this happens, the new “John or Jane Doe” are able to live under False Names and Identities without being caught.
It’s amazing, and scary all at the same time.
