How dare any student ask a question or challenge a teacher when it comes to the all-mighty Barack Obama. Teacher goes mental on a student who merely expresses their First Amendment Right of Free speech. The North Rowan High School teacher tells the student that they can be arrested and charged criminally for speaking against Obama. Yup, this is what public school has come to.
When the student tells the teacher that Obama admitted to bullying a girl in school, the teacher goes on the defensive.
“Stop, no, because there is no comparison,” she says. Romney, she says, is “running for president. Obama is the president.”
When the student says they’re both “just men,” the teacher continues to argue that Romney, as a candidate for president, is not to be afforded the same respect as the president.
The teacher tells the class Obama is “due the respect that every other president is due.”
“Listen, let me tell you something, you will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom,” she says.
The student replies that he’ll say what he wants.
“Not about him you won’t,” the teacher says.
After reviewing a video in which a North Rowan High School teacher tells a student he can be arrested for speaking ill of President Barack Obama, the Rowan-Salisbury School System said it can be a learning experience.
Meanwhile, an expert on politics at Catawba College says the social studies teacher just doesn’t have her facts straight when she insists speaking your mind about a president can get you charged with a criminal offense.
Although two students provided the name of the teacher, the Post is not publishing it because officials within the school system would not confirm her identity and she could not be reached for comment.
The video captures audio of the dispute but does not show the teacher or anyone else. It appears to have been shot with a phone or other device as the camera pointed at the ceiling the entire time.
Rowan-Salisbury spokeswoman Rita Foil confirmed the teacher is still employed with the district and has not been suspended for disciplinary reasons. Foil emailed this statement to a Post reporter Friday on behalf of the school system:

What is truly amazing in the discussion between the student and the teacher is that the student is the one who sounds like an educated adult. The teacher sounds like an irrational, bumbling, ignorant fool. The Obama Kool-aid drinking teacher is so in the tank for the Obamamessiah that she would dare stifle free speech. Worse yet, this disgrace of a teacher is still employed and no disciplinary action was taken.

Disgraceful but also scary. Where was respect for the President when Will Ferrell was on Broadway mocking GWB – where was the respect when Hollywood made a not too complimentary movie about GWB while he was still in the White House. While walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards, George Clooney disparaged a Fox reporter for referring to the president as Obama and not “President” Obama. This president has no respect for America, Americans, the teacher in this article or even George Clooney. Yet they want unquestioned loyalty and respect for him. I don’t know what will happen to this teacher but Clooney has lost a fan, same for Tom Hanks. If people want to speak out, as they have the right to do, at least be honest. Matt Damon has been honest, Angelina Jolie the same and even Jon Stewart. They have my respect not these blind idiots.
