44 Year Old Gail Nowacki Palmgren Has Been Missing Since April 30, 2011 from Signal Mountain, TN
44 year old Gail Nowacki Palmgren has been missing since April 30, 2011 from Signal Mountain, TN. Her husband, Matthew Palmgren, reported his wife missing to police on May 2 after he was urged by her family. He told police his wife left their children, ages 9 and 12, alone at their home at 40 Ridge-rock Drive on that date. His wife’s Jeep also is missing. Gail Nowacki Palmgren last spoke to her sister Diane Nichols around 6:30 AM April 30, telling her sister that she was leaving her Lake Jordan home heading to her home in Signal Mountain.

Family friend Arlene Durham said Palmgren is a devoted mother of two children, a 9-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy.
“I think she’s so scared right now she doesn’t know what to do,” said Durham, who lives on Lake Jordan, Ala., and has been in Signal Mountain all week searching for Palmgren. “If she’s not hiding, then something happened to her. You don’t just up and leave. She’s not that type of person.”
Palmgren, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., moved to Signal Mountain in 2009 from Louisville, Ky., with her children and husband, Matt, director of pharmacy programs for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s government business and emerging markets business unit.

The following is rather troubling, Signal Mountain Police Department incident report indicated on April 22 Gail Palmgren called 911 and asked for help. The fact that police needed to go to this residence and the subsequent actions that have taken place since, including the disappearance of Gail Nowacki Palmgren points to something where this investigation is going to become more than a missing persons case.
The dispute between Mrs. Palmgren and her husband which prompted that call was eventually resolved after both parties “cooled down,” according to a police report filed at the time.
But the next day, according to a Chancery Court affidavit Mr. Palmgren filed seeking legal separation from his wife, his wife took jewelry and other valuable items out of their house.
The April 22 trip was the first of at least three that police made to the Palmgren home during the following 10 days.
Missing woman’s husband seeks custody of children. Hmm, now the husband of missing Gail Nowacki Palmgren files for legal separation. Whether this couple is having troubles or not, is this really the actions of someone who’s mother of your children is missing?
A Chancery Court judge will rule in a case Friday where the husband of a missing woman is seeking temporary custody of their two children and exclusive use of their Signal Mountain home, according to court documents.
The search continues this Sunday, May 22, 2011 for missing Gail Nowacki Palmgren.
This is certainly an unusual case and how many times have we seen previous cases of reported missing persons with a bad situation with an estranged husband? Is it believable that she would just take off and leave her children behind?
If you have any information on her whereabouts, you are asked to call the Signal Mountain Police Department at 423-886-2123.
