GM, Government Motors, Buying Back Chevrolet Volts
Its not easy being green, especially when it catches on fire. Yet another resounding failure of the Barack Obama, government owned, green agenda … GM is buying back Chevrolet Volts. What else could we expect from an Obama endorsed product?
General Motors will buy Chevrolet Volts back from any owner who is afraid the electric cars will catch fire, the company’s CEO said Thursday.
In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, CEO Dan Akerson insisted that the cars are safe, but said the company will purchase the Volts because it wants to keep customers happy. Three fires have broken out in Volts after side-impact crash tests done by the federal government.
Akerson said that if necessary, GM will recall the more than 6,000 Volts now on the road in the U.S. and repair them once the company and federal safety regulators figure out what caused the fires.
If its not bad enough that the Government had to bail out GM, now we are bailing out Volt owners who made the choice to buy these cars.

Obama’s electrik kars are burning up due to unknown flaws.
The kars are being recalled. Obama himself has plenty of
flaws, so, what should happen next?
ah, it’s not government motors buying back, it’s the US taxpayers -the few that are left.
The automobile industry tried electric vehicles in the early part of the 20th century. They worked for the little ladies in a small to medium city who didn’t like the sound of the internal combustion engine. With the advent of good muffler design, the electric car went the way of the buggy whip.
Battery technology has made tremendous strides because of the drive of the portable computer market. These applications are small enough to not provide the potential fire hazard that a large battery bank creates.
When the “Green Energy” people try to have their way regardless of the cost or potential dangers, this is what we get.
Did anyone think to do a crash test into a large battery bank prior to puting them into vehicles? I doubt it. Now the tax payer gets to pay for another government boondogle.
Doufus Dolf…
How literally stupid are you?
These supposedly “green” Volts go for $41 grand.
These supposedly “green” Volts have serious safety issues as more and more people are having problems with them.
This has nothing to do with Honda, Ford or Nissan but the company that US taxpayers like myself bailed out.
This recall and the Honda recall is like apples and oranges.
This HAS EVERYTHING to do with Obama. He bailed out GM and his buddy Jeff Imelt; who buy the way profited a few billion dollars and DID NOT pay any taxes.
Dude, you literally need to stay the (EDIT) out of our affairs.
Go find a coffeehouse and stay there!
those taxes might come from the Bush admin
your affairs might be?
and I think you mean coffeeshop.
cause a coffeehouse would be a starbacks
