TSA Strikes Again … Family Misses Flight from JFK Because TSA Thinks 7 Year Old Developmentally Disabled Dina Frank is Public Enemy #1 and Terrorist …
Welcome to an Obama world … what ever happened to the America I grew up in that would never, never have done this to a disabled child? Then dare try and defend their actions. UNREAL.
The incompetence of the TSA Strikes again. The brain surgeons at the TSA at JFK International Airport actually considered 7 year old Dina Frank a “security risk”. Oh, did we say that 7 year old Dina Frank is developmentally challenged with cerebral palsy and crutches. WTF is wrong with these people? Seriously, these TSA folks need to be slapped and beat with a common sense stick. This BS has just gotten out of control.
Four months after the Transportation Security Administration launched a program to help airline passengers with disabilities, a New York family found out just how little “TSA Cares.”
Traveling from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Florida, the Frank family was yanked out of line as it boarded the plane in a dispute over how 7-year-old Dina had been screened. The little girl, who has cerebral palsy, walks with crutches and leg braces.
“They make our lives completely difficult,” said her father, Dr. Joshua Frank, a Long Island pediatrician. “She’s not a threat to national security.”
Flying is always difficult for the family, but this week was particularly dreadful, Frank and his wife, Marcy, said.
With her crutches and orthotics, Dina cannot walk through metal detectors and instead is patted down by security agents. The girl, who is also developmentally disabled, is often frightened by the procedure, her father said.
Um, wait a second. What happened to the TSA changed rules when it comes to children, shoes and pat downs? This nonsense was supposed to no longer happen. But not for these egregious fools at JFK.
In a move that is sure to please many parents, the Transportation Security Administration will no longer ask children under 12 to remove their shoes at airport security checkpoints and will take steps to avoid invasive pat-downs.
To avoid pat-downs on kids, screeners will send them through detectors and image machines multiple times and use hand swabs to check for traces of explosives, the AP reports.
What makes matters worse is that these TSA agenda and their managers are out of control. They hide behind the pathetic BS that they are following protocol. Protocol for what … a cavity search for a serial killer entering a maximum security prison? It is one thing to protect the public from terrorism, it is quite a different story to terrorize 7 year old little girls with cerebral palsy. Have these TSA agents no soul? Obviously they have no common sense. It is obvious to pretty much everyone that if the TSA actyally thinks they are justified in doing this to a developmentally challenged 7 year old girl, then the TSA policies are a joke.
Marcy Frank usually asks the agents to introduce themselves to her daughter, but those on duty on Monday were exceptionally aggressive, Joshua Frank said, and he began to videotape them with his iPhone.
“And the woman started screaming at me and cursing me and threatening me,” he said.
Eventually, a supervisor decided it was sufficient to inspect Dina’s crutches and allowed the family to leave for the gate.
They were there for an hour before the agents reappeared with a manager to tell them that proper protocol had not been followed, and that Dina had to be screened after all, the Franks said. After initially offering to pat her down at the gate, they insisted she return to the security area, Joshua Frank said.
America truly has become an Obamaination.

Wake up – whether these TSA employees have a soul or not has nothing to do with it. The times are different from the good old days. Sure these screenings make people have a bad day sometimes, sure it scares children sometimes, sure it seems unlikely that these kids are a threat. But unlikely is not “impossible” and the truth is that those offended travelers will get over it before long and I’ll feel much safer knowing that everyone on my plane, regardless of age or appearance, has been screened. Call me crazy.

SM: oh yea, they can frisk a 7 year old with cerebral palsy … but some how they turn a blind eye letting drugs through the screening. NICE. Sorry, these protocols are a joke. They do not keep us safer, they harass a child because how dare they actually profile a Muslim terrorist.
Have you ever wondered what happened to the Geeks that got picked on and beat up in school ??? They became TSA agents !!!
Perhaps if TSA employees were granted proper civil service status, something that should’ve been done when the organization was created, these jobs would attract a better class of more professional people. As it is these jobs don’t pay Hardly enough to live on, nor any benefits that makes them an attractive career choice to anyone who doesn’t already have very limited career choices. So what you’re left with is a huge turnover in the workforce, and folks who are only interested in temporary employment until they can find a Real job that offers genuine financial security for themselves and their families.
It’s interesting that a society would relegate the people responsible for their safety and security to third class employee status, so that those people have no job security, no union protections, and no future in these professions. So why would you expect anything better than third class service from such people?
TSA agents were recently bribed by drug dealers to overlook drug shipments that were passing through their security stations. No doubt this is a regular occurrence, and if real terrorists were genuinely interested in getting on a plane, it would be easy enough to bribe such workers. So what TSA really does is create the illusion of security, protection from the average nut with no resources and no ability to plan, and nothing more.
I suppose it’s going to take another 9/11 like tragedy to get the corporate own profit driven Vermin who currently rule the transportation sector, much as they ruled the Republicans in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Maybe when a few thousand more Americans die, only then will they say to themselves, gosh I guess we should offer these people some kind of job security end civil service protections in order to attract people of character and conscience to these positions. Until then nobody should complain, and be very thankful to whatever deity you worship, or think yourself very lucky that you make it off the plane alive these days. Because in a democratic society, it is you who are ultimately responsible for your own safety, and responsible for allowing a third rate organization like the TSA to be responsible for the safety of the people you care about. When the realization finally hits you, remember it is you who is ultimately responsible for for these experiences.

SM: Perhaps who ever wrote or is interpreting the TSA protocols got slapped upside their head, that would work as well.
This is why I refuse to take my children and grandchildren on a plane. We vacation locally, and we drive. I only fly for funerals.
tsa is just another communist arm of the Democrats.

I think that line was dead on, Aaron. People love their “illusions” don’t they?
TSA are trained — but not highly trained — If McDonald’s had its own “security force” … the next step up would be TSA. Some might even consider a lateral move.
Maybe some of these over-zealous Agents should be employed @ Border Patrol.
Just sayin’ ,,,,,
Aaron is correct up to a point. IMO there are few who work for the federal government that could succesfully compete in the real job market. They just don’t have the skills and thinking ability required.
When you have an agency that hires entry level people to make quality decisions, this is what you get.
Unless the distance to travel is greater than 300 miles or there is a specific time restraint it is not time effective to fly. By the time one factors in the trip to the airport, having to arrive sometimes two hours before a flight, the actual flight time and the time spent getting out of the destination airport you have invested six to seven hours of time. The interstate highway system will allow one to travel 100 miles in an hour and one-half.
Short haul carriers are going to be hurt because of this worthless agencies behavior.
Some of us live in archipelagos. Granted, not that many.
[...] war on terrorism. Nothing could be more ignorant that to waste time feeling up little girls like HERE, HERE and HERE and 79 or 85 year old one’s as well in lieu of going after oh say Muslim men [...]
