You Mean You Have not Read Rita Cosby’s Fantastic Book QUIET HERO “Secrets From My Father’s Past” … Its a Must Read
A special shout out for Rita Cosby … one of the truly great gals of the MSM …and her dad, a true HERO!
Rita Cosby has been a great friend of Scared Monkeys and the Dana Pretzer Radio Show on Scared Monkeys radio. Over the years, the news stories and the crime and missing persons stories … Rita has also become a close friend as well. Want to have a great read, take a look at Rita’s book, Quiet Hero, ‘Secrets of My Father.”
You can order the book below by clicking on the book picture below. Being a college history major, history junky or should I say Monkey and reader of all things WWII, Rita’s book is really an interesting perspective into her dad, a POW, the human spirit and the never ending pursuit of freedom. However, don’t take out word for it, hear it from Rita herself when she discussed her book Quiet Hero, other stories and her dad. Its a fantastic radio interview, one hour of Rita, wall to wall.
Quiet Hero, “Secrets From My Father’s Past”
Emmy-winning Journalist Rita Cosby uncovers her father’s harrowing story as a WWII Resistance Fighter and Prisoner Of War. After a daring escape, he and his comrades were saved by American forces. An emotional story of redemption and forgiveness… a daughter finally discovering her own father
Go visit Rita’s website, The Quiet Hero,“Secrets From My Father’s Past”. The above book link is for the hard cover, its also now available in paperback HERE. As Rita Cosby states, the real heroes are not those who are begging to be in front of the camera and are begging for attention, they are they ones who don’t talk, who don’t brag and who aren’t seeking the limelight. They are they one’s like her dad, who were willing to die for their country. AMEN!
On a person note, I have similar experiences to Rita Cosby’s book above when I used to talk to my Uncle who was a WWII war veteran and entered the US Army at the age of 18. My namesake saw and experienced things that no 18 year normally does. He served in Patton’s Third Army and was a Purple Heart, Silver and Bronze Star winner. He to was a quiet hero who rarely discussed what he experienced and it was only at the end of his live he shared it with me. Bravo to Rita for sharing her dad with us.

my grandfather fought in the ww2 (Dutch army..so for 5 days).
He had friends from the US who fought in the 82nd AB.
The stories they told about the battle for the Bulge.
The biggest heroes are usualy the quiet ones.
