GUN CONTROL: Eric Holder circa 1995 … We Must “really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way”
If the MSM is not going to vet these folks, then the blogosphere will …
BIG GOVERNMENT.com has uncovered the following VIDEO of Attorney General Eric Holder from 1995 doing his best to take away our Second Amendment rights. Holder announced a public campaign at a Woman’s National Democratic Club speech to “really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.
Just curious, isn’t it the entertainment industry that Holder blames for the guns the very ones who support Obama?

Holder was addressing the Woman’s National Democratic Club. In his remarks, broadcast by CSPAN 2, he explained that he intended to use anti-smoking campaigns as his model to “change the hearts and minds of people in Washington, DC” about guns.
“What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that’s not cool, that it’s not acceptable, it’s not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes.”
Holder added that he had asked advertising agencies in the nation’s capital to assist by making anti-gun ads rather than commercials “that make me buy things that I don’t really need.” He had also approached local newspapers and television stations, he said.
BRAINWASH? Really Mr. Holder, as stated by the Jawa Report, is this why you were all in on “Fast & Furious”? Oh that’s right, you were never aware of that scandal. A note to Eric Holder and his ilk, it is not cool to carry a gun, IT IS A US CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT!!!
Be very careful America … as stated by the Lonely Conservative, Holder et all think you are sheep. Do not make their job so easy and follow blindly. These folks have an agenda and imagine what an Obama administration second term would look like when he had no accountability to the people being a lame duck.

Do you also disagree with the “education” on the dangers of smoking?
You could compellingly argue that this kind of (imagined) campaign would have a goal of broad gun control in the same way that smokers have been forced out into the streets; but his initial target here is young people carrying guns.
I don’t agree that school-aged children carrying guns is inside of the spirit of protecting the 2nd amendment. I do see the slippery-slope argument, but the straw-man also applies.
I don’t follow Obama’s gun control record too closely, but from what I have picked up in conversation is that he really hasn’t pursued gun control measures.

SM: Sorry, the term “brainwashing” loses the Holder argument.
Eric is just one voice among the many in the
Marxist Style group masquerading around as
the current Regime in WASHDC. The ‘Brainwashing’
theme extends from gun confiscation to practically
everything the Anti-Constitutional bunch of idiots
illegally controls. Our kids don’t notice the indoctrination
being imposed in the so called schools they attend.
I’ve maintaine since the 70′s that the anti smoking effort was primarily an exercise in behaviour modification. It worked, sort of, and now the full power of the federal government is brought to bear on gun control, red meat, fake alternate energy, global warming and any other PC goals they want to push. But it began with smoking. (I’m not defending smoking. It’s a dirty filthy habit. Glad I quit. It’s just that because the “goal” was good they could lie and deceive without contradiction because their hearts are pure.)

Yeah, that was a stupid word to use. Should have stuck with “What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns”
flippy, smoking isn’t a Constitutional Right. Owning a firearm is. Cigarettes kill more people every year than guns. I Googled it in more than one place. Cigarettes kill at least 400K every year. Guns approximately 10K.
No doubt SM is all in favor of education on the dangers of a gun and how they should be handled as well as education on not smoking. Your point was really out there.
