Obamanomics: 16.2% Unemployment for African-Americans … 41% for Black Teens … OUCH!!!
Thanks Barack Obama … will African Americans vote for Obama in 2012 like they did in 2008 after a disastrous 4 years in office?
In 2008 Barack Obama promised “hope & change” and many in America and especially in the African-American community fell for the sound byte hook, line and sinker. Just curious black America, hows that “hopey, changey” stuff working out for you lately?
President Barack Obama has been woefully absent on jobs and his complete failure with the economy has never been worse than with African-Americans. The united States presently has a 9.1% unemployment rate, although we know that it is much higher than that as many individuals have just given up and have stopped looking for work. According to CBS News, unemployment among blacks is at 16.2%, 17.5% for black males, and a near 41% for black teens.
While unemployment among the general population is about 9.1 percent, it’s at 16.2 percent African Americans, and a bit higher still for African American males.
CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller reports that, historically, the unemployment rate for African Americans has always been higher than the national average. However, now it’s at Depression-era levels. The most recent figures show African American joblessness at 16.2 percent. For black males, it’s at 17.5 percent; And for black teens, it’s nearly 41 percent.
After all the promises from Obama in 2008 to minorities, how many will actually look at the cold hard facts in 2012 and ask themselves if they are better off today than they were four years ago. When it comes to “hope & change”, be careful what you wish for.

they will still vote for him regardless of this.
Fascist Rep. or Obama, tough choice
easiest 4 more years in history !!
superdave, you are right, they will vote for him anyway.
as long as they get their welfare checks and all the perks that go along with it, they could care less.
now i understand the plantation mentality. just take care of me and i don’t care what you do to the country that i live in.
the plantation mentality??
i like what Herman Cain said. he said that he is not an African American, he is an American !!!!
he doesn’t want to be stereotyped like Obama and claim his blackness before running the country.
In case you really donn’t understand the plantation mentality Dolf, it is as follows:
I am the great, great, great, great, grandchild of a slave. They lived on a plantation where they worked for food, housing, clothing, doctors care and they didn’t have to worry about anything.
Now we got it better than they did. They had to work for what they got, but we don’t have to do nothing. All we have to do is go down to the welfare office and we gets all them people to give us what what we need.
Mr. Obama promised that if we voted for him, he would make it even better.
@6
they were slaves.
how can someone compare him/herself with a slave.
they worked so that their masters wouldn’t beat them. IF they were lucky they had a decent 1 who provided medical care.
I understand what you mean, nobody likes a bum. But the comparison is insulting. Esp. for those who gave their lives to end slavery.
and Obama never said, just stay home and collect the welfare check.
#7: all that you hear about slavery isn’t necessarily true. a good percentage of it is merely propaganda.
Dave please explain your statement.
#9: self explanatory statement ! do some research and learn. black people are not the only people that were slaves in history.
nothing is ever mentioned about blacks enslaving their own in this country but it happened quite often.
i’m sure as lot of what you see and heasr may be true but there is also a lot of propaganda.
@10 true, most slaves were sold by African tribes (slavery was common there).
But what does that have to do with slavery in the US?
[...] President Barack Obama, unemployment for blacks has been abysmal. Males, females and teens have all seen their unemployment numbers skyrocket under Obama. But I thought he cared about them? [...]
